184. If your goal was to flush out the DU bullies, you have succeeded.
Bullying is unacceptable. Some here justify it by claiming the victim "deserves it". Where have we heard that before? Bullies always use that rationale.
I didnt rec because I dont believe this is the appropriate way to fight bullying. Fight it face on or put them on ignore.
I dont think it appropriate to try to use your donation to force the Admins to do the right thing. Bring it to their attention and if they dont do anything about it and you cant live with it, move on.
I hope you stay to post another day. Put the bullies on ignore.

187. If they're on Ignore, how do you know they're needling you?
I think you're a little unclear on the concept of Ignore.
It is NOT ok to call this poster a dumbass

189. She was shoveling that in her throw-up-hands GBCW thread, too.

208. So if you are successful in getting Nadin out of DU, who gets credit? And who is next?
Texasgal (12,524 posts) Thu Nov 15, 2012, 11:08 PM
190. Symbolic is one thing but thinking the admins are gonna get sued in a court of law is beyond stupid.
Okay, so don't contribute.. okay.. big deal? Is there a reason why you must tell us so?
nadinbrzezinski (111,906 posts) Thu Nov 15, 2012, 11:32 PM
191. You think so?
So you think there is no precedent?
Ok
http://www.huffingtonpost...lying-vict_n_1457918.html
http://www.education.com/...bullying-litigation-help/
You know there are precedents already.
I am not saying I will do that. But the precedent does exist, from schools no less. Did I not mention SCHOOLS? Oh yes, I did. That is where the precedent for this is being built right now. You do realize US Law is precedent based right?
Look, people get way too protective of this site. Like ALL SOCIAL MEDIA SITES, it has it's good sides, and it's darker sides. That is the way it is. Adults usually can speak of the darker sides as well
MY own opinion, the pretension that we have community standards, is just that, pretension. They have not been enforced, at all, and since Juries came around, it is not democracy, it is anarchy.
So let's stop pretending.
Texasgal (12,524 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 01:21 AM
192. Can the bullies or bullied ignore from the click of a button in school?
Do they have choices on where to get an edcuation?
Would this not be simple here Nadin? You could ignore or leave. Two choices there that seem pretty dang easy? Am I wrong?
"So let's stop pretending. " <---- yes, I agree... that would be a very good start.
You have the control here. Ignore or leave. What's the issue?
nadinbrzezinski (111,906 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 02:11 AM
193. The issue is yours
Read the first post you are responding to. What is this with this penchant to tell victims to suck it up?
Here, read it again.
185. Funny, the bullies are on ignore, and have been in a few cases for years
(Hi Sid, Hi Cali, hi Zappaman...) I mention them as examples of those who are and have been on ignore, in one case for over five years. Yet, they keep the needling, which at this point is tragic, but hey, they need a hobby, so be it.
It's a promise I made to Skinner over email the last spat, that I would no longer pay for the privilege of having such a fan club. I am just making sure they know. You see, according to DU rules this allowed behavior supposedly is not allowed, alas it is
As to the owners. They won't do a thing until somebody does something dramatic and they get sued in a court of law. That's the American way. It matters little if this is elementary school, high school, or our current imitation or such on this board. All I have asked for years is that they actually enforce the rules, alas they chose not to.
The other choice, of course won't happen, is that enough others join up and it affects the balance sheet. I expect this to remain purely symbolic, so be it.
Of course, I forgot, there is another choice, stop pretending this place has community standards, that is closer to reality.
Is this clear? Or are you having a problem with the symbolic action.
You know, it's easy, you can accept that yes, some of us will take symbolic acts. Or perhaps you would like to join them. It's an exclusive club of non entities. What is clear is my wallet is closed to DU...is that clear to you? Is that your main problem?
Kali (30,998 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 11:58 AM
196. I would like to see you stop pretending to be some kind of innocent victim.
thank dog a jury has at least locked you out of this latest nadindramaflamethread.
you come and announce your petty "symbolic" act against this site and its owners when all you really had to do was send a PM to Skinner. No this is all about LOOK AT ME! it has nothing to do with real bullying or anything other than you and your over-inflated ego.
Bullying is real, and yes it can and does happen even here at this site. But what happens to you for the most part is ENTIRELY your own doing. Try a little humility for ****'s sake. there ARE people with intelligence and YES real life EXPERIENCE out here reading your ridiculous pronouncements and predictions. Your arrogance and constant demand for attention is what brings out the snark and back-talk you claim is bullying. It isn't bullying. It is push-back for the bullshit you throw around.

197. Brilliant!
Thank you.
Watching this thread and others has been educational. A regular psychodrama played out with keyboards. Though I have been waiting for a video response. I wonder if that will ever happen.

204. you'd think if someone makes up ridiculous shit, and gets busted for it, they wouldn't try to... oh forget it...
zappaman (6,119 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 11:56 AM
195. Uh oh...who done alerted on her post and got it hid?
Damn, now we are gonna get another GBCW OP.
Well, it has been a few months, so I guess we are due...
GoneOffShore (10,285 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 01:07 PM
198. Wasn't me. Thought about it last night, but restrained myself.
Wanted to, and then thought - Why bother? It's Meta and watching the post count climb is interesting - along with the back pedaling and self justification.
rhett o rick (22,888 posts) Sat Nov 17, 2012, 12:47 AM
207. Probably one of the big bad tough guys that have to pick on someone to get their jollies.
I remember them from jr. high. Big tough bullies that need their followers to egg them on. They find someone to pick on and gang bully. They can easily be recognized here in this thread. Sadly pathetic. And I thought that good Democrats were above this behavior.
^^^apparently has the hots for nadin.
apocalypsehow (10,168 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 01:58 PM
199. Oops! Time to start over. Here's the OP, for those who get here after the inevitable self-delete:
"Yay!!!! I am now starless!!!!!
Finally, after ten years of giving money regularly I am now starless.
Good.
And if you have no idea why....well...my way to reward those who have let the bullies do their stuff
Brickbat (13,096 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 02:03 PM
200. Is it possible to self-delete and lock your own thread if you've been locked out of it?
apocalypsehow (10,168 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 02:06 PM
201. For some reason I thought it was possible to do that - but am not sure now that you ask.
SidDithers (23,128 posts) Fri Nov 16, 2012, 02:18 PM
202. Yeah. It is...
posters will often lock the thread they've started if they've been locked out.
Too bad for the oblate spheroid.
