How Obama won in a weak economy: Voters didn't blame him
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Elections/President/2012/1108/How-Obama-won-in-a-weak-economy-Voters-didn-t-blame-him
The economy was the big issue in the election, and Mitt Romney saw its poor condition as a point of vulnerability for Obama. But in exit polls, only 38 percent of voters blamed the president.
By Mark Trumbull, Staff writer / November 8, 2012
A number of factors are winning attention as important to President Obama’s reelection win, among them the Latino vote, a surge in young voters’ share of the electorate, and a surprise no-show by many white voters whom Republicans were counting on.
Here’s one more teensy little thing that might be added to the list: the economy.
A large majority of voters cited this as the top national issue, and the nation’s historically high unemployment rate was the big vulnerability that challenger Mitt Romney hoped to use as a lever to pry Mr. Obama out of office.

I wonder if the economy will still be Bush's fault in 2016. :whatever:

1. We didn't blame him, AND, I base my vote on a LOT of other issues too.
Yeah funny how it was Bush's fault for the economic downturn of 2000 and 2001, but none of the last 4 years are 0bama's fault. :mental:

4. GOP arrogance at its peak
In 2010, I had a conversation with a Republican co-worker discussing the economy. At one point, he said something like, "Here it comes, it's still all Bush's fault."
Of course, I answered, "It sure as hell is."
This was one of the great underplayed storylines of the campaign. Every poll in my memory over the past three years put the blame for this mess, quite rightly, at Bush's doorstep. Happily, the ignorance of their arrogance cost them, big time.
More like the ignorance of the masses gave us 4 more years of 7.8% unemployment being a good thing. :banghead:

3. Which is absolutely correct.
in fact the only reason it did not get much worse was because of the bold things this administration did.
You are an idiot if you believe that.

5. Smirky Had EIGHT Years to Wreck the Economy
thus our President deserves two terms to make the effort to fix it-- IF congress ever gets off their dead asses...
And all but the last year of those 8 years the economy was doing much better than it has the past 4 years.

6. And the Republicans during Obama's first term
did everything in their power to block, derail, cripple any and all proposals by Obama and the Democrats to get the economy moving again. Their primary objective was to cause this President to fail and they were public and proud of their efforts. They were willing to wreck and destroy this nation if it would help get Obama out of office.
Thanks to congress 0bama only had 7.9% unemployment on election day. If congress had allowed 0bama to do what he wanted to do then it would have been 10% or higher. So congress did Barry a favor. :banghead:

The economy was not at Great Depression stage when Bush left office, and if Dear Leader knew how to lead this would have already been yesterday's news. He doesn't know what he's doing, the next 4 years will prove that, but the libs will still blame the Republicans.
There's the history of the next 4 years in a nutshell. Everything else is just the process of going through it.

When you DUmmies are suffering and shivering in the cold and starving from your Dear Leader's policies you will only have yourselves to blame.
You chose propaganda over thinking. You always choose propaganda over thinking.

I don't really have the time nor inclination to look it up.
Twelve years ago, what was the break down of percentages of blacks that voted R or D?
What was it eight years ago?
Four?
This year?
Did the black vote influence the election? Yes.
Was it race based?

9 months after the election, 9-11 is totally and completely Bush's fault..if he didn't actually MIHOP.
4 years after the election, Obama has no responsibility for high unemployment (despite spending his entire term raising and threatening to raise costs for employers), high debt (despite never passing any budget, taking over GM, and throwing trillions into the toilet for green energy), and the complete failure FEMA is demonstrating in the NorthEast. However, he can claim that the US is exporting oil again (despite his policies that shut down federal lands and the fact that 100% of the increase is from private land).
But note, WE are the "uninformed" voters. :thatsright:

A week ago the unemployment rate went up a point to 7.9% and the non Fox media universally proclaimed it was a good thing. :banghead:
Sadly there is a large portion of the electorate that does not pay any closer attention to things then a headline.
They will be mystified when things collapse as to why.
-
Uh, hate to disagree DUmmy, this voter and millions of others like me blamed him.
I can't help it if the rest of the voters couldn't/wouldn't see the forest from the trees.
I'd like to think in time the DUmmies will come to understand, then I remember they are all style and no substance.
-
Don't forget, there were 16 million fewer voters this time around than in 2008. What that tells me is you've got a bunch of people who simply don't care. Combine that with the moochers and we're in deep doo-doo.

Only due to a 99.5% corrupt and leftist controlled media.
Know who is smiling, Goebbels. Sadly, know who is not smiling, Jimmy Carter.

The MSM didn't bang away at the economy like they would have if a Republican had been in office. Look at how they treated GHWB in the '92 election. It was all they talked about and the economy wasn't nearly as bad as it is today.
-
I hope the Republicans continue to derail Obama. On everything. At the best Boehner should get three or four concessions for any one item Obama wants.
Reid is pretty much the odd man out, now. He can, and should be, ignored.
-
Wrecking the economy will be Obama's swan song.
You cannot fix this kind of free fall in 4 years :

Slim Shady will never, I repeat for the DUmbasses, NEVER, be the President their deranged minds imagine. He's a straight up bamboozler.
He'll go down in flames, started by one of his cigarettes he sneaky smokes.

I do still find it completely amazing that somehow all our problems are the fault of the Republicans...even during the 2 years the Democrats had a super-majority. :mental:

None of this is a surprise to me. We are talking about Liberals, right? The same people still pissed about Floriduh.............how many years after the fact(s).?
As I've said before, they are the epitome of insanity.
Oh, and if things get worse (most likely) it will STILL be Bush's fault, they'll just say "it was far worse than we thought".

I wonder if these 100 laid-off workers (http://www.ksl.com/?sid=22890041&nid=148&title=utah-company-blames-president-obama-for-102-workers-laid-off&s_cid=featured-4) have anything to say about blaming Obama
