Obama's re-election causing mental disorders

 Seriously.

I have a good friend whose entire family are Foxers. They watch Fox from morning to night. Right along, he's been getting emails urging him to support Romney to prevent the disaster that Obama would bring.

After the election, he remarked that his family must be going crazy. Little did he realize.

On Wednesday, he was in a very important business meeting, when he got a call from his sister (who almost never calls him) saying she needed to talk to him right away. He panicked, thinking that something had happened to his mom or dad, who are in their 70s.

He excused himself from the meeting and called her back. She started sobbing uncontrollably on the phone. "What are we going to do? What's going to happen to us?" He asked her what she meant and was anything wrong.

She went on, still crying, that it was the end of the country now that "he" got elected. He asked her who "he" was. She said that she couldn't even say his name, but that it was the end of the US. She said the whole family had been on the phone with each other repeatedly since the election was called, crying and screaming. They hadn't been able to sleep or eat.

These are fairly well-off middle class people in the Northeast.

My friend spent a half hour trying to calm her down but was having no success. Of course, they were still glued to Fox and taking the propaganda by the minute.

Finally, all he could say was "Turn off Fox. Turn off the TV. Stay away from the TV."

Fox is really a dangerous, dangerous force in the country.

I give this web of lies 2 bongs for sheer hilarity. I needed the laugh. Much appreciated, nichomachus.  :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

Let's just say that's what I programmed them to think.  I can't wait until Jan. 20, when I deprogram them. :-)

Hmm, the only reaction I'm seeing from Republicans is being pissed off, I'm also seeing the attitude of you're on your own, you voted for this now reap the benefits of it.

You can bet a lot of people are asking "What next?".  And the answer isn't going to be pretty.

Looks like others have the same idea.

Hell with so many affluent area why not at the least let that move up. Now the sequester was a deal, a deal I fully expect them all to break. So, we got ****ed with no spending cuts in August 11, spent the $2.4 trillion in less than 15 months, and will now not even get the first measly spending cut of $80 billion. I remind everyone that by the Continuing Resolutioning Bills, the government still grows a minimum 7% annually. That Jimmy Carter pre-packaged in growth is what is really killing us. Once in a great while the ENTIRE GDP grows 7% annualized but only for a quarter. The government is on an eventual path to total domination. Something Einstein said about compound interest.

There is but one hope and that is to make the country feel some pain. Because it is on auto pilot to fail. Better to fail earlier than later. Think how the EU would be thriving if three years ago they had sawed Greece off? Not have literally burned 500 euro. Not to mention the political capital that has been used.Should have ripped that band aid off fast and not slow.

Keyser Soze OPTION!

Hey, the DOW was up 4 points today after losing over 400 over the past two days. I'm sure Chris Mathews will be pimping this tidbit tonight.

An excellent place to make a worthy donation.  All-volunteer labor force, most paying their own way to go help.  I don't see any pictures of their disaster kitchens, but know they have them...

I know that there are some good conservative people up in that area who need help.  As for the rest of them, who keep voting to ruin the country, I can't believe I'm saying this, but to hell with them.

My dad, a retired pastor, says that the majority of the food that the Red Cross passes out is cooked by the Southern Baptist mobile kitchens.

My ex-FIL, who survived the battle of the bulge, use to say the Red Cross could stick it where the sun don't shine cause they charged for donated donuts.

I guess they still do in a way.

Not to defend the Red Cross, but as Paul Harvey used to write, "....and now, the rest of the story."

There were two organizations that provided coffee and doughnuts to soldiers in England during the second world war.

One of them was the Red Cross; the American Red Cross and the British Red Cross.

(The other was the Salvation Army.)

The British Red Cross was compelled to charge British soldiers for coffee and doughnuts, while at first the American Red Cross gave coffee and doughnuts to American soldiers at no charge.  This caused some bad feelings, and because it wasn't possible to "equalize" the situation by the British Red Cross giving coffee and doughnuts away, the American Red Cross began to charge too, so as to ameliorate any bad feelings.

(The Salvation Army of both nations gave it away.)

So it wasn't as bad as one thinks; Eisenhower had dictated that soldiers of both nations had to be treated equally.

Didn't seem to have ameliorated the ex fil's feelings and I suspect he wasn't the only one.

Somehow that usually happens when one seeks to rationalize one bad policy with another.

My dad was a WWII vet who many times told me exactly the same thing about the Red Cross.
