This is the thread for debate #3 and the reactions from the members of the Democrat Party and Democratic Underground and Twitter.
-
shouldnt there already be a bunch of "reactions" claiming Obama won the debate?
-
:lmao:
-
This one will be fun.
I can't wait for the spin in their world.
-
I dunno I'm not so confident that Romney can even get through this last debate, much less win the damn thing. I mean how in the hell can he counter the Romnesia comment, and whatever Allred has up her sleeve. RMoney is dooooooooomed!!!!!1111

I ain't making no predictions.
I plan to rely upon Baghdad Bob, the Prosense primitive, to tell me what's going on.

My prediction is, we will think Romney won, the DUmp will claim 0bama won.
Unless we get sleepy 0bama again. :-)

I'm sensing--not predicting--that Skins's island is going to go behind curtains again tomorrow night.

The UN will claim that obama won. Then when obama will kiss their ass, and Romney won't. They will say that obama won.
-
Okay, my usual and standard caution here.
Things have been going good, really good, for Mitt Romney since he got the Republican nomination.
There hasn't been a bump in the road.
But there's still 15 days before the elections, and anything can happen.
If and when it does, just keep your heads; bumps on the road to winning are a fact of life.
If something one doesn't want to happen, happens, just accept, adapt, and move on.
Persistence, tenacity, constantly plugging away, wins.

I think the RSquared ticket has that covered, Coach. :yahoo:

Thank you, sir, because that's exactly what I mean.
According to Baghdad Bob, the Prosense primitive, Barack Milhous is going to wipe the floor with Mitt Romney tonight, and so I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

The Foreign Policy Debate will be the last nail in barky's coffin unless Romney manages to hit laughing gas and pull a Biden. I cannot, for the life of me, see how obama can possibly do anything other than shove his foot further down his throat.
I do believe that after the FP debate, you will see the rats kicking and punching each other to get off the sinking boat first.

Some of them will be chaining themselves to the helm, and demanding that the others do the same.

You know, I just don't understand this "keep calm and" crap. It used to be (kinda) cute but now it's applied to everything. I mean, it's not The Force or anything. Every time I see another sign telling me to "keep calm and..." I seriously want to punch someone. It's like the way overused trend of women with long necks and some kid wearing a dunce cap and/or butterfly wings in art journals. There's a point at which something is overused so much that it is no longer inspirational, humorous or creative. Pretty much like our current administration.

I just saw Wesley Clark on FNC harping on Romney's lack of experience in foreign affairs. Pretty sure that Romney has more experience dealing with foreign countries as a business man than Obama had as a community organizer. Then again , we have Obama's failed foreign policy record.
-
This will be the place to post all the delicious thread titles, single post, DUmbfounded responces, etc. Tonight is about Foreign policy, so I HIGHLY doubt Obama can hold a candle to Romney based on his history on the subject. If they indeed go into DEFCON mode, this will also be the place for moles of any sort to bring the juicy details. Thank God I'm off work tonight. :yahoo: :hyper:

Dealing with emissaries from foreign countries for the Olympics is way more experience than Zero had when he was elected. It's still more experience than Zero has.
Hell, I've been to Epcot. *I* have more experience in foreign affairs than Zero does.

I'm confused.
I thought that one trampy woman was going to make a startling revelation about Romney today.
And the big guy promised us something that'd be an October surprise in the Nebraska-Iowa area.
Thus far, zilch.

Maybe hers was ruined because everyone figured out what it was.
Or............... She's waiting until after the debate to quash any bounce Romney might get.
As for the big guy, maybe he had to run to Costco to stock up on mini-tacos. That could take a while.
-
Is anyone going to be in the DUmp during the debate? I did last time and quite frankly the primitives constantly starting threads over the most trivial things drove me a little crazy as it was difficult to keep up with and most didn't get more than a handful of responses.

Use the Force, Luke. Turn off the targeting computer, and search with your feelings...no not that one, it leads to the dark side. Remember Darth Gina? She went there. The force will lead you to the funny...

I not sure even the Force can overcome primitive stupidity when they are in a frenzy. The primitives remind me of catching chickens for butchering. You grab one and the whole coop starts squawking, flapping, and flailing about. Just like the DUmmies when think Romney has somehow slighted the chosen one.

Obama is smoking something other than Kools. Just how well is democracy in Egypt going to fare with the Muslim Brotherhood in charge?

