Regarding Rice-Aroni . . . . .

. . . . it is, after all, "the San Francisco Treat." That would be liberal, Nancy Pelosi, Socialist San Francisco.

I wonder if right wingers ever buy it?

I give this an hour . . . . . .

<<has had Rice-A-Roni before, but never paid much attention to it.

1. Have you ever tasted that stuff?

I don't know who would buy it but four pack a day smokers who have completely destroyed their sense of taste and only pick up on salt.

^^^needs no introduction.

2. Processed Food filled with chemicals

Probably why I think it tastes really good. I rarely eat the stuff. It's pretty easy to make a healthy version with better than boullion, a little onion and some brown rice. You can add the noodles or not.... Just toast the rice and finish it with stock.

^^^that's almost what franksolich does, when seeking to clear out the intestines.

Brown rice and a can of pure beef gravy, and then salted-and-peppered.

4. Plus it's got your entire daily allowance of sodium in one convenient serving.

Just what my ankles need - NOT!

3. Rice is great..by itself.

Macaroni is great..by itself. Hell, I even crunch DRY macaroni as a snack. But, Rice-A-Roni is one of the worst boxes of crap ever. Bought some one time. Tried one box, gave the rest away.

5. Rice and pasta pilaf can be really good, even from a box mix.

Near East pilaf is decent (although a bit high in sodium for my liking.) Making it from scratch is easy and even better.

Now Rice-a-roni, that one is pretty vile.

Don't eat grains of any kind myself, ever, but from what I remember some of the flavors weren't bad at all.

Hey, **** it--in this Oconomy, one saves where one can.

And it's a cheap and easy meal--brown some hamburger, drain fat, then add and cook Rice-a-Roni according to box directions.

Kids at least seem to like it, which is good.

We Like it but since it is the SF treat and I can't stand anything that has anything to do with that shithole we make our own. Just chop up some thin spaghetti, rice, bullion and spices and cook the same as the directions. Its better and ya don't get that nasty SF after taste or the chemicals!
