Early voting: Half of U.S. begins voting by tomorrow... Advantage Dems
Given the way most polls are trending right now, I would have to think the earlier we get votes tied up, the better off we'll be. Before something happens which may change voter's minds.
"By NBC's Kyle Inskeep
Election Day may be Nov. 6th, but with President Obama grabbing a lead nationally and in key swing states, Americans are already starting to vote.
Idaho, South Dakota, and the crucial swing state of Virginia are the first states to begin early, in-person voting today.
Also today, absentee voting begins in Minnesota, West Virginia, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Georgia, Arkansas, Idaho, and Maryland, bringing the total number of states already accepting ballots to 13.
Twelve others -- South Carolina, New Jersey, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Delaware, Louisiana, and Missouri -- will begin absentee or early voting Saturday.
That means, by tomorrow, half the country will be casting votes."

1. If this does not turn into a rout

If this does not turn into a rout for President Obama, that is demonstrable proof that the rethug terroristic vote suppression squads are in full operation mode. At LEAST 90% of the votes should go to Obama if everything were fair and balanced. OOPS... well, screw it. WE can say "fair and balanced" because we actually MEAN it.
Republicans need to be destroyed with complete, utter prejudice. No question.
During the August 2011 State Senate recall elections, which included a district that covered part of the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin Jobs Now! advertised voter block parties on its website, where there would be free Speed Queen barbecue and prize drawings. There were also vans there to take people to the polls to vote absentee.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin and Media Trackers, a conservative non-profit, non-partisan investigative watchdog, filed complaints about the block parties. According to Media Trackers:
On August 1, a source who wishes to remain anonymous attended a Wisconsin Jobs Now! "block party" and witnessed a number of illegal activities firsthand. Upon checking in, the source was given a free meal ticket and a raffle ticket for a prize drawing before being whisked away in a white van to Milwaukee City Hall. At Milwaukee City Hall, personnel wearing Wisconsin Jobs Now! t-shirts explained the ballot and assisted voters with registration forms all from inside the Milwaukee Election Commission office, a polling location.

This may be a stupid question but why do people need to vote before the debates even take place?
This may be a stupid question but why do people need to vote before the debates even take place? The answer is two dots lurking already within your question, waiting to be connected.
This may be a stupid question but why do people need to vote before the debates even take place?Well, personally, over the past ten or so presidential elections there has been literally nothing whatsoever that either candidate could say that would change my vote.

What is the rationale for allowing early voting? I understand allowing mail in votes for those who are unable to vote in person, but what possible reason could there be to allow voting 6 weeks early?
Or voting in your home state then snowbirding down to your winter home and voting there...and a few places in between. :whistling:
