Post by: franksolich on November 29, 2012, 08:06:13 PM
I picked up five bags of stuff put out by Southeastern Mills of Rome, Georgia.

http://semills.com/

Cheddar Cheese Sauce Mix
Classic Cornbread Mix
Roast Beef Gravy Mix
Cheddar Garlic Biscuit Mix
Buttermilk Pancake Mix

The cost was 5 for $6.50.

Anybody ever try this brand?

Love the bouillon.

They have a corporate culture that my company is working towards achieving ourselves.

I think I mentioned SouthWESTERN when I meant the eastern.     :thatsright:

I use the pancake mix when I go backpacking. It's very convenient, just add water. I love the Peppered Gravy mix and the "regular". I use it for biscuits and gravy. (still can't make gravy worth a damn myself) I'll add in some poultry seasoning to it.

I also use the biscuit mix if I don't have Bisquick for dumplings when I do a Dutch Oven Roast.

When it comes to corn bread, it's very hard to beat Jiffy, with honey, of course.

I think you got a really good buy on those, too.

Okay, I bought more of this stuff yesterday (Friday), because it rocks.

In fact, for supper tonight, I made their cornbread, and on one half slathered peanut butter and the other half sour cream, and damn, both were superlative.

Never heard of it, but I'll look for it when I hit the grocery store again. I normally make my own pancakes (blueberry-buttermilk) and chipotle-buttermilk corn bread. I really have to watch the salt and sugar in anything I buy,so a lot of the pre-packaged stuff is out.
