The OP is about Bimbo, a Mexican company that is considering buying the Hostess brand. It slowly dawns on the DUmmies that even if Bimbo does buy out Hostess it is not likely to produce the baked goods here in the United States, much less give the union workers their jobs back. But one Dummy has an idea, a brilliant insight that just might save the day:

2. The union can still be used to save this situation for the workers, but it would be very hard
The union could still function as the organizing body of a bakery worker cooperative. They all know how to do their jobs (and could probably snag enough floor management that know how to make the logistics work), there is a bunch of bakery equipment coming up for liquidation sale prices, and there are suitable locations coming available right where the factories currently are. If they put their union's money and their own money together (all of them), they might just have enough to garner external support to buy up what they need to get started. They couldn't sell 'Twinkies', since the brand is being sold to someone else, but they could make similar stuff all they wanted (though hopefully, they would go back to putting banana creme inside...).
It sounds like a pipe dream, but it's not. Manufacturing cooperatives are harder to get started this way, due to the size of the capital investments needed, but there are a growing number of them.
Frankly, a little government investment (ie., some loan guarantees) could really help make this happen.

Face it DUmmies, those jobs are gone and they aren't coming back. Gracias Obama. Own it.

Yeah.

The company offered the union a 25% share of the company. They didn't want to have union workers working for them because they know how unreasonable some are.

A "little" government money....that is funny.
Hey DUmmy, here's an idea, why don't you and all your like minded liberal f-tards pool your money and back this sure fire business plan?
Afraid you might not see a return on your investment, or might not get your money back at all?
Welcome to the real world.

Bain Capital needs to step up and buy Hostess and reopen all the plants as non-union.

Well dummie... the union decided they would rather be unemployed than keep their jobs. Sucks to be them. I guarantee those union folks will never have a better paying job. That is what happens when parasites kill the host... in this case the union is the parasite and the company is the host.
Sucks to be them dummie, but they wanted it, they voted for it, they got it, they own it, dummie. I have no sympathy. And not only that, the union managed to turn another 13,000 plus people against them!!!
Kinda like you dummies and obumbles. You wanted it, you got it, you voted for it, you own it!!! Starve and freeze dummies. Starve and freeze. I have no sympathy. I bet when the next four years pass, you dems are gonna get an education. A real one.
Oh the MSM is talking about the demise of the GOP. Just like they were in 2008, and then 2010 hit and they got an education. This time there will be no young folks and no single women to bail you out. Why? Because you own it.
School is about to be in, dummies, and you will be wearing the dunce hat.
Bookmark this dummies. As teachers are wont to say, you will see this material again.

Bimbo has divisions here all over the U.S. and they are unionized.
It wouldn't surprise me if it was the unions plan all along.

That's not going to happen for the same reason that none of your other pipe dreams about "cooperatives" ever come be. You're not going to risk your capital and put in the long hours needed to get something like that off the ground.
You'd rather walk in off the street to a ready-made job someone else has built, and after you get there, lay claim to partial ownership and an equal share with the boss simply because you're "a worker". Nevermind that you haven't sacrificed or risked shit to build the business.
Well, that and the fact that co-ops usually demand an equal amount of toil from everyone, while unions practically encourage you to be a lazy slob.

Sounds like you are describing a (union)parasite on a Host(ess). But then that's just one man's opinion. :fuelfire:
-
Hostess sat on a great wall
Hostess had a great fall
All the unions money
And all the DUmmies money
Can't put Hostess back together again
-
The union is as entitled as anyone else to make an offer.
I wish to **** they would so we could sit back and watch.
-
unions have the cash to build businesses on their own. they would have already done so if they were willing to risk their money. But they won't. They never will.
Unions are parasites feeding off of other people's work. Union members won't work, and you can't fire them. They make constant demands while never giving a days work in return.
There may have been a time where unions were a blessing, but now they are just a democrat party tax on the working man.

Do these f'n idiots ever learn?

Do these f'n idiots ever learn?
They wouldn't be DUmb****s if they did. :whatever:

If they put their union's money and their own money together (all of them), they might just have enough
They won`t because unlike the people you hate the union bosses have never risked their own money.
They take what they extort from you and buy influence ith party bosses so both can have the fancy lifestyle you wish for and condem when someone else has it.
All that is left to you idiots are a few crumbs, broken promises and a lifetime of bitterness.

The one I put in bold is my favorite. Are you serious? And you DUmmies wonder why companies are closing down, going to non-union states, and leaving the country? Clearly this is a job one truck driver/delivery guy could have done but the union turned it into a two man job. Doubleing the man hours, truck cost, repair cost, gas cost, maintenance, etc...
And here’s what you won't hear the unions ever talk about:
--Hostess paid out almost $100 million in health benefits for retirees last year, but over half of it covered workers who never had worked at Hostess. The Teamsters’ onerous and antiquated “multi-employer pension plan†foists the pension obligations of a bankrupt company on to the balance sheets of surviving rivals—ensuring a steady death spiral in any declining industry. A similar “MEPP†almost killed YRC, one of the largest trucking companies.
--Union rules forced Hostess to run separate truck fleets for delivering bread vs. sweets. A sweets driver, serving a 7-11 store, was forbidden from restocking shelves with breads already delivered and waiting in the back—he had to call for a bread driver to swing by and handle.
--The union restrictions on the 5,500 distribution routes at Hostess made it unprofitable to serve tiny outlets, yet Hostess was barred from using smaller, sleeker—and non-union—distributors.
--Workers were asked to take an 8% pay cut and pay 17% of their health-care costs instead of zero. Welcome to the club, guys. For this, they would have received 25% ownership of Hostess plus $100 million of Hostess debt to be paid back to the unions.

I am surprised nads isn't all over this. I am sure she has Mexican bakery expert in that resume somewhere.
