DUmmy Dennis the Menace, the DUmp's officially, professionally diagnosed lunatic, has made several mentions about his compulsive spending as part of his nuttiness. A four-thousand dollar bicycle here, a premium gym membership there, no problem for a mentally scrambled paralegal.
Now the bills are rolling in.

Hi. The reality of a situation is hitting home. I really f'ed up something.
Yeah. I don't even know where to begin to start on this one .... Back to the angst-filled posts. Well, not quite as bad as where I was. Not irrational or ranting, more like I am trying to admit I have a problem so I can deal with it.
...blah, blah, blah, whine, blah....
I haven't even been brave enough to look at my credit card statements for months. Just ignore them when they show up. More than ignore. Avoid. Purposefully avoid. To the extent that I just wrote smallish payment checks and a cover letter and mailed to the payments address I had copied down for both issuers back around Labor Day. That way I wouldn't have to look.
Well, I had to look. Couldn't avoid it any more.
Self-Inflicted Disaster. Of epic proportions. I was shocked at the balances. And by the fact I am very near credit limits. Never been there before.
I'm not even brave enough here to admit to the numbers. But as a percentage of annual net income, total is about 200%. Enough to buy a really nice car, and not a basic Chevy or Toyota, but some model of some of the luxury brands.
I worked up the courage to check statements because I took savings bonds out of the safe deposit box last week, and submitted yesterday after getting the medallion signature guarantees on them. I took out what I thought would cover most of it. Wrong, about half. And this is pre-invoice for a couple of my biggest medical bills.
...blah, blah, whine, blah...
Some of this spending is legit - been paying the medical bills that have come in this way, pre-paid my therapist for 4 months, plus gas, car repairs that were essential that were about $1000.
But I did this. Prior to August, total I owed on CC was about 2/3 rds of annual net income. And I was working really hard on getting it down - in January 2012 it was about equal to NI. Was making good progress.
I have confidence 2013 will be a better year for me.

No, DUmmy Dennis the Menace, 2013 most assuredly will not be a better year for you.
Except for one thing.
It's too late this year, but next year you could be a DOTY contender.
You could easily become a lunatic of nadinesque proportions.

What a big mess. What a perfect demokrat. And no, Dennis. 2013 is not going to be a good year for you.

He has as much sense as TurboTax Timmy.

That was my exact thought when I was reading thru his ramblings. He should just ask for an indefinite increase on his credit limit and all his problems will be solved.
-
huh?
pre-paid my therapist for 4 months
you need to get your money back....'cause it's not working.

:lmao: That's what liberals consider "saving for a rainy day".

It's like he was betting on the world ending December 21st to bail him out. What a fool, I have no sympathy at all for him or the States of Kalifornistan or Illinopponesia.
-
First, what economic idiot prepays with a 20% interest rate? A future democrat politician that's who!!
I have confidence 2013 will be a better year for me.
Nope, everything is going to go up because of spending habits like yours at the federal, state, and local level. That $5/gallon gas that 0bama promised, it will be here by April. Meat prices are going to double, maybe triple by the summer. Last but by no means least is your tab to the spendaholics in government will go up at least 30%. The only way 2013 gets better is if you go BK and get those charge cards written off. Unless you have any assets, like the shit you bought on credit.
No, Jukin's crystal ball says that 2013 is going to be very hard on everyone except government employees (just like in the good old USSR) and particularly hard on stupid shits like the DUmpmonkeys, women, minorities, and children. The misery and anguish that those groups will feel is the only solace for responsible people.

I took savings bonds out of the safe deposit box last week, and submitted yesterday after getting the medallion signature guarantees on them.
What does this mean?
I haven't had a savings bond since the 70s.
Never heard of a "medallion signature guarantee".

Medallion signature guarantee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medallion_signature_guarantee)
I had to get one these a few years back when I converted a 401k rollover account to physical gold.

and predictably they will blame all their misery on Bush.

I have a credit card that I use for gasoline, Amazon, and restaurants.
I pay the balance in full every month.
After following this routine for years, and not being a professionally, officially diagnosed lunatic, I'm still stunned by the amount every month.

I bet this primitive secretly hopes that the Mayan "Doomsday" prophecies are true.

