Title: I just can't believe it. I'm shocked.
Post by: JohnnyReb on September 19, 2012, 06:01:54 PM
A young fellow running for county council just called me asked me for may support in his run for office. I have done work for his grandfather, his father, him and his siblings and never had one bit of trouble. They are all salt of the earth types so you know he has my support....and he's running on the republican ticket.

Here's the part I can't believe, if he wins this seat on the county council, the entire county council will be REPUBLICAN. That hasn't happened since the last carpet baggers left this area well over a hungred years ago. As a matter of fact, 32 years ago when the seven of us held the first republican party meeting in this county in over a hundred years, we never dreamed that this day would come, it was impossible to even dream of it.

He also told me that at last weeks democrat party meeting they only had 20 people there... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:...oh how the mighty have fallen. ...and... :lmao: :lmao: the new leaders of the local democrat party is a crazy black woman and a black transgender guy....that shit ain't going to fly around here. Not because they're black but because they're crazy.

You know what, this is going to sound stupid, 4 of the people at that first meeting are dead now but 2 of them are buried in our church cemetery. I'm going by there one day this week and tell 'em the good news. All they wanted was a chance at a choice of something other than a damn democrat. Well daddy and Cecil, you have gotten your wish and more...oh so much more. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN THE SKY ABOVE IS CLEAR AGAIN.............. :lmao:

I'm happier than a kid in the candy store....with a toy department.

I don't think it sounds stupid at all.

Take a small bottle of beer when you go, have a sip and poor a bit on each grave too. Y'all can drink to their contribution to bringing back the Republicans.  :cheersmate:  Or ice tea if they didn't drink.  O-)

Cecil loved anything alcoholic. Daddy didn't drink...well didn't drink sort of....he just wouldn't buy any but he'd sure help you drink your stuff.... :lmao:

I got 5 pints of Sloe Gin in the kitchen cabinet that was put up there for daddy 26 years ago. I might just buy some orange juice and me and him have a drink.

We have the same thing in the TX Coastal Bend area.  In all the county & city races we only have one Dem running (sheriff) & he's loosing bad.  The Dems are having trouble scrounging up enough folks to put one clerk at each polling place.

This was for the primary 32 years ago, the state republican party wouldn't even give us any money for expenses. My daddy and Cecil coughed up the money and we were only able to open seven polling places(combined several boxes into one) ...and the ballots had only a couple of names on them that year...the main one was ...Ronald Reagan...and a good number of people turned out to vote for him in the primary even though that meant they couldn't vote in the democrat primary which back then WAS OUR LOCAL ELECTION. Yep, you voted for the democrat of your choice and he ran unopposed in the fall...not any more. :-)
