Fox Paints Labor Unions As A Bunch Of Boozers And Stoners

Guest Laura Ingraham agreed. “Next time, like something falls off your Chrysler, like your steering wheel cover kind of slips off? Well, now we know why.” She started laughing.

Doocy chimed in, “It was made after lunch.”

Ingraham continued, “Stuff… knobs always fall off because, oh man, ‘Let’s get another nickel bag before I go back to work.’ It’s ridiculous.”

Gretchen Carlson said, “It speaks to the power of the union. You know, it really does. And whatever they had in the language of the contract, the arbitrator sided with them. So they must have this sort of iron-clad language.”

Apparently, that “iron-clad language” is that sufficient and conclusive evidence is needed before a worker can be fired. But Carlson made it sound as though enforcing a contract that protects workers is a bad thing.

There was also the unmistakeable suggestion that only union workers get high on the job and avoid getting fired. As though the two go hand in hand and the union is to blame for the entire thing.

Ingraham added, “Maybe Chrysler will rue the day" that they were "so lax and tolerant of, you know, union power.”

Yeah the nerve to claim that it is the union's fault when it was the union that got them rehired.  :mental:

Color me unimpressed by Chrysler bending over and taking it from the UAW.

Color me doubly unimpressed by the UAW defending said stoners and drunks knowing full well what fitness for duty means.

From what I've read and heard about the arbitration hearing it wasn't an issue of wrong doing on the Laborers part but someone in management committed a technical snafu in the dissmisal process. In other words management was within their rights to fire them they just missed crossing a few T's or dotting some I's.

So they avoid being fired because some 5th amendment prohibition of double-jeopardy at Chrysler? Just resubmit the paperwork.

Well, if they weren't a bunch of boozers and stoners it wouldn't have been easy to paint that picture.

Happened in the papermills all the time.  Some of these old mills, they're like dungeons in a castle.  Lots of hideaways and places to stash.  There was even a little-known room deep in the bowels, within the labyrinth, all fitted out with couches, army cots, and rejected furniture where it was just party-central (and a sleeping-off place).

Teacher unions are bad too.  You can't fire them.  Even in some cases of child molestation.  Reason #17 of why I hate unions.
