I found an AMEX card today
Was taking the dogs to the dogpark in the city north of me and while walking on the road a looked down in the grass and for some reason saw an American Express card, don't even know why I looked down, you could hardly see it. It was a current card and had the photo of a woman on it. When I got back home I did some intensive googling and found her email, address, business owner of a big tree and Xmas tree farm in the area and found her list of campaign contributions - last year $42,000, all to Repukes.
I sent her an email and asked her if she had lost something and let me know what it was for identification; sure enough, she said she had misplaced her Amex, still didn't even know it was lost. I emailed her back and told her where I had found it and she said that she was a bigwig at the Repuke HQ In MT and thought she had left it there but probably dropped it whille she was straightening up republican yard signs ,said I could leave it off at a certain business since they knew her and she "practically owned them"...can you imagine?
I told her since I did not live in her city I would mail it back to her. I INTEND TO MAIL IT BACK AFTER THE ELECTION WRAPPED IN AN OBAMA, JON TESTER AND STEVE BULLOCK FLYER.
OMG, WHY DID I EVEN PICK UP THAT CARD

The story approximately 100% bullshit.

Street-cred election bouncy. One bong.
:stoner:
-
Gee. What are the chances?
-
On the off chance that this :bs: story is true, how pathetic do you have to be to politicize somebody losing their credit card. Just mail the stupid thing back to her.
-
Speaking of "intensive googling" :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: it only took a few seconds to find the Montana GOP headquarters in Helena, and a minute or so to drop them a note on the "Contact Us" page.

I find this all too unbelievable. I think the DUmmie found it IN THE PERSON'S wallet after releasing it from the person's purse. A pickpocket DUmmie. :hammer:

Amex cards can have a picture of the holder on them?

Just out of curiosity, it's been a while since I've had an AMEX card, I didn't realize they had a photo of the owner? :???:

...and should have mailed it back without any preconditions, or just called AMEX and reported it. But maybe I expect more maturity from our side.

We get a AMEX "pre-approved offer" about twice a week. I seem to remember a smiling face staring at me from one of the sample cards.

I found a Mastercard last year. Recognized the name, took it home, asked my dad where the guy lived, dropped it off and bs'd for an hour.
-
I would never think to look up someone's political contributions before returning an item I found. This is either BS or this person is a POS.
-
Uh oh.

You must not read much at DU if you expect maturity on your side.

Amex Gold member since 1988 and there are no pictures that I am aware of even being offered for it.

Here's some more of that "maturity" brooklynite was looking for.

32. Shred the card. And mail it back. With a lie:
That she has made a $50,000 donation to the Democratic Party of Montana in her name.
-
I'm having trouble suspending disbelief over (1) looking up a stranger's political contribution history before you contact them, and (2) said stranger going off into a discussion of her political involvements unprompted while talking to someone she doesn't know and who has something she wants back.
-

I "googled" it and don't find any AMEX cards with photos. I don't know what I am remembering. :p

The only thing close that I found are gift cards that can have a picture put on them, and reloadable cards for college kids.
-
I've had AMEX cards since the 70s. Never heard of one with a photo. Who would take the photo? DUmmies lie, all the time. Especially queer cowboy DUmmies.
-
Here's some more of that "maturity" brooklynite was looking for.
Assuming this happened, which I doubt with every fiber of my being, I would hope the DUmmie takes either one of these suggestions. A federal credit card fraud conviction would be nice for the DUmmie's dating life. Hell, just holding onto the card for 3 days is probably skirting the law on that. And you've contacted the victim by email from your home IP. Gonna be hard to say it wasn't you that had the card when charges were made.
-

That was hilarious.

Just out of curiosity, it's been a while since I've had an AMEX card, I didn't realize they had a photo of the owner? :???:
Heh...just remembered. We had them (issued of all things) to us when I was on AGR status with the ILARNG. They were for reimbursable travel expenses which we did a lot of (Motels, meals, fuel etc...). No picture.
...and woe to thee who used it for something other than Official Government Business. Saw two guys get canned within two weeks of using it at Wal Mart and the other at a bar.
-
Regarding pictures on credit cards, it does exist. They are typically tiny little pictures in the upper right hand side of the card. I've never seen pictures on an AMEX, but have seen pictures on certain VISA cards.
-
The only CC I know of that had your pic on it was Citibank Mastercard. I got one back in 93 or 94. I dropped them back in 2009 when they told me they were gonna start charging me for having the thing unless I charged $2400 a year on it. Got Gupta in India on the phone and canceled it.
Now... if I found a CC laying in the grass, I would call the CC company, tell them I found it, tell them to cancel the account and notify the CC owner.
I don't believe this story for a second. Dummies lie. Dummies lie all the time. Dummies lie even when it doesn't benefit them to lie.
-
Decent people would have called her or AMEX and sent the card back.
That's what I would have done.
-

Dummies are not decent people. I'm beginning to wonder if dummies even are people. I think they are liberal zombies myself. :cheersmate:
-
If someone called me telling me they found my credit card I would not wait by the mail box.
I would simply call and report the card missing ASAP.
If I knew it was a DUmmy that found it....I might report it stolen. :lmao:
-
Before that cards gets back I'd either cancel it or put a fraud alert on it to make sure that DUmmie doesn't decide to go on a shopping spree with it.
Assuming the story is even the least bit credible that is.
-
Amex Gold member since 1988 and there are no pictures that I am aware of even being offered for it.
I think they do offer the picture option, and she is a business owner so I would imagine it is a business card. Oh, and she would have canceled the card immediately upon realizing she lost it - especially if some freak contacted her.

40. You couldn't just call and report it found? What motivated you to check her political affiliation?
View profile
Did you just assume AMEX=republican?
So you did some "intensive" googling... whatever for? 8 people out of 10 would simply call AMEX and follow their instructions, but you felt the need for some intense googling and simply HAD to know her political affiliation and who she'd contributed to. Odd to say the least.
Assuming the republican HQ in Montana is in Helena, isn't she a long way away from the nearest christmas tree farm? According to the map, it's almost 200 miles from Helena. And you're saying she just came out of the blue and said "I'm a bigwig" at the republican party headquarters, and dropped it straightening yard signs? Strange for anyone to just volunteer the bigwig part...
Cool story though Bro.
-
My Costco/AMEX has my pic on it.
-
...bigwig at the Repuke HQ In MT
I called the RNC in Helena. It's real simple. NOBODY there had lost an American Express card, and if they did, they would have cancelled it (like most people) and been issued a new one. No reason to get high and mighty like this bouncy mousy.
-
Pure bullshit.
I have tow AMEXs and no picture on them. Never had them ask if I wanted a picture.
What was the real purpose of this lie other than to get DUche cred?
-
 Cherokeeprogressive gets them every time.
So does GOP Congress.
-
I'm surprised the primitive didn't add "so I took the card to the library, and used it to make a few donations to Obama to counteract the hate" to the bouncy.
-
I have to agree with others, this story is pure :bs:
The primitives just aren't putting any effort in to their bouncy anymore.
Zero bongs.
