I have worked for this company for 9 years. I have had good managers and I have had crappy ones. Being in a recession, i am glad a i have a job. By sticking with it, I have gotten good raises. Hardly ever absent. A day in every 6 months....usually a mental day.
Retail is what it is. They want associates that are gonna be there in the long run. ones who don't mind changing their schedules at the last minute. People who want to learn and grow with the company. Walmart is like every other corporatiom. They want loyalty!!! The associates that go in, are productive and put in their time without griping, are the ones who will awarded accordingly.
Are the people who are striking, maybe the gripes are for real, maybe not...
We are told at orienation, don't join one, don't start one.
I have never heard of "Our Walmart" before this article....

Since they don't actually have a union & Wallmart says only 5 or fewer workers actually participated, I see no reason for you to be embarassed. I'm sure those five (so called) workers will be able to find another job easily in this great economy.

I dont know how wal-mart treats its employees but I have known retail places to knowingly breaking law to take advantage of their workers because they knew they couldnt afford the lawyer to sue or to be without a paycheck.

Most states if not all states have Labor relations boards or some such entities that assist in such matters.
