These went over really well on Memorial Day :-)
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_34392,00.html
2 cups quick-cooking grits
2 1/2 cups grated extra-sharp Cheddar
1 stick butter
1 tablespoon hot sauce (recommended: Tabasco)
3 large eggs, well beaten
2 jalapenos, finely diced
1/4 cup canned chopped green chiles
1 teaspoon Garlic salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook the grits according to the directions on the back of the package. Remove from the heat and add next 6 ingredients (Cheddar through chilies). Stir well and season with garlic salt, to taste. Pour into a buttered 9-inch baking dish and bake for 1 hour. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

I'm sorry, you lost me.

Kiss my Jalapeno Cheese Grits
Only if you let me rub them with cayenne and diced habanero first. :-)

Afterwards can I sing "What I Did For Love"?

If you can sing after that, it'll be as a soprano. :lmao:

On a more to-the-subject note, that recipe is a good one. The recipe itself is a template of sorts and can be changed many ways (but don't ever forget the cheese). One of my favorite ways to make the baked grits is with crumbled bacon, chopped scallions (or onion) and bell pepper. Top with a dollop of sour cream/cracked pepper.

Glad you found this recipe Soleil....I didn't know it was in here, and have been looking for a good cheese grits recipe, adding the jalapenos makes it even better!!!

I was looking for Thor's salsa recipe, and I came across this. I had to read it, and when I did, I had to reply. I want to try it too. I will go fairly light on the jalapenos though. But cheesy grits with a kick sounds so good.

I THINK my salsa recipe was originally somewhere in the "chili" thread, but maybe not. Yep, found it: http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,15582.0/msg,192384.html
