Title: School me on Bobby Jindal
Post by: Tantal on May 29, 2008, 08:48:38 AM
I've seen this guy numerous times on Fox and it appears that McCain may be considering him for the VP slot. Althought I find him charasmatic and likeable, I don't know much about him........but unlike a Dim, I don't vote for somebody based on those criteria. Any Louisiana peeps here got the skinny on this guy?

he a down the line, fiscal and social conservative with a lifetime ACU rating from his two
terms in congress of 100%.  he was reelected to the house with a staggering 85% of
the vote from his district in LA.

he is a rising star in the republican party, and my prediction is that he will be on the national
ticket one day.  I just don't think he is ready yet, and I hope he remains as gov of LA and
burnishes his credentials for several more years.

He is also the first Governor in my memory to win more than 50% of the vote in the general primary. With so many Democ. and Repubs running what usually happens is no-one gets a 50% so a runoff between the top 2 candidates takes place.

being from mississippi, LA politics has always fascinated me.   LA has some odd primary rules.  having
two candidates from the same party in the general election run off seems to accomplish nothing but
to deprive the voters from an actual choice on the issues.  especially when they always both seem to
be democrats.