Dick Morris â€@DickMorrisTweet
#debates Romney is good to get back to strong economy. Romney's point on debt is worst weakness. Cuts to military hit is good
-
Romney keeps bringing the discussion back to the economy LOL.
-
Noel Sheppard â€@NoelSheppard
Smart move by Romney. We CAN'T bring about peace around the world without a strong economy. Leading from AHEAD!
-
We're stronger now as a Nation then we were when Obama came into office? seriously?
-
muntrv
Pardon me, but I thought the subject is foreign policy, not the economy, Mitt!
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! :lmao:

My feeling is as long as Romney doesn't transform into an Alien this debate isn't going to make or break him.
-
Dick Morris â€@DickMorrisTweet
#debates good rendition of economic program. small business. good hit. Romney just scored really well
-
The DUmp score. Romney is sleepy, smirking, lying, off-topic, and desperate. I'm DVRing the debate again, from what I gather he is kicking the "O's" butt.

I wouldn't say he is kicking his butt. He is keeping pace with him. Considering the knowledge a sitting President has I think he is doing well.
-
And ballgame, DUmp is upset with the moderator. Apparently they don't like Romney going off-topic. Seems the little fascist don't like it when you stray from the script. :panic:
-
Dick Morris â€@DickMorrisTweet
#debates Obama is becoming Biden. GReat on Obamacare. Good point about states do better.Schieffer is tring to control the debate for Obam

Romney's winning then!

Bernard Goldberg â€@BernardGoldberg
Whenever Romney says Democrats and Republicans came together when he was governor that's a point for him. Independents like coming together.

Obama will stand with Israel if they're attacked BUT will he stand with Israel if Israel attacks their threat ie Iran?

"Israel is a true friend. We will stand with Israel if they are attacked."
Liar Obama spews more bullshit.

Obama addresses the apology tour and says it's not true.

Mitt's hiting the apology tour again. GO MITT, GO!!

Obama on thin ice. He never used the word "apologize" but he said America at times did not live up to our values. Sounds like apology to me.

Tammy Bruce â€@HeyTammyBruce
It's clear Romney's different tone is to appeal to a broader base of women & indies; Obama is still stuck pandering to his base.
:lmao: Rev on the "Democrat" post!

Apparently the moderators slip of the tongue hasn't gone over well. At least 8 or more threads. Even the Skammer himself started a thread.

Why on Earth ARE old white guys chosen to "moderate" these debates?
For ****'s sake - we've now seen two women take absolutely no shit and no guff in the debates they moderated.

My take on it is that the Hawaiian real-estate agents better hurry and get those papers to the White House so all's in order by January 20, 2013, and there won't be any hold-up on the incumbent tenants getting the Hell out of there.
The primitives' take on it isn't worth what we each flushed down the commode on July 14, 1992 or whenever.

I confess: There is no more attractive debater on earth than President Obama tonight
This look of concentration and strength...it's so damned natural. It exudes wisdom and force. And he's kept it going all night.

Obama needed a big win tonight on foreign policy to regain momentum. He didn't get it. Romney momentum will continue. And will be pres.

I've been following the debate on here and on Facebook posts. I'm thinking there are going to be some good pictures of Obama just begging for captioning from tonight.

Erick Erickson â€@EWErickson
Obama on sequestration is going to haunt him these last two weeks in Virginia.

I think my favorite part was when Obama tried to run over Mitt at the end and Mitt calmly and firmly said "I am still speaking." I was way too young, but it reminds me of Reagan's "I paid for this microphone."

MSNBC acting very bummed as it all settles in as a loss becomes obvious now Matthews talking old tired Racist angle as he knows Obumer done

Krauthammer: Romney devastatingly leveled the charge Obama went on an apology tour. Obama was utterly speechless.
-
Well, that was fun - the missus is off on Mondays, so we both got to watch the debate together. I have to agree with some things mentioned above -
A ) Romney angled this debate to attract the last few undecideds - by maintaining focus and staying measured.
B ) Romney managed to keep injecting the economy into the debate, pissing off liberals.
C ) Romney got under Obama's skin - got him to start acting like Biden.
D ) Romney got the last word, and closed with a stunningly positive message.
I suspect the media will again declare Obama won - and then the polls will indicate that he really didn't.
-
I have it on MSNBC now, and they are just normal. Agreeing with everything the obama says.
-
I just turned it to CNN, and they are going to be fact checking the debate.
-
Watching "Real News" on The Blaze. They're fact checking.
The Iran nuclear deal is false, according to Iran, too.

Okay, compare this with a baseball game that started right after the Republican and Democrat national conventions.
We're now at the beginning of the ninth inning, the score (R) 5, (D) 0.
The score's based upon progress each of the candidates have made since the conventions.
The (R) team's gone slowly-but-steadily upward; the (D) team's mired down, having made no progress at all.
So now it's the ninth inning, the (D)s up to bat.
Maybe the (D)s might get one or two up there, this last inning, but they've got to get six, to win.
It's possible, I guess (although I'm not holding my breath), that this game's over in eight and a half innings.
-

Where are the members of the Democratic party in good standing that post to Democratic Underground's lifelong repuke relatives that are switching their votes to Romney as a result of this debate?

