Special Invitation: Obama and Ryan answer our questions (live Fri 9-21 must be AARP member)

http://www.aarp.org/politics-society/government-elections/info-09-2012/ask-the-candidates-member-information.html?cmp=RDRCT-ASKTHCN_SEPT17_012

Watch the candidates discuss and answer questions from AARP members like you on Medicare, Social Security, and financial security.

Please note that you have to be an AARP member to watch the live stream. You will be asked to verify your membership via AARP.org registration before you can watch.

Interesting, but I think most decent and civilized people are far more interested in knowing how the big guy's campaign for vice-president of his labor union's going.

When I found out the big guy was running, I kept watching for him to mention it on Skins's island.

Not a word.

One wonders what's up with that.

As an aside, but an important one--does anybody remember the labor union to which the big guy belongs?

I tried googling "Omaha labor unions," but none of the names rung a bell.

Then I went to the Omaha Steve threads here in the DUmpster--man, there's tons of them--because I vaguely recalled it'd been mentioned at least one time (its name, his local), but I couldn't find it.

As a public service, we need to know what's going on with that campaign, and the big guy isn't sharing it with his fellow primitives on Skins's island, although one has no idea why.

Here (http://stevedawes2012.com/index.htm) the Big Guy himself says:

thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!

The problem was, I'd just googled "Omaha labor unions" and checked old threads here; I didn't think to check out any of the big guy's own sites.

When re-reading those old threads, the ones dating back to the beginning of the big guy's campaign for city council--we're talking August of last year--I continue to be amazed.

Time after time after time franksolich offered his fellow Nebraskan specific suggestions and advice on how to avoid certain, uh, pitfalls in his campaign.  After all, I had nothing against the big guy.

Every time, I counseled against doing this and argued for doing that instead.

I didn't miss a beat in warning him of possible perils.

But did the big guy pay any attention to franksolich?

N-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o.

I'd tipped him off in advance to everything "bad" that later happened to him.  They wouldn't have happened to him if he'd paid attention to franksolich.

There are consequences to primitives who don't pay attention to franksolich.

Well, here's what's going on with AFSCME local 251; it's a Microsoft Word document, although I have no idea why.

Local 251 is fighting the action taken by the Omaha Parks Dept. concerning the laid off and transferred AEOI positions. We are asking the city to lay off all part time and seasonal operators as per our contract. Binding arbitration will probably settle the matter. Tim Dowd will be handling this for us. Stay tuned.

Some guy "Dale Drum" is the current vice-president, apparently retiring; no news about elections for union positions.

Coach, some people just have to learn things the hard way.  Some of them, over and over. :thatsright: :loser: :whistling:

The big guy's probably seen this thread by now, and needs reassured about something.

The friends of the big guy have no interest, no interest at all, in helping with the big guy's campaign for vice-president of his union local.  It's not anything taking place on Skins's island, and so isn't relevant to the DUmpster.  I for one am simply idly curious how it's going.

I do however think my fellow Nebraskan's being a schmuck, not telling the primitives about it.

And he's probably losing some opportunities to raise campaign cash from them, too.
