Well, just finished filing, and the greed needs to stop What greed are you referring to?
People making nine bucks an hour, even when working full time, for a family of four, are under federal poverty guidelines. It really needs to stop. Dog whistle in support of abortion?
Yup, they are offered healthcare, but two thou a year is beyond reach for these workers Thank obamacare.
Really, the greed needs to stop. Is that why you only submit to nonpaying, internet blogs?
Of course, the upper management type told me, "if they don't like it they can go get a job somewhere else, or start a business" If willing to work, why not?
Yup, he admitted to being a libertarian, but irony meter is broken. He actually said that people should not be dependent on corporations...all for themselves and all that. Care to guess where he works at? The same hospital these low paid workers are picketing. And that proves what, exactly?

2. I just finished writing two stories None of which will be published in a real news article.
The two papers have radically different styles. One, AP, just the facts, the other allows more editorial views. "Other" being code for on-line blog.
What is shocking is media was there last time...today I even got some breaking news and the exclusive. I also did a lot of the interviews in Spanish. In other words, not crunchy.
But that gentleman, there is also an aspect of undertone racism. BS We have a lot of that. But I did the math, gross pay is 17,000 and change. Poverty line for a four person family is 23,050. Advise them to move back south, then go through channels to become legal.
And what they do is back breaking...and a good functioning hospital depends on them. Six hundred pound bed pans.

That they qualify for Cal-Fresh. I wish I had the info on me on how to qualify and all that. How's that Cali budget doing, gNads?
We live in a myth. The best part is that idiot would take EBT in a NY second. Ya, right.
Greed, this needs to stop...and the irony is, living wages laws would make EBT almost not needed. If twits like you stop enabling illegals, that might just come about.
edit to mention.
There are two replies now, on the "Breaking News San Diego thread.
Guess who made them? :lmao:

Must be. She is always truthful. At least when you can figure out what she is saying.

You know, the oblate spheroid is the best example of why things such as law-enforcement scanners should be illegal for civilians to have. It's not any of her business.
I know mine's a minority opinion, but how would the primitives like it--if they have a job--if they were constantly being watched by people who have no stake in them doing their job?
The oblate spheroid's just a snoop, a yenta, a busybody.

LOL...I have a scanner; but it is no longer any good because local police went digital. Mine is analog. And, yes, I had it to be nosy I will admit. Truthfully, I bought the scanner (it's handheld) to use at NASCAR races. It was a plus when I learned it would also pick up local police bands. A replacement digital scanner is over 300.00 (last time I checked), so I'm no longer being nosy.
A few things I did hear on the scanner. A few years ago, the local sugar mill blew up (it made national news). I heard the call on the scanner for all available ambulances and fire units an hour before the news broke in with the story. I called people I knew that worked there to make sure they were okay. Thank goodness they were off that night.

Did she get the meat hammer out?
Did someone say meat hammer? :naughty:
-
But that's not the same as with the oblate spheroid, so don't be apologetic about it.
The oblate spheroid has all these toys and gizmos simply because she has an obsessive compulsion to "be the first to know," to "be on the inside of things."
She's just a nosy old busybody, trying to get the lowdown on things that aren't any concern of hers.
By the way, "snoop" in Dutch means "to eat on the sly," for whatever that's worth, and that fits the oblate spheroid to a "t" too.

I wonder how Pam Dawson and Anne Pritchett would feel if we stuck microphones in their classrooms so we could listen to them teach. They probably wouldn't like it too much, especially considering how much stink the teachers unions here raised to keep evaluation scores private.

1. Nadin: Perfection. A person who's named Nadin; not Nadine, is beautiful on the outside and on the inside. She usually has long, flowy hair and an almost perfect complexion. Inside, she is kind and gentle, has an outgoing personality and is very confident. Like a ballerina, she is somewhat very graceful and great in bed.
I dunno about the "great in bed" thing, though.
2. Nadin: Revolving around perfection; always trying to be perfect and showing up others with there superior intelligence. 2) A person think that they intelectual surpass every one else.
3. nadin: A very big, fat and round shaped egg.

I was actually scheduled to do some work for someone that was supposedly injured in that explosion. I was dealing with a third party so I never had contact with the individual, but if I understood correctly, they were going to pay me with part of their settlement money. The deal between the individual and the third party went south before the work began though.

I never attended a race without one. Unfortunately, I haven't been to a race in 8 years or so. I do enjoy DirecTV's race channels. They have channels for 4 or 5 drivers that allow you to listen to their team communications.

Walking the Picket Line at Grossmont Hospital
Last edited Thu Dec 13, 2012, 05:39 PM USA/ET - Edit history (2)
Imagine, if you will, making $9.01/hour, being head of household, and having to pay $118.88 per pay period for your health insurance. Soon to go up due to obamacare. Assuming you work forty hours, before payroll deduction, that is $$720.80 every fifteen days. This is the situation right now at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, where employees working for Sodexo Corporation, the subcontractor for dietary, housekeeping, clerical and Engineering services are negotiating a new three year contract.
What is the company offering? According to Housekeeping Shop Steward Alex Burstein “Sodexo is being difficult†and are holding at keeping salary increases at 2.25% over a three year period. This is not even a cost of living increase. When pay averages at $9.09/ Hour these workers have a difficult time making rent, let alone paying bills, or buying food.
I asked Burstein if the company has gone so far as to tell employees where to apply for Cal-Fresh to Medical? He said no, but he had to use the Union food pantry twice. They are offered medical, but look at the price above to see what for a family policy.

WORKERS DEMAND BETTER PAY AT GROSSMONT HOSPITAL
More December 2012 Articles Business and Labor Grossmont Hospital Sodexo
Printer-friendly version
By Nadin Abbott, ninja journalist
December 13, 2012 (La Mesa) Housekeeping and dietary workers were once again outside Grossmont Hospital walking the sidewalk yesterday. The employees work for Sodexo, a subcontractor whose workers are paid less than Sharp Hospital employees but are charged more for their healthcare, say union representatives who seek fairer wage and benefit terms for Sodexo workers.
Sodexo, a contract company that provides hospital personnel, was not available for comments on the ongoing labor negotiations.
The group was smaller than the last informational rally. The reason, according to Patty Arballo, a member of the negotiating team of the United Health Care Employee Union was that management called for a last minute mandatory meeting, which Arballo called "very disrespectful of the employees."
http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/node/11921 <-------- :lmao:
They are slightly different stories, but next time you go to any hospital, remember that housekeeping and dietary might be making bellow poverty level wages.
What we need truly...are not minimum wage laws, but living wage laws.
First and only comment so far..

1. In the future, you'll want to be careful with your terminology.
The term "picket line" is almost never used in the context of an informational picket, bannering or rally, and is instead reserved for strike situations. This becomes important when other unions are involved; they need to know whether this is an actual line they're crossing, or if it is merely to educate and inform.
If you didn't write the headline, you'll want to inform who ever did of the difference.
:lmao:
-

Screw that COLA increase. Is that 2.25% in keeping with what Obama says inflation is?
A lot of companies negotiate based on what the government says inflation is or has been. When Obama lies about inflation, he is hurting everyone that works under negotiated contracts.
