Disney buys Lucasfilm for $4.05B
Media giant Disney has purchased movie and TV production house Lucasfilm for $4.05B in cash and stock. Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga. Lucasfilm founder George Lucas will act as a creative consultant for the next film.
Disney plans to release a Star Wars film every one to three years from 2015 on. Disney says that the three most recent Star Wars films would have averaged about $1.5 billion in today’s box office dollars, adjusted for inflation.

#disneystarwars They could remake Old Yeller with Jar Jar Binks and give it a happy ending.

Ewoks, Jar-Jar, wasting Liam Neeson's and Ewan McGregor's talents, penning one of the worst plots (The Phantom Menace) ever (a trade war, George?), choosing the vapid Haydn Christensen to be a teenaged Darth Vader, etc. etc. etc. I don't see how Disney could commit greater crimes. :whistling:

Briefly I was excited to see a new Star Wars movie was being made. Then I thought they would just screw that one up too.
People hated Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull but it was still an Indiana Jones movie and I liked it.
Star Wars just really crashed and burned with Episode 1. Episode 3 was only good by comparison.

I can't wait for the animated musical. :hyper:

Not me. I'll wait for the $2 Redbox. I learned my lesson after The Phantom Menace.

I have high hopes for this. Maybe they'll reboot star wars to where it makes sense and is enjoyable.
By the way, Avengers was a disney movie and it was awesome.

Bingo! This can only help a failed franchise.

The only "Avengers" I want to see is the Brit TV series done in the Sixties starring Patrick MacNee and Diana  Rigg. The rest of that Lucas bullshit is a colossal waste of time. :whatever:

Hey! I work alone.

Or...an ABC Afternoon Special! :???:
The Olsen Twins and the Resurrection of Darth Vader: chain-smoking 20-something anorexics learn about lung disease and eating disorders from the asthmatic Darth Vader, resurrected through the magic of DNA and restored to health, after wearing himself down to a 99-pound weakling inside that robot suit. :o

Wish I could take credit for this, but it was from Glenn Beck:
Now, at Disney, when you wish upon a star, it's the Death Star.

Disney-themed Star Wars movies... shoot them now!
Having seen what they did with Pirates and the Marvel Comics franchise, I consider the above to be a "FIFY".
