Title: the DUmpster discombobulates a primitive
Post by: franksolich on September 24, 2012, 04:41:28 PM
Oh my.

Not intentionally, of course; we're nice people.

From the meta forum on Skins's island, hence no link.

Something to consider...

A while back I made a mistake...an Internet mistake.

You see I made an OP in GD talking about a disappointment associated with my line of work. And in that OP I shared some generic info about where I am and what I do - no specifics, mind you. I think that OP got 4 maybe 6 replies...I'm not widely followed on DU (or anywhere else for that matter) so it faded back into the depths of DU and I never really looked back.

Until one day I was notified about a post on my place of employments Facebook Page saying nasty things about me and how I supposedly feel about my customers...I was shocked! I went immediately to check it out and there was included in the post a link to my DU post!

I did a quick internet search to see where this was coming from...and on the 3rd page of the google search off my name and other info included in the posting came a link to the Conservative Cave. I had no Idea that there is place where people just watch DU and complain.

My CC thread had 70+ replies to it and 1,000's of views! Most of it was about how stupid I was, and the process of figuring out who I am, and then it got nasty...The set out with the sole purpose of getting me fired! The sent copies of my OP to my boss, board of directors, people I do business with, the Artist in question, his agent, etc...I was freaking right the **** out! They were high fiving each other and reminiscing about all the other times they got people fired from their jobs - they called it wallduding based on a DUer they got fired during the W years.

I had ****ed up...I expressed a personal opinion about my public job and gave just enough info for them to piece it together. And one Cave dweller had it right...I was bragging about my job and my place, etc...the funny thing is no one on DU was impressed and and it could've cost me my job.

How did it turn out? I still have my job. I immediately spoke to everyone of importance involved with my job. I told I know what I did was stupid and vowed to not share my politics in regards to my job ever again. They were taken aback that I was so upfront and honest with them instead trying to hide or run - I brought to their attention because at that point they had heard nothing about it.

My point in sharing this is...you are being watched by people who wish you harm. They want you to suffer and don't care about your family. So be careful what you say and the amount of info you give...

<<doesn't wish any primitive any harm; simply quotes primitives  in their own words.

Anyway.

Apparently the primitive's whining about this:

Well This just ruined my day!!!!

So like I've said before I'm the GM for a 1500 seat theatre in Central Illinois. This a very conservative community to the extent that it would hurt ticket sales if people knew for sure that me and my boss were as liberal as we are. We know such acts like Ted Nugent would sell out here very quickly but have pledged never to book him. We are starting up our 3rd season next month with an act that I remember enjoying as kid - Ray Stevens. You remember "The Streak", right? Well it seems funny man has turned into a serious right wing teabagging Asshole!

As I checked it out - he's got a lot of anti Obama stuff out the past few years.

This makes me want to puke!

Too bad for the primitive; all that was done was quoting the primitive's own words.

Well, but I wouldn't be particularly disappointed--if I even noticed it--if a primitive were pancaked by a semi-truck in some blue city.

The primitives don't ever seem to understand.

There's free speech in America.

Which is great; it's good to have that.

But on the other hand, there are consequences to things one says, and so one should weigh the possible consequences before shooting off one's mouth.

^^that's the part the primitives don't get.

<<always acutely aware there's consequences to what says, and tries to prepare for them.

Oh my yes.

There's lots and lots of people and other message-boards watching the primitives, mostly for light entertainment and diversion.

We're just one of them.  I wish I could say we're one of the larger ones of them, but I can't.

In fact, they're famous for it. There are other sites that are just as bad. Sometimes, a cease and desist letter from an attorney can do some good. It has for me, in the past. People will go and dig out stuff you wrote, even if you wrote it many years ago, take it out of context, and hound you with it, sometimes for a very long time. It seems endemic to the Internet.

Hey Journo! Don't trash talk people you work with, or the place you work at and you'll be fine.
It's a sign of maturity to RESPECT the people/business you work for.

