This New York Times article about some Democrats "who get it" strongly implies the consequences for Democrats who don't. The last sentence is chilling.

The first few responses are classic.... :whatever:

many who live in rural areas are ignorant, I've lived in rural areas and know first hand it is true.

I don't think it's necessarily hate, I just don't have much use for the ignorant.

2. If we have to concede the ignorant vote to the Republicans,
then it is in our party's best interests to put education at the top of a long list of priorities.
The better educated people are, the more likely they are to vote with the Democrats, because our agenda favors the ordinary citizen. They have to be able to realize when they are being suckered with wedge issues that make them vote against their interests.

No,your agenda favors those that wish to be at the top of the heap without doing squat to get there. :bird:

64. I'm sorry, what lesson is it the ignorant are supposed to teach?
I don't deny the inherent worth of ignorant people as people. Most are ignorant because they chose to remain ignorant, and of course ignorance is not limited to rural inhabitants, it just seems by some to be revered there.

Compare urban to rural crime and tell me which is more desireable DUmbfuk.

Typical ignorant observation of a "so-called" liberal. Judging the ignorant, while willfully ignorant of their own ignorance. If it weren't so predictably laughable, it would be pathetic.

Stereotypical monochromatic non-thinking, by using racist profiles by professed non-racists.

So......Obamite.

What....? :mental:

3. Rural America has been given a disproportionate amount of
power in the electoral college. That isn't in America's best interests.

It is just the opposite fear that compelled our founders to do what they did with the electoral college.
You have proved them to be very wise.

Funny thread as once again they contort themselves in their efforts to deny the things which they say. :-)

By "ignorant" you mean those not indoctrinated using leftist propaganda and those who don't buy the leftist spin on every piece of data that comes out of Washington.

You don't have the slightest clue what anyone else's "interests" are. Therein lies the unmitigated arrogance of you liberals. I know this may come as a shock to you, but not everyone's "interests" are the same as your own. It might further shock you to know that there's a large body of us out here who don't hate The Rich just because they're, well, rich, and whose interests are not what government can give us, but how much government can just leave us the eff alone.

The pollen primitive doesn't know shit.

I checked the census statistics for this county in Nebraska, a rural county with just one town of 1500 people; the county as a whole has circa 6,000 people.

100% high-school graduation rate.  Yeah, that's exactly right, one hundred percent.

Of those over 21 years of age, 82% have at least a two-year college degree.

Of those over 21 years of age, 63% have at least a four-year college degree.

The pollen primitive is full of shit.

The pollen primitive, and the el finko primitive, both of whom have allegedly lived in small towns, have some serious psychological problems; they don't like diversity.  Also Oscar Wilde (the large-proboscised primitive, "Cyrano") doesn't like his rural relatives, but Oscar's never mentioned living in a small town.

And in response to Johnny Reb's question, the county is 20% of Texan derivation, and 1% of original African derivation.  Those of Texan derivation are of all ages and backgrounds, those of original African derivation are middle-aged or older.  Those of Texan derivation have been around a while; those of original African derivation are mostly retired police officers and factory workers from blue cities, whatnot, who wanted some peace and quiet out here in the Sandhills, and came here from circa 1990 on; it's not that these are newcomers.

I wonder where these people think the food for their tables comes from.  The grocery store?   :banghead:  Maybe they had better quit eating before they catch a case of the ignorant.
