http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/06/01/breaking-news-on-whitey-tape-from-fox-news-a-tv-network-has-the-tape/
Here’s the text version at TVEyes.com:
FNC 06/01/2008 14:43:30: …>>> welcome back to our special coverage live coverage from puerto rico. just before the break, roger stone the republican strategist made the comment that michele obama used the phrase whitey when describing white people and michael brown says bs that is republican dirty tricks as usual. roger take it away. michael, you are in the wings. >> this has little to do with the general election and a lot to do with why hillary clinton is staying in the race. look, there is already a buzz in washington at least seven news organizations have contacted me. wanting to know how to get their hands on this tape, giving me more information than i had after i had spoken to each one of them. i now believe the tape exists and i believe a network has it. if this pans to out to be true based on michele obama’s previous comment that this is the first time she had been proud of her country which i think shows an attitude it is problematic.
>> [GERALDO SAYS THIS — IGNORE HIM] i will give you a hundred bucks if it is true. i don’t believe it is true. michael brown, you respond. >> his premise is that this is why hillary clinton is staying in hoping this bomb shell derails senator obama’s nomination effort. this is not why senator clinton is staying in the race. she is hoping that now since she has the popular vote lead that superdelegates will say she is the best to take on john mccain. that is why she is staying in the race tortion make the argument to superdelegates. to put out the allegation that there is a race between the news organization and the. >> the republicans. >> this is a republican tactic and what they do and this is what we will continue to for the next six months with us they have no answer about the war no, answer about the economy. no answer about gas prices and no answers about healthcare to they do smear, that is what they do. >> okay. michael brown, thank you. roger stone tracks you. we will see, you know, brock rock scored a major endorsement here a couple of months ago when the governor endorsed him because nobody knew barack obama here in puerto rico. the clintons had been here many, many, many times. hillary came after hurricane george in 1998 and the clintons have huge name recognition. the endorsement by the governor was a major coupe until the governor was slapped with a 19…
Wade through it at the link -- but if it is true, it is a nuke on the hussein campaign...

I have been hearing about this tape for a while on various blogs. if it was out there, I have to believe it would have surfaced by now.

Let's hope tomorrow isn't a business tomorrow.
But I just passed it along -- it will be interesting if it does (or doesn't) happen.
-
How is this any worse than any of her other comments. If it is a bombshell, then it is a cherry bomb. And probably a fizzle.
His supporters know all this, and don't care.
As for the generality of the American public, it is still early days. Obama has skated past worse. :banghead:

It just adds to the pile of dog crap though.
-
The media will downplay it, if it's true...and I agree with the Baruch...he's skated through worse and is still going to be
the Dummies' nominee. I know plenty of democrats that will stay home on election day if he's their guy. I predict a landslide
for McCain. I don't care what the polls say...the "silent" marjority will vote this year.
-
Unless the tape ends up making Obama white, I doubt any such tape will make any type of difference.
-
If it exists it will be Hillary releasing it. There is no reason whatsoever for a Republican to do so this early.
-

He is white, at least half and I guess in this case self hatred doesn't matter so long as you don't hate whichever 'protected class' you are. :p

now there you go, getting to the truth of the matter, HE has surrounded himself with crap. look at the entirety of the picture. As the opposition likes to say "put it in context" Barrack Obama has aligned himself with Black Liberation Theology, a theology of anti_American maraxism, he calls friends and mentors the likes of Pfelel, Wright, Farrakam, who in turn embrace the likes of Kadafi, they also call friends a Bill Ayeres and his wife confessed terrorists who wish they had done more to bomb this country we do not wear the flag pin (well until recently) we do not put our hands across the heart and honor the anthem, we are for the first time "proud" of our country at age 45, and "America is a downright mean country." (Michele). Barrack Obama is trying to introduce a bill to the Senate floor that will tax Americans 850 BILLION dollars to fight global poverty, socialize medicine, take the ceiling off the taxes collected on social security, he will let the Bush tax cuts expire. There aren't enough rich people to pay for all this. He will cut and run from Iraq , and arrange tea parties with Immadinnajacket. So far I haven't seen or heard of a really nice upstanding person who he has aligned himself with. It will not surprise me in the least to hear her use the term "whitely".
-
I heard on the radio yesterday, and it is hearsay that if elected, Mr Obama would make John Edwards Attorney General. Now there is something to :bawl: about.
-
there's an awful lot of smoke here . . . . it's all over the internets again this morning.
-
I don't like that. All over the internet gives us really credible stuff like the TANG memos. If it is real, it should already be out there.
-

Agreed -- WE, do you think we should lock this thread? It is providing more heat than light.
I shouldn't have started it. Maybe we can check back in 24 business hours.
-
I doubt this tape exists -- its become bigger than life via the internet, It would be a hoot if it does though. The left would be in Full-On Obamameltdown mode.

