These guys would be right at home in North Korea, or informing on their neighbors to the Geheime Staatspolizei for listening to unauthorized radio in Nazi Germany.
"Thank you for the extra rations, Dear Leader. I live to serve!"

I just called the Secret Service about the Dear Mr. Obama sign in my neighborhood.

The agent had not heard of Psalm 109.8 before but took the info and said he would look into it.
I couldn't stop thinking about it and had to do something.

Here's the "threatening" sign:

This is Psalm 109:8, BTW: "Let his days be few; and let another take his office."

1. I assume you are referring to the Secret Service
by calling them the SS. Please use the appropriate lettering, USSS. Thanks!
:whatever:

5. I am not familiar with the entire Psalm. I heard the Rachel Maddow/Frank Schaeffer's discussion and
I think they are right about this issue.

MADDOW: "'Let his days be few and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.' This is such strong language in secular terms about President Obama. Can you tell me if this means something less threatening to people hearing this in a Biblical context?"
SCHAEFFER: "No, actually it means something more threatening. ...snip..... Really, this is trawling for assassins. And this is serious business.

7. To be fair
Psalm 109.8 in its entirety is "Let his days be few; and let another take his office". Psalms 109.8 does not mention his children or his wife. That is the next verse.

9. The next line is: Let his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.
How stupid do they think we are?
Pretty damn stupid, as a matter of fact.

11. To be fair, is this the way Christians use the bible?
Seriously? Just pull out a sentence that works and forget the context or the rest of the verse?
Yeah. I mean, who else does that? Let me think, now. Members of a certain web site who pull verses out of context to try to prevent Christians from praying in public, or to try to convince people that Jesus was a liberal and a Socialist, etc., etc.? The name's right on the tip of my tongue...

17. Let's hope the Secret Service visits Anlin and has a little chat with them.
Fascist arrogant assholes.
The irony is obviously lost on this one.

is hateful and tasteless, and doing so via a Bible verse makes it even more so, IMO.
A threat? I don't see it as such, but to each his own.
SalviaBlue (1,542 posts)
29. Maybe not. But the fact that Frank Schaeffer thinks its a threat
Is good enough for me.
Oh, well then, if Frank Schaeffer said it, by all means count me in. :thatsright:

30. Like I said, to each his own
But I think we're treading on dangerous territory when we turn people in to federal agents because we don't like what they think.
With that attitude, I'm surprised you've lasted as long at DU as you have.

This is so 2009. :rotf:

If I were said neighbor, there would be a whole lot of calls to the police about funny smells and smoke going to the local PD. Better not do any home improvements without the proper permits, the building and zoning office would also be on speed dial. My guess is that the DUchebag has far more to be concerned with than the neighbor.
I really think we should bring dueling back. It would be a far better society if there were some consequences for actions that call into question one's honor.

If obama was a Republican, they would praising that man as a champion of free speech.. They are such hypocrites.

A couple others managed to point out the obvious.
The dedicated haters promptly started a poo-fling.
Finally, at the end.

55. Let the Secret Service decide if it fits their parameters
SalviaBlue gets free speech too.
Which no doubt was two seconds, and then 86'd, right along with all the libtards other worthless snivels.

Yes, I remember them bitching and moaning over this verse for at least three years now. The OP has had a problem with that business and their anti-Bush ever since that communist was elected.

it also pisses off this moonbat when anyone calls the twit "Mr. Obama". ::)

You think?
Speaking of that...
I saw the tweets from YOUR side on Twitter yesterday when Ann Romney's plane had to make an emergency landing. 99.9% of those tweets were saying things like, "OH dam, y couldn't duh plain go down?

I think that a signature that I saw on anouther forum fits this"
"The penalty for punching somebody in the mouth is way too high these days"
