Romney really does believe that nearly half (47%) of Americans are waiting for a handout
Mitt Romney's misperception of President Obama's 'gifts'

Turns out, Mitt Romney didn’t really mean it when he apologized and said he had been “just completely wrong†about “the 47%.â€
Those who didn’t buy Romney’s October mea culpa for his biggest campaign stumble got confirmation Wednesday that the Republican presidential candidate really did, and does, believe that half of Americans are waiting for a handout.
The first time Romney held forth on America’s moocher class, video captured the moment. This time, on Wednesday, it was the L.A. Times’s Maeve Reston and a New York Times reporter listening in as the Republican presidential nominee again delivered his version of the truth. And again, the audience consisted of the candidate's fat-cat donors.
The onetime private equity magnate would have an “optics†problem if he wanted to run for office ever again. But since he’s done with politics, his latest moment of unintended public candor goes down, instead, as testament to how little Romney understood politics and the American people.

Considering that 51% or so of those who voted, voted for someone who promises handouts it would appear that Romney was right on the money.

1. Problem is, he is not the only one.
The 1% plus a large portion of the republican base believes the same.
How dare we think that? We see you demanding everything for free then we have the nerve to call you moochers.

The only people who do NOT believe that are the 47% who are waiting for a handout. Most of them probably believe it also but are too busy waiting in line for the next handout to speak up.
edit to add: The DUmpmonkeys don't believe it because 0 told them not to when he gave them their handout.

It's not a "handout" when they deserve it.
{in case it's needed} :sarcasm:

Feel free to prove us wrong.

Perhaps not completely. A small percentage is interested mostly in whatever perverted form of marriage they hope activist federal judges will support. Another percentage wants to guarantee the continued ability to murder their unborn children in the womb for mostly convenience's sake, again with the help of federal judges. Of course, some desire a combination of all three.
I mean really, why else would you vote for a Democrat? It's not like they seek to expand personal freedom. They aren't looking to grow an economy that isn't rigidly controlled by government. National defense and law enforcement is an afterthought at best. There's not much that's family-friendly about them.
Nope. Economic slavery, faggotry and murdered babies. That's pretty much their raison d'être.

I would be accused of being racist for this but the facts are the facts...Does any thinking person believe blacks and hispanics voted for O because they thought he was going to enlarge the free enterprise marketplace?

It was about free shit.

It was actually a stupid and thoughtless comment, really, because there are all kinds of people who are on government pensions, Social Security, unemployment, or other forms of gubmint money who are Conservative voters, and I'm sure it pissed off some of them badly enough that they stayed home because they didn't like Obama but also didn't want to be in Romney's crosshairs either. It's a mistake to publicly slap a negative label on half the population and not expect any consequences.

There was a funny song back in 1964. One line in it was "I'm looking for more in '64".
Well, LBJ got elected....he gave them more.....and here 48 years later....they're still looking for more.
-
Romney was wrong. It is 51% of the country that want freebies.
-
I've broken them down into two categories; 1) moochers and 2) moocher-enablers.
.
-
Because half of you truly are waiting for a handout! Geez.
