The Obama campaign is placing ads on the SyFy channel...

This just shows us that the Obama campaign is going after youth vote with passion. This is the sign of victory.

SyFy has become a joke with wrestling , ghost hunters and other paranormal "reality" shows.  I'd say Obama is going hard after the "troofers".

Syfy is a young people's channel? I don't think I know anyone who watches it. I would think stuff like MTV, E, and the CW would targeting the youth vote.

I was going to point that out too.  When I think of the SyFy channel, I do not picture the youth of today watching that channel.

I watch Warehouse 13, Alphas, and Lost Girl on that channel,  that's how I know the other crap that they have on.

I noticed that but all he is doing is going after the dinoshark crowd.

Unknown movies with unknown actors.

Good for him.

And bless his heart he's running adds on Fox News Channel.

I laugh every time I see an Obama ad on Fox News.  That is almost as funny as CNN and MSNBC advertising on FNC.

How old is WCGreen?  The answer is probably the average age of the SyFy Channel viewer.

Double bonus for Murdoch!

1. He gets some of that Solyndra stash, and
2. He gets free comedic relief filler for his news personalities!

It's probably a lot cheaper to run the ads on SyFy.

Yeah, I'd think that commercial time on syfy would be dirt cheap.  Aside from the ghost hunting, all I see on there are movies that desperately need some MST3K treatment to make them watchable.  I guess stoners might tune in to the channel.  Unless the ghosts freak them out.

No this is a sign of stupidity because the sci fi channel runs a lot of garbage shows and IF the youths are truly watching them with passion then they are already obama voters thus a waste of their advertizing money.

My 81 yo father watches SyFy almost exclusively.  If they showed football he'd never change the channel. He hates the wrasslin' though, about the same as he hates teh wun.  :-)

I noticed a lot of political ads on ESPN this weekend while watching college football. All they do is make me want to turn the damn channel.  Not thrilled about Romney, but already going to vote for him. Just already sick of ads.

I noticed them on ESPN (during the NBS race at Loudon), and I think they're on a few other sports-oriented channels, too.

Heh.  He's wasting his money.  He's wasting more of it than the DUmmies know.  He's got ads running in TEXAS.   :rotf:

I'm sure he'll end up winning Texas because of those ads.

Scify is a misnamed nobody channel.  They used to have some interesting shows.  Eureka is still good.  They used to bring a new B level scifi/fantasy movie on every weekend, and I really saluted them for that.  They were at least trying to do some new things that the main studios weren't doing. (Hell, I'm an extra in one of those movies, paid for beer that evening.)

NBC bought it out a while back and put a couple of hack executives in charge that don't know or understand scifi/fantasy and don't really care.  They run dumb ghost hunts all the time because it's cheap.  They brought in the WWE, because it was cheap. Maybe they are maximizing the profit curve, somehow I doubt it.

I see ads a lot in this deep blue urban area in a deep blue state.     To be fair, he miiiiiight be in trouble here.  There are NO Obama yard signs or bumper stickers.   :panic:  In 2008, they were practically wall-to-wall.

IMO, his campaign is in an unfocused state and a huge disarray.  His entire spending strategy is to just grab national spots that "sound" good.

I'm hearing anecdotal evidence that Romney has the most impressive, organized ground game in the battlegrounds to turn out every R.  And well he should, because Romney knows by now he cannot win the media game.

During my commute between home and both offices (15 miles apart), I saw NO Obama signs or stickers today.  I did see half a dozen Romney signs.

Demand for yard signs must be down this year.  I just don't see them like I used to.

How is he going to tell when the unbelievable fantasy ends and his movie comes back on?

I watched the Syfy channel back when Battlestar Galactica was on, but about halfway thru the third season, it became unwatchable, even with Richard Hatch.

I DO so miss MST3K!   :whatever:

Those MST3K guys have done two live shows here in red state hell in the past year.

The first was "Reefer Madness", and this summer they did "Manos: The Hands of Fate".

I believe "Manos" is a worse movie than "Plan 9 From Outer Space".

Their shows were hilarious.

I LOVE wrestling! I've been watching since I was about 13. Portland Wrestling, every Friday night. It's a family tradition now...over-the-top soap opera and muscles. It's Chippendale's without teh ghey and bow ties!

There's been some stealth advertising I've noticed on Warehouse 13, most of which could be written off as just the way things are. But I do not remember seeing pictures of GWB in government offices during his terms. Doesn't mean it didn't happen. I just don't recall seeing it.

I do remember seeing Bubba's portrait in quite a few TV shows back in his era.

There seems to be lots of subtle and not so subtle digs against conservatives in many TV shows.

Indeed.
If MST3K were brought back, they could probably get at least two seasons' worth of material from just Syfy's craptacular made- for- TV movies.
Though, I am starting to become an 'Alphas' fan, that show's pretty cool.
Syfy's '31 Days of Halloween' marathons in October are usually alright, but this year's mostly looks terrible.

I guess I'm in the minority here; but I love Ghost Hunters. It's the only "ghost hunting" show I really enjoy. I also like Destination Truth (Josh Gates is hilarious); Face Off; and Haven. I don't care for the B horror movies, though.

I'll take Face Off any day.  That's a pretty cool show.  I will also DVR just about all the Twilight Zone episodes they run on the holiday weekends.  We LOVE us some old Twilight Zone episodes.

OMG! MANOS! That is one of the best MST3K eps EVER. It is one of the only ones I have on DVD, but it was money well spent.
