My dream is probably to get my sons to Canada,
I do not look at Canada as some kind of panacea. I'd rather them live in a culture like Sweden or Denmark. However, I see us all going forward with "austerity" no matter who wins the presidency. I myself plan on voting for Obama and all down ticket Democrats. However I'm under no illusions who controls our political system. Therefore, besides voting, I will work outside the system with groups to change America back to a country where the citizens are on equal footing with the false god of the "heartland". the corporations and the rich. Thanks DU. You have been an inspiration to me. I will check in from time to time but my calling is to feed the poor victims of a corporate run America. I will try to mitigate the damage to everyday Americans made victim to our soulless corporatocracy in hopes someone will help my children as we give up citizen sovereignty for the corporate dictatorship with it's sick ideology of austerity.

Peace out.

Are they studying French? Last time I looked, there was a strong preference for French speakers.

5. Not necessary

Unless Quebec is the desired destination. Elsewhere, about the only time French is preferred or required is if one is applying for a job with the federal government, then it's a definite plus.

Please don't come back, ever, no matter how bad things get wherever you go or how good they get here some day.

We don't need fair-weather citizens here. If you leave when times are tough rather than staying and working to fix it, that is proof that you simply can't be trusted. I wouldn't marry someone who did that, and I don't want people like that living in my country.

4.I hope you have some sort of demonstrable skill or trade education....

You know, they just don't take anybody up there....unlike us elitists pigs.

Also, shocked to hear they don't have the internet apparently either....oh well, good luck!

"You know, they just don't take anybody up there....unlike us elitists pigs"

I don't get this... they don't take just anybody (so I guess the assumption is that we do. by hook or crook) so we are the elitist pigs?

Oh well, I thought it was funny so I towed it over, I'm looking forward to this kind of thing getting more and more prevalent as time marches on.

I know three people who moved to Canada. Two are my step sister and her husband. He had to move for his job. It's temperary.  She likes it ok but the fact that its temporary probably helps.  Another is a woman who worked with my husband in his last job. She is in marketing (toy business) and she got a job in Canada. She lived there a couple of years and moved back as soon as she could. She experienced their healthcare when she was there when she broke her leg.

DUmmies, you probably don't want to live in Canada as it is becoming more conservative by the day. Besides, you already have to have a job or have a skill that is needed. You can't be a DUmmie and a leech and get in. Same with the UK. Ask my brother's widow.

Whats to keep them from crossing over illegally. They love illegal aliens here. Just go, steal a Canadian SS# and set up shop. Since when are liberals worried about upholding the law?

GO...just go!

So another liberal loon is going to leave for the Great White North. Like most of them it probably won't happen but one does have to ask this. How can they be a good liberal if they have two sons? Why didn't they have them aborted like their party platform so cheerfully promotes? they always bitch about how come none of our people have kids in the military so I want to know how come that wretch didn't have those kids aborted and how come they are not already in Canada.

That story would be interesting to hear.

Quite common, I hear.  Canadians and Brits think they'll become simple drags on the system and cause countrywide Cheeto shortages.  How arrogant!  (D)Ullards think they can emigrate at will just because they're disgruntled Americans?  What pique.

I can't tell if you were trying to make a point, the yellow text I just can't read.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem but I do.

Hope it happens for them.  Doubt they could get in legally.  Maybe Mexico.  No.  Mexican immigration laws are even more strict.

I know!  They could immigrate to the U.S. illegally, get great jobs, pay taxes, their kids could all be brighter than average...  That's what some seem to want me to believe about illegals.

The guy is basically saying that he knows obama will lose and he wants to raise his kids around socialism. If he wants that, why doesn't he move to France?

Might be because even other Socialist hate the French?

I don't know the details, only that my husband said she told him it wasn't a good experience. For all I know it could have been a fluke. I know that her ordeal lasted several days before she could get in to see an orthopedist to set her fracture and the first doctor she saw knew it was broken from the get go.

Awhile back I read a report that said of the 30 million people in Canada something like 80% live within a 100 miles of the US/Canada border. The report further stated that of those 80% many did their Doctoring in the USA because of the ease of seeing Not only general practitioners but specialists in a timely manner. Usually days versus weeks or months in Canada.

* I think the report was by the Frasier Institute but not for certain.

Interesting.
Any indication as to who paid for the treatment?
