LOL... we almost had a fight at La Madelaine ...and the liberals won!
We had our Sunday Liberal Women Who Lunch meeting (all 5 of us)...had our usual good conversation.
We were interupted by the woman in the next table who instructed us "to keep it down".
Needless to say,we graciously did not.
She proceded to tell one lady she was a B-tch,and she expected the same from "her kind".
The manager approached and politely guided them to another table. They refused to move. The manager then proceded to tell them his next act would be to call 911... on them. They left. The waitstaff came out and cheered us.
It was fun.

Sure you did. There is no business that will threaten a conservative group over a gaggle of old liberal women. You run the wait staff ragged, make demands, expect them to drop everything and see to your every beck and call and you're lousy tippers.

Oh, and you stink.

And my husband is in the auxiliary!

Why auxiliary? If he's a typical liberal male, he pees sitting down, cries at romantic movies and acts like a bitch every 28 days.

At the checkout I said something like, "God forbid they should have sackers so the checkers don't have to do two jobs. And God forbid they should be paid enough to live on."

Some woman going by me at the checkout line said "Ma'am would you keep your opinions to yourself?" and I thought, "Why?" but I did not say anything. I'm small, (5 foot 2) but this woman was small AND quite scrawny, to the point that I thought she might be using illegal drugs.. I was with my not very tall husband and a very large male friend of ours.

What does this have to do with anything?

Trying to have a nice, quiet celebration dinner out at an upscale Mexican place in a nearby solidly-red town.

The family at the next table (10 adults) were LOUDLY bitching about Obama, complaining that conservatives were "put upon", and claiming that Romney was going to win in a landslide. It got to the point where they ruined my dinner.

My SO and I LOVE to talk politics, but we tend to keep it sotto voce so that those at other tables don't have to listen to us

The exception: right after the election, the only other people at a little local Italian place were sitting on the other side of a small wall. They were LOUDLY complaining that Obama won because he promised the poor "gifts" and I said in my best stage voice "I'm glad Romney didn't promise his rich donors ANYTHING". I noticed the table quieted down for a while.

If the stories they told were bank checks, they'd be thrown in jail for fraud.
Two bongs.

Before the tip, if at all. You know they weren't pleased after the tip.

BTW -- how does she know they were rethugs?

From the OP there's no hint of political leanings. She just assumes since her friends are liberal talking liberal bullshit anyone hushing them must be conservative.

Maybe they were moderates or apolitical or even fellow liberals who just thought loud, boisterous people ruin a good dining experience.

And why would the manager throw out the quiet ones?

I threw out plenty of diners in my day. I once tossed 3 urban cowboys because they were harrassing the tattoo artist with the 23 facial piercings. You don't bounce customers based on who pays the least but on who is disrupting your operation.
