Here is a Biblical passage the right tends to ignore.

They really don't pay too much attention to the Sermon on the Mount - it tends to get a little inconvenient.

Matthew 5: 19 - 24

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

DUmmies trying to act like they have a clue about the Bible.  :rotf:

Seriously DUmmies which way can they serve God better? By giving to those who are in need, or having the government take it from them and piss it away?

1. They don't seem to pay any attention to the 9th commandment either

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

And Democrats follow that?

3. So many verses and examples they conveniently forget or ignore...

like all those moochers getting fed free of charge on the mount ...and all those sick getting healed without paying for health insurance ...Jesus hanging with all those bad people ...whores, tax collectors, thieves, lepers, handicapped, blind, possessed, ect. ...pissing off the high priests.

And yet Jesus didn't take from the rich in order to any of that. The little boy freely gave his lunch over to Jesus, Jesus didn't take it from him.

Once again the people who never step near a church and hate christians try to tell the people who do go to church what they should believe. Nice try, hypocrites.

Jesus declared Himself the path to salvation, that was His message.
Why do you Biblical scholars at the DUmp ignore that?

Matthew 5:19-24 KJV

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

If their Bible has that for Matthew 5:19-24 they need to throw it away and buy a new one. Even NIV isn't what they quoted.

19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’

22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,

24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

I think they must have meant Matthew 6:19-24

19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

That's nice.

First, They put Matthew 5 instead of 6, and then they forget the rest of the chapter, especially the actual MEANING of the chapter.

Matthew 6:25-34 (ESV)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?7 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

OK, I'm not a Bible Scholar but doesn't Luke have a point ?

Luke 16:10

Quote
10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?

Sounds like he is talking about democrat waste.

"Mark you this, Bassanio,
The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness

A goodly apple rotten at the heart:

O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!"

The bible has 155 verses about listening to lies.  They need to read up on those too.

My favorite one;

Matthew 7:5

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Hmmm. A number of good verses are quoted here.

These are the people who believe that killing babies is not a sin but a moral right. And these people have the gall to quote God's Word at us? Why is it always those who do not believe who claim they know more than those who do?

Giving them scripture in answer may be a futile effort, DUmmies despise the True Word of God.
Matthew 7:6
“ Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

About Bible quoting socialists/commies/unbelieving DUmmies:
"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple."
Romans 16:17-18 (NKJV)

More about DUmmies and their desire to manipulate with the Word of God:
Galations 1:6-9 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!

DUmmy lurkers beware.
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Slightly off-topic here, but as most know, many of the primitives are compulsive packrats, hoarders--especially the eBay primitives.

How does one suppose they reconcile that with

I cant believe that we are debating our adherance to the bible with the party that espouses Roe vs Wade. Jesus, the son of God, spread the faith and ascended to heaven. Our system is backed with christianity as evidenced by the value and respect we place in the individual. As a result we believe in peoples free will and freedom, unlike our opponents.

Has anyone seen the ad on TV for a Bible that is advertised as has been used before the King James version??

According to the seller this is the very version brought to America by our founding ancestors.

As difficult as the KJ Bible is to understand with all its Thys and old time way of speaking, I would imagine the before the KJ would be a nightmare to interpret .

I was given THE BOOK years ago, now I understand another version has come out in the last few years,  not an easy task to bring into today's world the history of not just the last 2,000 years but the eye wittiness accounts of 20,000+ years ago and the different languages they spoke and wrote in,  for those that could read and write.

I daré them to find one verse where Jesus teaches to go to Ceaser for support, to demand their rich neighbors be taxed to support those that will not work, to look to government to kill your children, or to force employers to provide abortion to all.

Gotta love when DU's rabid atheists who hate and spit on Christians and call them idiots for believing in God then try and lecture them on what the Bible says.