Like the DUmmie said: This is too important to ignore. Even if it is not true we need to spread it far and wide.

this story is simmering on absolutely reputable blogs. over at NRO, they are considering the

I have said that as well. and I have an entire salt shaker on this one, Mia.
-
The idea that such a tape could exist and that no one would be surprised tells us all we need to know about Michelle Obama. I have explored the public statements made by this highly racist woman. Whether or not a "whitey rant" has been captured on tape is unimportant. Michelle Obama's character is already a matter of public record.

That is how I feel as well (sorry Mia). The simple fact that we find this believable is troubling.

No need to apologize BEG. I see things differently on this. I don't think she said it, and I would be surprised that a highly educated woman such as Michell Obama would utter the phrase "whitey." But then again, it could be out there and I would have to reexamine my feelings on such a matter.
I'm going to put it up there with McCain supposedly calling his wife the "c" word. While I find that highly distasteful and wouldn't put it past him to say such a thing, it doesn't really change how I feel about him. Now, if he went on a "c" word rant tomorrow, and it was broadcast widely, I would change my stance.
All in all, as of now, neither situation effects anything.

I know you have heard this ad nauseam but considering her thesis in college, the crap she has already said on the campaign trail and the church she and her husband sat in for over 20 years, I wouldn't put it past her. I think the majority of Americans, if they were intellectually honest, would say it seems possible.
For that very reason, you need to realize that it doesn't matter if this tape exists or not. The damage of Michele Obama has already been done as far as anyone who is paying attention knows. BUT.....If this tape exists the MSM and democrats will still claim that it means nothing and will refuse to talk about it. Just like they refuse to talk about her thesis, the crap she has said on the campaign trail and the whole 20 years in a bigoted church. I find it odd that a majority of democrats who are voting in the primary's don't seem troubled by that.
As far as McCain calling his wife a C*nt. Does he have a history of saying vile things to his wife? Michele Obama has a history as far as "black liberation theology" goes, so this "whitey-gate" is very plausible.
-
What John McCain may or may not have said to his wife was between the two of them. Such an exchange does not disparage all women anymore than some woman calling her husband a "dick" would be directed towards all men.
We cannot say the same about the what Michelle Obama may or may not have said, which, if said, would surprise no one. "Whitey" is an attempt to be insulting to a race of people. It cannot be exclusive to a second party. It does not compare to the John McCain situation.
Michelle Obama may have spent a lot of time inside rooms where information was imparted by a "teacher" under the guise of learning, but I would not describe her as being highly educated. If she is highly educated she hides it well. My take on Mrs. Obama is that what passes as her education is nothing more than uncritical mental absorption of misinformation, purposeful distortions, and socialistic indoctrination. She is actually a dumber woman now than she was before she was "educated".

Did you read her Thesis? Worse English you will not find in a 3rd grade class in L.A. Unified. Also, if you really look at it, any one of us (except TNO) could have collected the data on one weekend and written it up the next.
-
Michelle is not running for office, and I really could care less what she says...It's not like I have never said things about her race.
Maybe she was just talking about this famous Iowa/Illinois Quad City Ice Cream Parlor?

Blacks can call whites anything they want to and it's OK. That's the rule. If a tape comes out, which I doubt, I will have to take certin liberties which have gotten me scolded here and another "conservative" website. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I always though a dignified classy lady was part of the package though. Do not want a first lady that talks like she came from the hood, and do not want leaders from other countries sneering at her crassiness.

yeah, as far as being the agent of 'change' obama seems to be wanting to surround himself with all the losers of the Dem party in his cabinet.. but its still speculation at this point. he hasnt made those remarks yet, himself.
but who else would he use? the Dems are mostly the party of losers and Kerry and Hilary and Biden and all the rest of them.. they are perfect to help Obama outwit the halfwit that is Jimmy Carter.

