I had wondered what the buttons you see here on the right were in my car.

I figured out the one next to the trunk button was the steering wheel heater about a week go (I have had this car for about 6 months). This morning I was waiting for my daughter to come out so I could drive her to school so I decided to push the one on the left. It made an odd noise so I pushed it again and the same noise. I did it again then turned my head...

Pushed it again and back down.

How stupid am I that I didn't even know my car has a steering wheel heater and a sun shade for the back window until now?

You're killing me Smalls! :lmao:

And I was talking about the left not the right. I swear I have dyslexia IRL.

I don't spend much time looking at the manual and learing about the bells and whistles of vehicles I own. That's one reason God gave me children. They love playing with that stuff and showing what they find.

I almost had to get out the manual not too long ago. Since I have been driving my husband to work some days I have had to stop for gas on the way a couple of times. The times he was in the car he couldn't get the door to the gas cap open (you push it and it opens). I was like "come on, I never have this problem". I get out and can't get it open. We both try and try, give up and I drive him to work on gas fumes. After the 2nd time I get gas on the way home from dropping him off, the door opens. I think to myself, what is different now compared to when my husband tried to put gas in my car?
I shut off my car when I get gas. When my husband got out to put gas in it I left it on because I was sitting in the drivers seat. So I did a test with my car on, it wouldn't open. Turned it off and it opened. :thatsright:

You are always supposed to turn the car off while filling it.

I know, I didn't think of shutting it off because I was sitting in the drivers seat. Normally I turn off my car, get out and open the gas cap. It was not my normal routine because my husband was in the passenger seat and got out to put gas in my car. I was on auto pilot.

Does it brew your coffee for you too?

The Mercedes people don't take our vast and different climates into mind as they design and produce their wares across the pond.

The other switch is to turn off your traction control

I love that shade thingy button. I want one for my car. How neat. No need for a steering wheel warmer here either... but it's really cool.

From someone that worked at a car dealership for 5 years....ha! :lmao:
I will admit one thing. On my VW Beetle there was a button you pushed to get the flap thingy to unlock to fuel up. After I bought my Tiguan, it was a week or so later, I've pulled up to the gas station. I look, there's no button! THERE'S NO BUTTON!!!! I had to text my friend and ask how do I unlock it! Yeah...you just press on the section and it pops open to reveal the gas cap.

the flap thingy
I rented that damn VW earlier this year and had to check the owner's manual to open the fuel filler door.

I never noticed until I was goofing off online, that the Tiguan's door key hole is hidden. You have to pop off this cover thing for it. I love my Volkswagen though.

:-) :-) :-), Oh the storys I can tell of buying used cars with no manuals and the years of frustrations. Worse one was when Hubby bought a 64 Corvet Stingray convertable. This had to be 1967 or so. I decided to drive up north to visit family and on the way stopped to get gas. I pulled into a small station some where in the boondocks, got out and circled the auto twice and could find nowhere to pump in gas. The young kid tending the station came out to help me and check out the car itself. First one he had seen of these machines way up there.
The kid kept saying WOW,WOW, but he could not find the fill up opening either. Finally he went in and called his dad, he came back out and with much aplome flipped up the back licence plate------TA-DA there it was.

All those cars were influenced by James Bond back then.

I had one for work about two years ago, and had to do the same thing. :o

The 55 and 56 Chivys (and maybe other GM products) had the filler behind the left tail light. The tail light flipped down after you turned the lever (?) of the light assembly.

I figured that out with out touching it or looking in the manual (because of the squiggly lines). :-)

I forget what else I had to look up. It took me way too long to figure out how to adjust the seat.