But take this revelation as a sign.
You need to get together with Cali and open up a restaurant: The Earwig Cafe.

Here, the mineral oil primitive's referring to OldElmTree, the refuge for anti-0bama primitives.

He should ask Steve Dawes how well that works.

Don't Push Me Around, If You Don't Mind
But You Keep On Doin' It To Me All The Time
I Don't Know Much, But I Can Say
You Got Me Feelin' Like A Fool Left To Pay
You Do

Say What You Will, You Will
Say What You Will

You Got Me Feelin' Like I'm Going Nowhere
Hit And Love
See In Me The Love, The Drive I Wanna' Feel

He should ask Steve Dawes how well that works.

It did work in his case, though, because the elmers were disseminating all sorts of false information about him.

In the cases of the big guy and this loud-mouthed primitive, all that was done was quoting the primitive's own words.

Whooopppeeee-shit.

I know you'll read this, jorno.

There was an important lesson to be learned. Did you learn it? You have no one to blame but yourself.

Now, spread the wealth. Tell your fellow DUmmies what you learned.

Hey DUmbasses, the lesson here is "Truth is light and it will show you the path to happiness".  Then again since most of you are little cockroaches I understand why you scatter when the light is turned on.

Thanks.

Once again for those in the cheap seats - if you post your life on the internet to a group of strangers, and go so far as to post information that would be damaging to your employer and/or career then guess what misfits?  this is going to happen.

1) Stop being so damn needy for attention from strangers.

2) the 1,000 views that thread received? 90% of it were from the island, so rejoice that CC put you on the map.   No need to thank us.  We are givers that way.

It happened to Jorno, it happened to Mineral Oil, it happened to Cali, it happened to some others I can't name, yet they still, still, still never learn the lesson they're provided with afterwards.   And, of course, more will follow because it's impossible for them to 'get it' when 'it' is something they refuse to acknowledge.  They're learning impaired in so many ways.

Journo67, You posted enough information to give people an idea of where you work and what you do, it didn't take much to figure it out. :stoner:  I particularly thought it was funny he said his comments were taken out of context. His original post was pretty straightforward; he wasn't going to hire acts based on their political affiliation. What was the missed 'context' there, Journo?  :stoner: (takes another hit) Nope! Still don't see it!

No kidding.  I think we had figured out in five minutes flat.  Anybody who goes on an internet board and says disparaging things in any way connected to their livlihood, deserves what they get.  What's the point of it anyway?  I think in this case it was bragging.

And the primitives keep getting it wrong.  Skimmer says we "whine" about DU.  This dolt says we "complain."  Nothing of the sort.  We laugh at you, poke fun at your idiocy, and ridicule you.  Get it right.

You know, when the primitives bitch and moan about "conservativecave" or "the DUmpster" messing up their jobs, they have no idea what they're talking about.

conservativecave and the DUmpster have never at any time "conspired" against a primitive.

conservativecave and the DUmpster neither encourage or discourage whatever activities are involved in making a primitive's life miserable in the real world.  conservativecave and the DUmpster have nothing to do with that.

Any such activities are undertaken by decent and civilized people, sometimes members of conservativecave, as individuals, their activities in such directions taking place outside of, away from conservativecave and the DUmpster.

Just to be sure everyone, including lurking primitives, gets this straight--conservativecave and the DUmpster have nothing, nothing at all, to do with high-jinks, good-natured pranks, comedic stunts, hilarious set-ups, that help a primitive slip on a banana-peel.  Those are actions of individuals, not of this site or this forum.

^^franksolich speaking as a moderator on conservativecave.

As usual, if any individuals seek the assistance of franksolich in discombobulating a primitive, I'm always ready, willing, and able, eager to go.

This primitive can't even get his own story straight.  Which was it?  Did your higher ups get contacted or did you tell them?  If you tell a story, you don't want to contradict yourself within a couple of paragraphs.
