How Can Equitable Pension Reform Be Achieved ?
Let me preface my remarks by saying every American is entitled to a dignified retirement which includes the wherewithal to receive good health care, have a nice place to live, money to occasionally go out to eat, see a movie, go on a vacation, et cetera.
For many retirees the above is a pipe dream.
But what is also troubling is I see corporations and municipalities being buried under the burden of future financial obligations in the form of pensions. States and cities shouldn't have to reduce services like police, libraries, and access to public parks so some retirees can earn much more than current workers.

Why is it the DUmmies think that everything in life should be a guaranteed freebie?
They all want top dollar as soon as the enter the work force, they want the best health coverage at no cost to them, they want 6 weeks vacation time, unlimited sick time, and now they want to retire at 40 and have other people support them for the next 40 to 50 years.
They have no interest in working for what they want and need. They will not give any extra in order to get pay raises, they won't save for their own retirement, and they want to hand the taxpayer the bill for everything because they are entitled.
They are truly useless people.

That post won't go over well on the island.

There was going to be .00001% of pension reform in kalifornia until the donks got a super majority bought and paid for by government public unions. Now it is ZERO. So goeth the leftist hellhole of kalifornia, so goeth the country.

Open up a savings account and start putting in 10% of you income everytime you get paid. Then DON"T touch it until you retire.
-
If retirees are entitled to a "nice" place to live, who lives in the shitty places? The people funding their pensions?

You touch my 401k and IRA and your blood will run in the streets.

Unfortunately, many on the left are thinking about "touching" it to support Their "rights" of others to a luxurious retirement.

For some reason I'm getting a vision of a grasshopper and an ant...

In a perverse sort of way, I'm hoping we go over the "financial cliff". No better, if painfull, way to get rid of a boil than to pierce it.
-
**** "equitable."
You idiots made promises you can't keep.
I want no part of your bullshit schemes. Let me keep my retirement and healthcare money and I promise not to force 10 other tax payers to have to support me.

Pretty close. Go to the People's Republik of Santa Monica, with rent control, restrictions on what kind of houses can be rented, all the shit that needs to be done, and so many other laws which protect tenants over landlords (although that's a common problem EVERYWHERE.)
As the joke goes, "The renters drive Corvettes, and the owners drive Chevettes."

I'll meet you at Galt's Gulch.

I'm getting a vision of a lot of moochtards with a load of post EBT steak filling their drawers as they finally get to see their worst expectations of us come to life.

What's "Equitable" about everyone getting a comfy retirement (On the back of the current earners, apparently), whether they worked their asses off and sacrificed their whole lives, or just smoked dope, ate Cheetos, and lived off handouts the whole time?

I say we warehouse those kinds. Each one gets their own 4x8 space and a bunk. In the case of couples, a 6x8 space and double bunks. Good enough for military boot camp, it's good enough for DUmmies.

Pretty sure that's not what they have in mind.

They'll get a lesson in "The Law of Unintended Consequences," then. O-) :whistling:

People think "free" shit means everyone will be eating steak and lobster and getting top-shelf healthcare, when in reality they'll be getting beans and rice and a pill to go kill themselves when they're no longer of use to the state.

Did ya ever notice who are first to the fields come the revolution? :rotf:
DUmmies really are a clueless lot as we have cataloged in numerous recent posts. Whether it is spending 80K to become a game designer or 60k to learn to be a chef, they are convinced they will be the big frog in a small pond. I have given up counting the number I have known who were going to make it big in; acting, painting, writing, well you get the idea, the temporal trades, no heavy lifting. Where do they ultimately end up? Road kill. Small frogs in a big pond amazed they have to start at the bottom. They plan on a huge inheritance from mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa (and some actually do get one) but again most find out that the money goes to medical care and taxes. No free ride to eazy street for you DUmmy, keep shoveling that pile of crap, that free pony must be under it somewhere.

You ******* right.
There will be serious consequences.
Now, the (D)Ullards will, no doubt, bring up that Argentina did it. Twice. They will leave out the fact that it didn't solve the problem.

Say the primitives who sit around the campfire and wait for the producers to return with dinner for the clan, all the while complaining about fairness for the non-producers who grab the first drumstick.
Guess what:
