Another Chicago minister is causing headaches for Barack Obama after he told the Democratic candidate’s church congregation Sunday that Hillary Clinton felt entitled to the presidency because she’s white.
Catholic pastor Michael Pfleger, who is white, issued a formal apology for his sermon Thursday after Obama put out a statement saying he was “deeply disappointed†by Pfleger’s remarks at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago.
“I regret the words I chose on Sunday. These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama’s life and message, and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them,†Pfleger said.
That was after a video of his sermon was posted on YouTube.
In it, Pfleger mocked Clinton for getting choked up on camera before the New Hampshire primary in January.
“When Hillary was crying … I really don’t believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white. And this is mine’,†he said, shouting at times. “Then out of nowhere came, ‘Hey I’m Barack Obama’. And she said, ‘Oh damn! Where did you come from? I’m white! I’m entitled! There’s a black man stealing my show’!â€
After that, he simulated Clinton crying and then said: “She wasn’t the only one crying. There was a whole lot of white people crying … I’m sorry. I don’t wanna get you in any more trouble. The live streaming just went out again.â€
He also said at one point, “America has been raping people of color and America has to pay the price for the rape. “

Obama "deeply disappointed" in Father Michael Pfleger (http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/05/obama_deeply_disappointed_in_f_1.html)
UPDATE Pfleger apology.
WASHINGTON--Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) said in a statement he was "deeply disappointed" in Father Michael Pfleger, after the priest --in a scene caught on videotape-- mocked Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y) from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago--the home church of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. UPDATE Click below for Pfleger apology
“As I have traveled this country, I've been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that that unites us. That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger's divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn't reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause," Obama said in a statement.

Amazing how so called "religious" people like Wright and Pfleger don't have all of this "regret" when they are belching out those hateful screeds against this country.

Does he really think he's black?:
Pastor Otis Moss: He needs no introduction. He’s a friend of Trinity, he’s a brother beloved. He’s a preacher par excellence. He’s a prophetic, powerful pulpiteer. He is our friend. He is our brother. He is none other than Father Michael Pfleger. (Crowd on its feet, standing ovation, loud applause). We welcome him once again…
…Pfleger: [Unintelligible] to address the one who says, “Well, don’t hold me responsible (gesticulating) for what my ancestors did. But you have enjoyed the benefits of what your ancestors did and unless you are ready to give up the benefits (voice rising), throw away your 401 fund, throw away your trust fund, throw away all the money you put into the company you WALKED INTO BECAUSE YO’ DADDY AND YO’ GRANDDADDY AND YO’ GREATGRANDDADDY–(screaming at the top of his lungs)–UNLESS YOU’RE WILLING TO GIVE UP THE BENEFITS, THEN YOU MUST BE REPSONSIBLE FOR WHAT WAS DONE IN YOUR GENERATION ‘CUZ YOU ARE THE BENEFICIARY OF THIS INSURANCE POLICY! (Wild gestures, wild applause).
…We must be honest enough to expose white entitlement and supremacy wherever it raises its head.
I said before I don’t want this to be politica because, you know, I’m very unpolitical (mocking tone, huge laughter).
…When Hillary was crying (gesturing tears, uproarious laughter from audience)–and people said that was put on–I really don’t believe it was put on.
I really believe that she just always thought ‘This is mine’ (laughter, hoots). ‘I’m Bill’s wife. I’m WHITE. And this is mine. And I jus’ gotta get up. And step into the plate. And then out of nowhere came, ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama.’ And she said: ‘Oh, damn!’ WHERE DID YOU COME FROM!?!?! (Crowd going nuts, Pfleger screaming). I’M WHITE! I’M ENTITLED! THERE’S A BLACK MAN STEALING MY SHOW. (SOBS!) SHE WASN’T THE ONLY ONE CRYING! THERE WAS A WHOLE LOTTA WHITE PEOPLE CRYING!

If there's anything I hate with a passion, it's self hating white people. Why do we let white people do this? Hell, white people... why do YOU let other white people do this to ya'll?? At least black and gay people try to ostracize theirs. . .though sometimes they confuse "conservative" with "self-hating" . . . <_<

the standard MSM line is that this guy is a much more distant associate of Obama than Rev. Wrong, the
implication being that, since the Wright thing blew over, this should be dismissed out of hand..
there is a sickening, self ratifying circularity to that line of reasoning, since the MSM are the ones that let
him off the hook for the Wright thing in the first place.
politically, that was just staggeringly stupid. what was that guy thinking? this reinforces every question that
anyone may have about obama's judgment regarding his personal associations, and really does make one wonder
just what the hell goes on at that church on a regular basis.

Did they take up a love offering for the white hate spewer? If they did, he probably made out like a bandit. Birds of a feather and all that stuff.

After watching the tape of Rev. Wright , I do not wonder. When he spouted out his G.D. America and his other race baiting crap, the congregation was up clapping, juking and jiving in delight and approval. What I wonder is how people are so damn stupid to excuse Obama of his 20 years of association with someone that has these racist views. Most of the congregation approved of Wright's so called sermon. Then you have this trashy white honkey going to the same church and parroting the same stuff. Birds of a feather flock together; both Obama's have no love for this country, and both are racist in my opinion. The media is doing their damnest to guilt trip whites into voting for this turkey.

That church certainly needs to strike the "christian" out of their names. Nothing Christian about their hatred. And, Obmalama should not delude himself into thinking his explanations and "disassociations" have gained him any sympathy. Well, at least he put his "flag pin" on. I bet it made him nauseaous but he managed to get it on the ole lapel! :rotf:
-
I think it was more about it being videotaped and spread around than actually being sorry for saying what he said.
Another albatross around Obama's scrawny neck!
Not long ago Hitlery was claiming her campaign had some dirt on Obama and were just waiting for the right moment to release it.
Funnier still is many democrats DO NOT want to properly vett Obama. They believe that they know everything there is to know about it and they would no doubt dismiss out of hand anything which would taint Obama.

Hi5 and this doesn't make old Barry look any better. Its sad to see a church of any kind being led by people filled with that much hate and followed by so many sheeples.

the good fr. has been taken to the woodshed by the cardinal.
Cardinal Francis George of the Archdiocese of Chicago just issued this statement about Father Michael Pfleger's ridicule of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in a sermon at the church of Sen. Barack Obama, Trinity United Church of Christ, on Sunday:
"The Catholic Church does not endorse political candidates. Consequently, while a priest must speak to political issues that are also moral, he may not endorse candidates nor engage in partisan campaigning.
"Racial issues are both political and moral and are also highly charged. Words can be differently interpreted, but Fr. Pfleger’s remarks about Senator Clinton are both partisan and amount to a personal attack. I regret that deeply.
"To avoid months of turmoil in the church, Fr. Pfleger has promised me that he will not enter into campaigning, will not publicly mention any candidate by name and will abide by the discipline common to all catholic priests."

The Govt needs to take away the Tax benefits from these churches and ministers that use their pulpit to play politics. Politics DO NOT belong in the Church, at least during the services. While I'm all for freedom of speech and fully support the Constitution, there is a fine line where the church should go in regards to politics. Bill Clinton played the Church card a lot during his campaigns, IMHO, violating the laws of the land. The Democrats seem to think that they are free to violate any laws they want and escape, unscathed and without punishment. It's really time for us to stand up and take back our country!!!

Standard issue liberal (non) apology. They never apologize for the actual statement, but rather the fact that they upset someone. A true apology would would be "I apologize for my words and retract this statement. I do not believe mrs. clinton is the result of White entitlement -- my enthusiasm at the moment overrode my mouth."
That will be the day.

There is a difference between free speech and subsidized speech. The tax breaks churches get end up being political contributions the moment they enter the political arena. That means they are subject to oversight. It also means we, the taxpayers, are subsidizing the campaign of whomever the church/pastor is supporting.
You take my money, I get to have a say in how you use it.

I saw this dope on FoxNews defending Wright and Farakhan. Dumbest shit I've ever seen, a white Catholic priest preaching like a black baptist preacher. Mannerisms and vocally.