You know, Romney isn't the conservative I wanted and tonight pretty much reinforced that, but I've come to believe it's what we need. He can turn the economy around and he's very measured. He'll probably be more "bipartisan" than I want and it'll piss me off royally. And we're going to have to REALLY hold his feet to the fire when it comes time to SCOTUS appointments (Janice Rogers Brown). But, if he does as well (or better) on the economy as Reagan and I think he can, then Paul Ryan will win easily, as did Bush Sr. Fortunately for us, Romney's VP is more conservative than Reagan's was...thankfully Ryan's no Bush Sr.

SquatchPride69 â€@AceofSpadesHQ
They think that's dirty pool. Romney didn't show up embracing unpopular positions they were counting on him to.

PPP post-debate INDYs only key stat: "More/less likely to vote after debate" - Obama 32 more/48 less. Romney 47 more/35 less.
As a group "independents" are way too stupid to have an opinion.
DUmpmonkeys are as smart as independents.

Good job running this thread, Ballygrl.
Great job!

You know, Romney isn't the conservative I wanted.....
I thought it went great; he just happened to be focused on a different group last night.
You got two groups here; the base, and the undecided-but-friendly.
Like Ballygrl, I wish he'd come out harder and made some punches.
But he already has our two votes.
It seemed to me he was concentrating upon attracting the Tanker sort of voter this time around.
We all know I highly esteem Tanker, not least because of his cool unemotional rational competence.
Tanker's never struck me as the sort of voter who likes to see knock-out-drag-out fights; he'd rather see calm reasoned arguments.
So I suspect Romney was focused on the Tanker sort of voter.
At any rate, it's all good. Whatever works.

Aside from needing Romney we need a Tea Party House and Senate to hold his feet to the fire.
This is perhaps more appropriate for a thread featuring the big guy in Bellevue, but anyway.....
Early this morning I read in the newspaper that the 1st and 3rd district congressmen from Nebraska, running for re-election, are taking time off from their campaigns and will be in some of the northeastern blue states instead, boosting Romney/Ryan.
I've never heard of such a thing, but I suppose it's been done before.
(The 2nd district congressman, from Omaha, is staying here in Nebraska, trying to shore up his narrow 58-41% lead in the bluest part of the state.)
I suppose it makes sense, seeing as how an (R) House could get a whole lot more done with an (R) White House.
All three congressmen are Tea Party Patriots; one wonders what sort of reaction the two are getting back east.
-
I think Romney purposely went low key to appeal to the Independents.
-
Oh, and Kyle reminded me of this, it's the economy stupid, I have no doubt Mitt picked and chose his battles, he laid low on Benghazi but he hit it out of the ballpark by getting the economy into the debate, and Mitt went all out with this comment, it's totally sig worthy:

Where are the members of the Democratic party in good standing that post.....
Even though the curtain was pulled down only a couple of minutes into the debate, we all know what the primitives said.
But one has to remember that to the primitives, purple is green, water is dry, and the earth is flat.
So one can't take the primitives' opinions seriously.
Alas! for the primitives, ignored by professional Democrats and liberals, laughed at by decent and civilized people.

No kidding. Bally, yer the bestest! :-)

I think Romney purposely went low key to appeal to the Independents.
I had a different take on it. I think Obama was obviously baiting and spoiling for a p**sing contest. I think Romney knew that in advance and avoided it. I don't know how he knew exactly the right strategy to pick to make Obama seem small during all three debates, but he did it, proving himself capable of always staying a step ahead of the opposition.

I want to thank Ballygirl for this thread. I enjoyed keeping up with what was going on while watching MNF. The best of both worlds :-)

Well, thanks, Frank; of course I have been a dedicated ABO vote for a long time due to my own pet rocks, like the Second Amendment, intelligent long-term management and use of our military and naval forces, and putting the Constitution and Nation ahead of partisan advantage or simple Chicago-style corruption...and of course the fact I think Obama is the biggest phony ever foisted on the American public by a credulous and uncritical media.
While I do love to see really telling blows struck in conflicts, I also recognize there are many, many times when there is more to gain in the long run by not throwing them than the short-term advantage and satisfaction of delivering the killing zinger. I think that debate was one of those times, for Romney; like Ryan, he made no critical mistakes and gave his opponent no great advantage, so the momentum begun in the first debate should continue to build unimpeded.

I didn't follow this thread last night, as a matter of fact I turned off the TV several hours prior to last nights debate and mostly just threw cat toys around.
This morning I read this thread, very entertaining and this post has had me laughing for about an hour so far...

