Title: A question for DUmmies and CCers
Post by: ChuckJ on September 28, 2012, 04:52:39 PM
One of the things that DUmmies and their lord and master Bambam likes to label Romney with is a lack of foreign policy experience. I'm the first to admit that I was not a poli-sci major, but I would assume that when the layers are peeled away that the basic essence of a successful foreign policy is knowledge of foreign countries and knowledge of how to deal with foreign countries.

From what I've seen, Bambam's foreign policy experience can be boiled down to: he was possibly born in a foreign country, he has lived in a foreign country, he vacations in foreign countries, he has bowed down to foreign countries, and he has apologized to foreign countries.

According to DUmmies and Bambam, Romney has personally outsourced tons and tons of jobs to foreign countries. If this is true, it would mean that Romney has extensive knowledge of foreign countries and first-hand knowledge of how to successfully deal with foreign countries.

If the above is accurate wouldn't it mean that Romney has loads and loads more foreign policy experience than Bambam?

I'd agree that Romney has more experience, relative to Obama before he was president, but obvisouly not now.

I would instead of using the flawed logic of the left I would more likely point out that a successful "foriegn policy" was implemented by Romney for the Olympics.

..logical extrapolation posted above..

Remember, this is DU we are talking about. Simultaneously holding on to contradictory notions is commonplace there.

That would be a logical following.  Therefore, we would think that way.  DU?  Not so much.

I would modify to say knowledge of foreign customs and foreign mind sets. You deal with people and there are stereotypes for each region with slight differences for countries. Just like business it is a negotiation and Mitt is infinitely better than a guy who bitched and got what he wanted or sucked the other guy and got what he wanted.

One of the problems with the 0bama regimes foreign policy is he thinks that everyone else thinks like him, except conservatives. Therefore he can deal with everyone else by sucking their dicks and he bitches at conservatives. The man is perhaps the least talented president in dealing with foreign policies. Hillary is almost as bad. Billy Jeff was not good either but the world was in euphoria in the 90s so he skated on that.

I would have to counter by saying that 'little experience' is worse than 'lots of bad experience.'

It could be said that dealing with the different representatives from the IOC means he does have some experience.

Daffy Duck has been translated into nearly every language...our first black actor has more foreign policy experience than our first black president.
