I have no foreknowledge of him except I think he has been watching the same debate we have about the need for bringing Hispanics into the GOP. Our philosophy already caters to all races, however I understand that being weak on illegal immagration is whats recommended. Can we hope that if we go through another amnesty initiative we can expect enforcement of our border security? I also disapprove of the kneejerk reaction to run someone of a minority group as the antidote to the Democrat lock on the minority vote. It seems two dimensional and unclever. I want the best conservative Republican for the job regardless of their background. If our fiscal platform doesnt attract people of color, other then white, then its certainly the loss of miguided and manipulated people that reject conservatism. The world may change but Ill remain as a rock.

I thought a lot about this yesterday when someone said our philosophy does not appeal to people of color and I realized and told this person that's a 'them' problem not my philosophy's problem. Some things are not changeable like what makes and causes not only the country to prosper but an individual. Human nature is not always good either and as a nation unless we bury ourselves under what do we do by not pointing out and pressuring the lazy(not the decent people) to work harder and do better? I won't even mention the social issues that seem to be in direct conflict with the moral beliefs of many people of color. I told him that is their cultural problem and sickness they've permeated and we've allowed and coddled as a nation  How do you correct it? At this point I don't know to be honest when loyalty is such that the color of your skin and who will throw you a buck matters more then character, national defense, and the shared economy  When I look back through history the only thing that has ever corrected that is force whether by collapse or recognition of such and protecting something by stripping rights from the hopelessly stupid. I'm not endorsing those things but sadly what I don't think these groups see is they are basically leading themselves right back into turmoil and oppression wih their behavior and choices. Maybe not now or in ten or fifty years but someday the cruel boogeyman they make up will come along and motivate that which they claim to be scared of. It's a depressing thought but history bears that out unfortunately. If you are going to make people slaves to half the country whi despises them they will just as readily throw their shackles someday and it's not always a pretty thing when someone says enough. Think of that again liberal minorities: why would anyone colored or not continue as a virtual slave to people who despise them? Your forefathers didn't so what makes you think our children will?

All of them...this kid Jeb ALL of them need to stay away from the GOP for a couple decades and most importantly stop trying to pretend they align themselves with COnservatives.

Just go...enjoy retirement...and take Karl Rove with you.

Core values should never be for sale or a negotiating chip.  FL said it best when she said we all need to get involved if we want to break the moderate, squishy spined, establishment hold on the GOP.

If a group needs to be pandered to, then they don't need conservatism.  If a "conservative" says we need to pander, then that "conservative" needs to go join the party of groups.  Conservatism works on an individual level because groups tend to hold their rank and file down while the leaders do all of the "thinking".  Group think does not mesh with conservatism; it never has, it never will.  We have more groups than individuals at this point and we need to work on individuals in the group, not work with the group itself.

Two moderates ran for president, two moderates lost.  An unyielding marxist ran for president, an unyielding marxist won both times.  That needs to be the takeaway, not how much pandering needs to be done.

Mr George P Bush needs to stay away from national politics.

And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury.
