Title: WAL-MART deal maybe not such a deal?
Post by: JohnnyReb on November 05, 2012, 07:58:01 AM
Bought a new Toshiba laptop at WAL-MART....price $248.00. Came with a 30 or 60 day free trial of windows 8 and then you have to buy it....same for Norton antivirus.....wife went ahead and bought "windows 8 pro" at about $70....I guess I'll soon have to purchase some antivirus stuff and the bargain ain't gonna be such a bargain after all......

So far so good, real fast but us old farts have trouble learning new ways. This is quite a jump from windows 98 and the sons windows 7.

Now where can  find some free card games like solitaire and hearts to make the wife happy?......oh, that's nice....it seems to underline in red your misspelled words......so now, where is spell check on this system? .....thankfully CC has it own spell check for the mentally deficient electronically handicapped. :-)

You should be able to pick up some free card games via  CNET  (http://download.cnet.com/windows/cards-lottery/3150-2647_4-0.html?filter=licenseName%3D%22Free%22|&filterName=licenseName%3DFree|&rpp=&sort=&tag=narrow)

I wasn't aware that Win 8 (or more likely whatever version of IE it is bundled with) had a spell checker. Better late than never eh.

If it works the same as the one in firefox you should be able to right-click the red underlined word for spelling suggestions.

if you click on the windows on the lower left of your screen, go to accessories, then click on games...