I have written this thing off as BS, but someone apparently heard it mentioned on laura inghram's radio show (or so I read on FR), and I think noquarters is still claiming that it's true . . . .
-
I still don't feel there is much meat on the bones of this story, but the thing I do find of interest, is that Team Obama ;
A ) Says it doesn't exist
B ) Says that its an unfortunate choice of words on Michelle's part ("Why'd He" ilo. "Whitey")
If the tape does not exist, why make excuses for it ? The Obamatons are actually keeping this floating in the news longer than it would otherwise. Are they Hedging their bets ? And if they are, that would indicate to me that MichelleStar! has said a few naughty things that may very well get them in trouble sooner or later.

well, if it is true, Hilary has blown her chance to use it ... unless she waits to use it in the general to sink Obama. but i would think that would be risky; he seems to get a fair amount of sympathy for some reason when these things keep coming to light.

and notice how quiet Mrs Barackstar!! has been of late? we hardly ever hear from her the past few weeks... I wonder why? i have no idea if the tape exists, but i think Michelle is a lightening rod like Terayza Heinz Kerry was; people instintively dont like the First Ladies to be so edgy and divisive.

The "tape" is a DVD that Trinity United sold on its website, and possibly offered free for download up until March 2008 when Trinity's site was scrubbed and the DVDs were no longer offered for sale.

Michelle Obama has more "class" than Bill Clinton? :evillaugh:There's no way for such a concept to be less than zero.
There is a tape. There isn't a tape. No, it's a dvd. No, there's not a dvd. There is a dvd nobody can find. Wait, there IS a dvd somebody has found...
So to the snake pit I go:
Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.
For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whiteyâ€, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this
.

That's a little too much detail for it to be totally fabricated, but this IS Larry Johnson we're talking about here.

the MSM asked him about the rumor, and he pretty well slapped it down (http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0608/Obama_denies_a_rumor_and_questions_the_question.html).
Obama denies a rumor and questions the question
Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday batted down rumors circulating on the Internet and mentioned on some cable news shows of the existence of a video of his wife using a derogatory term for white people, and criticized a reporter for asking him about the rumor, which has not a shred of evidence to support it.
“We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,†Obama said to the McClatchy reporter during a press conference aboard his campaign plane. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.â€
Asked whether he knew it not to be true, Obama said he had answered the question.
“Frankly, my hope is people don’t play this game,†Obama said. “It is a destructive aspect of our politics. Simply because something appears in an e-mail, that should lend it no more credence than if you heard it on the corner. Presumably the job of the press is to not to go around and spread scurrilous rumors like this until there is actually anything, an iota, of substance or evidence that would substantiate it.â€
See Also
So was it even acceptable to ask the question?
Before Obama could answer, communications director Robert Gibbs interjected: “You just did.â€
“That is my point,†Obama said. “I just think people have to think about it before they ask.â€
NOTE: Obama's clearly right that this is how stories for which there's no evidence at all make it into the public eye. So I'm not linking or detailing the rumor, since there's just zero credible evidence for it. This is probably a silly old media vestige, of course; Google has no such standards. And Obama's discussion of it is, more broadly, news: As he acknowledged yesterday, beating back whisper campaigns is perhaps the central challenge his campaign faces.
-
interesting chronology of this probable smear (http://www.reason.com/blog/show/126883.html). take note that this, like the willie horton issue in 1988, was raised by democrats during the democrat primary.
-
Thanks for the update WE. I think this is distracting. It takes away from the very credible and documentable criticism of the Obamas. We need to keep our eye on the ball as conservatives.

something like this comes out about some candidate's wife every election year. there was allegedly a picture of hillary burning the american flag in 1992. now that we are in the internets age, it's video.
-
Larry Johnson needs to account for this story. Do you think Hillary knew that he was doing this? What about Bob Beckel and his comments on F&F? That was just weird.

the fact that it was a democrat that was responsible for this is the "unspoken truth". I am sure that they will pin this on the republicans, slime us as a bunch of racists, and go on about their business.
-
The repubs should stay away from the issue of race with a 10 foot pole. Using race against a white man is one thing but using it against a black man is not a winning strategy. Obama's ultra liberal policies will do him in, and we surely do not want to encourage the sympathy vote.
-
Anyone else think Obama's denial was a Clintonian non-denial?
-
Im starting to think that the 'whitey' tape is a leak sent out by camp Obama -- because, sometimes, making others "cry wolf" on your behalf is helpful. Once enough tasty rumors appear and are proven false, people will stop reacting to them -- that way once something genuine leaves the gate all it will get as a response are a few yawns. (Unless it is a MASSIVE issue)

I doubt it. politics is much more tactical, not strategic.
