Title: Suicide on Fox News
Post by: rich_t on September 28, 2012, 04:15:49 PM
Did anyone else see that suicide that Fox televised this afternoon between 3:30 and 4:00.

They messed up on the time delay I guess.  Sheppard Smith was NOT happy.

I didn't see about it. But I can imagine more people than Shep are upset about it.

Shep Smith (FoxNews), whom we NEVER watch, led off with this story and video. He was driving on a dirt road, NOT pulled off the highway into a grassy field. He did shoot himself in a field, though.

PHOENIX - A suspected carjacking in Phoenix ended west of the Valley on Friday afternoon after the driver appeared to shoot himself.

Video showed the man driving at excessive speeds on westbound Interstate 10 near Tonopah when he pulled off the highway into a grassy field.

The driver was then seen getting out of the car with a gun and walking a short distance before appearing to put the gun to his head and shoot himself.

From what I understand it started out as a car jacking.  The chase lasted for hours.

That's one case the DA won't have ot worry about prosecuting.

I wonder if this means they will put a longer delay on car chases? Fox likes to show those.

Shep did say something to the effect that they were trying to set up a time delay, but for some reason, weren't able to do it.

Crook offs himself. No great loss to humanity,
I know DU is going all  :panic: over this.
But it ought to be required watching for inner city yutes. Who knows, it could start a trend.

I have never understood the interest of people who want to watch a car chase.

It just seems that it is the most boring thing.

AND, there can only be a couple of outcomes, cops get the bad guy, the bad guy crashes-killing others/self, or there is a shootout type of situation.

In any case it seems that a person watching this sort of thing is setting themselves up to see something that will not be easily forgotten.

For the same reason they watch NASCAR.  Waiting for a big crash to happen.

I saw my first dead body when I was about four years old - in a casket. A couple of years later, I saw a man collapse and die of a heart attack in mid-town Kansas City. I grew up and went off to Laos where I killed a boy of about ten or eleven who had tried to kill me with a grenade. After I retired and moved to Shell Knob, my next door neighbor had a heart attack and died in my arms.

That's life. It's a terminal disease that'll end one way or another. The DUmmies need to get used to it.

He shot himself in the head.

Well then, it looks like this little problem has worked itself out nicely.

This is the actual coverage (I assume the poster had it on DVR, then rewound and filmed it):

So now the news has to apologise for filming a true act.      What and why should they ????

I do remember the Photos of the child running naked with her back on fire from Napalm  in the war and also the picture of a police officer blowing a prisoners brains out in Nam.

Worse thing I remember seeing in the news papers was a neighbor crushed under a truck and the family had to see this after the fact.  This for a small town accident was not needed.

We do not film execution's today, but Brady did film the hanging of those in the plot to kill Lincon.  First woman to be hanged in America and they for her Modesty's sake tied down her skirts so they would not flare up and people see her ankles.

Anyone who says they watch NASCAR for the crashes is not a NASCAR fan. Even the drivers will tell you that.
