Rockets land in field outside Jerusalem as war looms over Gaza

JERUSALEM –  Two rockets landed in open fields outside of Jerusalem after air raid sirens sounded in the city sending Israelis running for cover.

It is the first time the holy city has ever been targeted by rockets fired by Gaza militants. There does not appear to be any damage, or any reports of causalities.

Could this be signs to come.

I served in the early 60's so I have very little knowledge of the Paladin Tank.  However, I remember the interviews of US Army officers in the Iraq war.  One soldier I heard said the Paladin could get a fix on an incoming missile and put a round ON the launch site.

Anyone have knowledge of the Paladin and if it could be used by the Israelis to respond to the terrorists in Gaza ?

If I'm thinking of the same Paladin, it's a 155mm self propelled artillery piece. It's very accurate, and could theoretically hit a launch site like that while a missle was in flight. The Paladin itself doesn't detect the missle, there are radar systems that do that, then the fire direction center can send out the necessary info to put steel on target fairly quickly.

Following the victory of the Palestinian resistance movement over Israel in the recent war on the Gaza Strip,
Hamas/Gaza promises to stop indiscriminate rocket fire into Israel.
Israel promises to not to continue bombing them into the stone-age, if they stop.
