Where I came from, we used an all-purpose word for any plurality, group, herd, or large quantity.

"Shitload".

Used in a sentence: "You got a shitload of pheasants there."

Note #1: a shitload is not synonymous with "a load of shit". A load of shit refers to an untruth or an impossibility.

Note #2: the word shitload cannot be used to describe an aggregation of excrement. "You got a shitload of shit there" is not acceptable.

And a shitload is roughly equivalent to 2 1/2 buttloads.

Bull, you run into a small farmer driving a very small tractor pulling a ton of cow manure to spread on his fields and ask him, what have you in the in the trailer and most likely he will say it is a shit load of shit.

But in NC if you dig into the shit you my find a few hundred bags of pot underneath.  Swamp grass they call it or did 40 years ago.

In the military, we have transferred over to the metric system...Metric shitload, metric ****ton, etc.

Most guys still use the traditional Imperial measurement of shitload for approximations.

I'm old school that way. It works well enough to put hot shit on target.

I think that "shitload" , "shitton" and "****lot" are truly universal terms.

Much like the popular term in construction for a very small distance is a "c**thair".

C**t hair can be refined even further,  red, blonde or brunette.
