Yanno, about Arlen . . . . forget the "magic bullet" stuff. DO recall his comments about Anita Hill.

He called her testimony against Judge Slappy "perjury."

2. Yes, he did more than anyone else to ensure Skippy got confirmed...

...and, of course, Long Dong Silver went on to cast the deciding vote awarding the presidency to Dubya.

May Arlen rot in hell.

4. Say what you want, but Senator Specter was a good man and cared deeply about PA and the country.

I got a lot of very heart-felt replies from him and I know some of them were directly from him. I called to ask. Sometimes they said no, and other times they said yes. You can tell the difference between a form letter reply and one that's tailored. I didn't always agree with him or his answers, but at least he replied. So does Senator Casey. I'm yet to even get an acknowledgment to an inquiry from Toomey's office and gave up on Mr. Frothy for the same reason.

5. Clarence Thomas is Arlen Specter's lasting gift to the nation.

And a pretty damned fine gift it's been, too.

Thanks, Arlen!

Both sides are dancing on Specter's grave.

He'd stab either side in the back if it suited his political taste of the day.

What a pathetic man.

I liked Ann Coulter's comment that now he's switched to the dead party.

Specter's problem was the same as all the rest of the career politicians. Once he had been there long enough it became about him instead of the people he represented.

I am a firm believer in term limits.

So, now he's a permanent Democrat, then?

Yep! I bet he even votes in November!

Such respect they give to a Supreme Court Justice. And they thought we were crude when O'bummer appointed the last one. I forget her name, SortaMyIre, or sumpin' like that, but she have recused herself from several judgements already. No ethics at all on the left. Never have been, never will.