When's that supposed to happen? Some time this month, right?

the 21st
Thanks.
It's too bad the primitives don't own anything of real value, otherwise I'd be bidding on them, the primitives selling them now since the world's going to end anyway.

DUmmie idea of saving for a rainy day: having a few dollars credit left on a credit card.

The smartest people on the internet will also have saved a few blank checks too!

I run everything I can through my Cabellas Club credit card and pay it off at the end of the month.
Cost me the same as paying cash and I get free Cabellas stuff. Just got a nice remote start generator for a total of $0.00.
Back in January I got all my turkey frying equipment and some clothes for.......$0.00.
No annual fee and as long as you pay the balance due every month, no interest charges.

Dennis the Menace is a little like the weeping neckbeard.
At the DUmp, his thread has been up for sixteen hours, getting 108 views (mostly from us) and four replies.
Here, this thread has been up for only four hours with 223 views and nineteen replies.
DUmmy Dennis can get a lot more advice on dealing with his lunacy by lurking here than at the DUmp.
Besides, here his audience is made up of decent and civilized people.
In the DUmp's loony bin he's just talking to other lunatics, like his nutty buddy DUmmy Tobin S.

^^^my point exactly.
There's lots of primitives--the most notable being the big guy and my evil twin--who'd get more readership and more reaction over here, than among their own fellow primitives.

3. Yes, this is very sobering, but I'm glad that you can see a path
out from under the financial impact. Many folks can't and are severely punished by the same system that exploited their vulnerability.
Accepting this as something you CAN learn to manage is a really really big deal.
With your current attitude, you can get through this.
:???: :???: :???:
What path is this idiot talking about?
This part?
I haven't even been brave enough to look at my credit card statements for months. Just ignore them when they show up.

"I've cut back on everything I can. I don't understand why I'm going hungry."
Average DUmmy quote. :mental:
I've read similar things from DUmmies outside of the DUmp now for months. Credit cards seem to be their weakness and something they just can't control. Or won't.
Dennis is a prime example of why Bill Clinton once said you can't give money directly to the people because they will waste it.
Exploited my booty.
-
Dumbass.

In addition to tuition forgiveness, they will demand that obama have a credit card forgiveness program as well. After all the mean ole banks are charging 29% interest on all of the poor and downtrodden DUmmies. They will point out that they could donate more money to the democrat party if they weren't so deeply in debt.
-

First of all, he wasn't vulnerable, he was irresponsible.
Second, the reason some people are being crushed is because assholes like this drive up everybody else's interests rates because the CC companies have to recoup the losses.
You are your own worst enemy...
...and ours too because you're dragging us down with you.

More than once DUmmies have suggested that all debt be forgiven and everyone gets a clean slate, even countries that owe money to other countries.

People like this piss the shit out of me. My brother had $60k in CC debt, almost twice his annual GROSS income. Most of it from gambling and buying really expensive photography equipment (that he never uses). PLUS he has student loan debt and a useless degree. He filed bankruptcy on it all except the student loans (you can't file on student loans). He never felt bad about filing bankruptcy, guess his political persuation...
He is now in debt again, is 51 friggen years old and lives with my dad (has for well over 15 years), has been unemployed for a year, hasn't looked for a job and had the nerve to tell me last christmas that "people like me" owed "people like him".

Yeah except this isn't new from him. He has always been a moonbat.

Let's give DUmmie Dennis a little credit here.
He's trying to do his part to stimulate the economy, modeling his plan after Massa Barry's Grand Hopenchange Plan For America.
What could POSSIBLY go wrong? [/DUmode]

Wow - there is some slight hint of possible reality in there:
Self-Inflicted Disaster.
I'm surprised that he isn't blaming Repukes, or evil corporations, or the jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeews, or the 1% - it's not at all typical of DUmmies to acknowledge that they are the cause of all of their problems.
-

Which will only be resolved through a lot of bloodshed. :o

S/h/it freely admits to being diagnosed as crazy so....

...and ours too because you're dragging us down with you.
Amen, amen, AMEN!!! I'll never co-sign another loan or card again. My ex taught me that lesson.
File for divorce, she gets HER (not our--HER) credit card she begged me to co-sign for to pay off, I get everything else. She files for bankruptcy (while the divorce is going on, mind you--big no-no) and then doesn't pay it.
So guess who gets to pay it off now without so much as a **** you very much?
Yeah, never again.