UNINSTALLING OBAMA..... █████████████▒▒▒▒▒▒ 94% Complete
Anyway, I was very pleased with Rmoney's performance last night...and for that matter I was very pleased with the job Bob Schiffer (sp) did.
After checking in with the democrats that post on democratunderground.com this morning all I sense is stunned silence, but I'm sure that will change as soon as the cheerleaders get going to shame them into deluding themselves again.
2 weeks to go, I will look forward, in a day or two, to the polls continuing to move in Rmoneys direction.
Much to the chagrin of the DUmmies.
Frankly, I am starting to anticipate another chance to bathe in the misery of the DUmp once again.

WTH? I watched the Giants game (GO GIANTS!!!!!!) last night. This morning MSM says that The Big Zero "knocked it out of the park".
Are you people delusional?

Yes, as entertaining as those can be, I think there was some danger of Romney's walking into a trap, set by someone who has inside knowledge by virtue of his position. It's a careful line to walk.
I thought the apology tour segment was the best in show. Memorable and presidential. Did anybody else want to throw a vase through the TV when king zero called it a "whopper," etc.? The response was great. Measured, calm, as if speaking to a child needing correction.

Thanks guys, and I appreciate those who post threads from DU, there's no way I can do Twitter and DU, Twitter moves way too fast.

That's a great point and something I didn't think of.

That really was :lmao:

RASMUSSEN: R 50% O 46%...

And Gallup still at 51 R, 45 O

And those are pre-debate #3 numbers, which means Obama didn't do as good as the left said in debate #2.

Look at his opponent. The man has done nothing but follow the "rules for Radicals" for so long that it's part of his DNA. Obama is as predictable as the sun coming up in the East. Without help Obama is just another fool that can't run a coherent thought.
-

Scott Rasmussen has said as such. He has been on Fox/Drudge the last couple of days telling people to expect a Romney bounce from Debate 2.

They (the worthless media) had to declare him the undisputed winner. They're (media and left) whole meme has been that barry is the king of foreign policy and Romney is a clueless pilgrim that can't possibly understand the 8 dimension chess game barry plays. He's media made and their reputation (such that it is) hinges on them keeping that illusion.
Reality, however, is much different, as we all witnessed. Romney jabbed little barky in the nose all night and made the sooper genius obama react to him instead of being baited into some BS playground slap fest. Romney made him look like the petulant little boy we have known little barry to be for the last 4+ years and himself look presidential. Let's face it, the man is a self made billionaire for a reason and little barry is a created myth; the successful businessman showed the entire world what a "winner" looks and acts like.
I firmly believe that in the next few days, as reality sinks in, you will see the left unmake this little twerp as fast as they made him. They've gone all in on his worthless hide and they know they're going to lose big.

petulant little boy
Just strolling around the internet, I see that's becoming a very common phrase. I sense a trend. :)

I pretty much figured that no matter how The Big Zero did, the MSM would continue to prop him up. I think even the "undecided voters" they interviewed where shills.

There's been a lot of palaver about Romney's strategy all over the airwaves and the internet today. I think the analytical point that is being largely overlooked is the core of the Democrat strategy after Obama was not able to rebound over lost ground during the second debate.
Think about this debate together with the VP debate. In both cases, the Democrat tried to be as irritating, condescending, and dismissive as possible. This was not just asshole behavior coming out, this was the core and purpose of their planned debate strategy...they knew they would get a pass on it for themselves, but their real goal was to provoke an outburst from first Ryan, then Romney, which would become the GOP's 'Howard Dean Scream' as played out in the media. The GOP candidate would most assuredly NOT get a pass for an emotional outburst in the media coverage, no matter how great the provocation, and it would be all the media talked about for the next week.
Thanks to maturity, self-control, and good intentions, neither Ryan nor Romney stepped into the trap, but gave measured, gentlemanly-to-a-fault responses to all the barbs and provocations. The substance of the debates was NOT what the Democrats were shooting for (Although of course you would expect an incumbent President to have sufficient grasp of events, facts, and figures from his legions of official advisors and specialists to be able to soundly contest any challenger's attack in a debate). No, they wanted a 'Dean Scream,' and they failed utterly to obtain that in two tries. THAT is why Ryan and Romney won their debates in the strategic sense, even if they lacked the red meat the base wanted to see, and even if the badly-misnamed 'Points' (Being, in this case, actually 'Pointless') went more to the Dems than the GOP.

I think Romney purposely went low key to appeal to the Independents.
Agreed - And I expect that Team Obama wanted Romney to saber-rattle - so there could be lots of print this morning about Romney's dangerous, world destabilizing plans.
Instead on what little foreign policy was covered, Romney agreed on most of the presidents objectives, but disagreed on how to get there.
In all, It was a masterfully crafted Lucy/football moment.

DAT, brilliant as usual.
