A painting that features President Obama posed as Jesus Christ crucified on a cross is on display at a community college art gallery in Boston.
The painting by Michael D’Antuono is part of a larger exhibit called “Artists on the Stump – the Road to the White House 2012.†It’s on display at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery until Dec. 15th.
The painting is called “Truth†– and shows the president on the cross with his arms outstretched. A crown of thorns rests on his head.

D’Antuono blamed the controversy on conservative media “trying to promote the idea that liberals believe the president to literally be our savior.â€

7. Regardless of the intent, I do not think this is helpful for the president's public relations.
The artist says that there was no intention to compare President Obama to Jesus, and I take him at his word. But, this instance, along with Jamie Foxx's remark, calling the president, "Our lord and savior, Barack Obama", will serve as ammo to the president's RW critics.
I believe that Foxx, who is a comedian, meant it as a joke, but it is not being portrayed that way. Fortunately, this will soon blow over, since the public has a short attention span.
I think people are good and sick of this shit from the last four years, and you're looking at a backlash.

The problem is they are worshipping him. Go to Prince George's County, MD. The freaks up there actually are engage in what can only be described as worship. They are even actively praying to Barrack Obama to "relieve their suffering."
I tried to point out how wrong that is to a few of them, I was told I couldn't understand it from a black man's perspective. A day of reckoning will soon come.

Quite frankly, It's like Micheal Vick or Vince Young, just million times worse and so much more dangerous. Any criticism of their...."Messiah" is the best word....is met with looks confrontation and accusations of racism. It's absurd, and dangerously, it's true.
On edit: Not just criticism, anything that isn't fawning devotion, like the worst of the DU Obama Brigade, only well, worse.

Obama will be held in judgement by the world and found not worthy.
Obama will have all his followers stand back and watch as he is taken down.

So if Obama really thinks he is the second coming then he needs to to look at what happend to the first coming, I am sure Obama has no intentions of going the way of Christ on a cross, for anyones salvation if it means he has to suffer a paper cut.

Vince Young acted like he was entitled to something in Tennessee and when he was called on it, the black community closed ranks around him and accused people that knew better of racism. Micheal Vick got away with a lot, and blacks still supported him when he was caught red-handed running dog fights. Now, I fear the same thing is going to happen with Josh Freeman, Cam Newton, and Robert Griffith III. All three have the potential to be awesome NFL QBs, but if no one is allowed to criticize their performances then they will be forgotten soon because they won't develop.

It's the same with BO. Had he been developed, and gone back to Illinois as a governor, and learned how to actually coalition build and govern, he may have made a good president, someday. However, crticism was not allowed of him, he was promoted above any demostrated skill or ability, and now we're asll stuck with a president who is openly sneered at in the Middle East and not so openly every where else. Who can't figure out how to get a coalition together and tries to cobble together legislation that no one wants.

Good points. But you have to remember that if he had gone back and been a governor, or even served a full term or two in the Senate, he would have wound up with a record. It's not easy to run as a blank slate (as he did in 2008) with a record, especially the far left one he would have accumulated.
