I say: Let's start a single thread collecting all of the DUmp's hyperventilating reactions to the Rmoney quote.
We know why they're upset and we should revel in their proving us right.
We should rejoice in their proving what we all know alread: It's true!
They know it and worse for them they know everybody else knows it too. They have to convince people that it isn't the validity of the topic, only that it's outrageous to believe it.
After the PR disaster that was OWS--which was really only a 6 month exercise in proving Rmoney was right--they need to mute the backlash of people who will agree with Rmoney and decide it's time to kick the freeloaders off the couch and to the curb.
DU--where bragging about your disability and unemployment benefits is as important as your post count--will fume and sputter but at the end of the day their complaints won't mean shit. People who take themselves out of the economy aren't necessary; they're worse than useless, they're a drain on those of us actually trying to accomplish something. Nobody needs them and now a national candidate has told them that it's OK to not even want them.
What good will their protests do if a man vying for the presidency says that no matter what you do you can never curry enough favor with the layabouts? Answer: you stop trying and as soon as you stop trying the impotence of the moocher class becomes immediately self-evident.
What house will go unbuilt if they separate themselves from us? What road will be unpaved? What farm will go unharvested? On the contrary they demand we provide these things for them while they contribute nothing in return except to make us work on their behalf and pay higher taxes on what we earn. They demand we keep our sodas under 32 ounces but to question how they use the EBT card we gave them is a dehumanizing insult.
They know we're angry. What they do not want is that anger being articulated in a national forum. If that happens then they have to out-anger you, much-like how a cheating lover plays the hyper-jealous lover to hide their infidelity. If their infidelity is ever discovered then they know you have no reason to maintain the relationship because they have shown themselves to be spoiled, petty, abusive, vindicive, self-indulgement, unfaithful, demanding and inconsiderate.
It's time to move on America. We don't need them, they need us and we are the only ones who can prop-up this pathetic, dysfunctional relationship.
-
Since you call it a "relationship" maybe turning mooselimb wouldn't be so bad after all...we could just say "We divorce you" three times and be done with them. :-)
I'm joking of course....but if they get caught in the crossfire with mooselimbs, don't stop pulling the trigger.
-
They're "upset" because not only did Romney strike a nerve, but because the statistics validate everything Romney said, and people are getting fed-up with Americans taking advantage of other Americans.

These people could not have lived in America 200 years ago...don't work, you don't eat....survival of the fittest was still in play back then.

Outstanding, Snugs.

An Open Letter to Mitt Romney
Dear Mitt,
I am not a victim. I am a wife, mother, and educator. I have a college education. I critically examine the issues that face this country. I have thoughtful discussions with friends and family on both sides of the isle. I have compassion, empathy, and respect for the people who work hard and still struggle. I pay taxes. My family income is less than $100,000. I own my home and have no personal debt. I take responsibility for my finances, my children, and my life. I work hard, live within my means and am happy with, "enough."
I have used the government safety net as a child when my dad couldn't find work as a contractor. I am thankful that the government helped to feed my family and did not consider food an entitlement. I took advantage of a very small pell grant to help me with my college education at a modest state school. I have used the medical assisstance program in my state to help pay for prescription drugs for my children with disabilities whose prescriptions costs are more than a mortage payment. Getting a hand up from the government does not make me a victim and it does not make me less.
I will cast my vote for Obama not because I expect entitlements or because I'm incapable of discerning who is the better candidate. I will cast my vote for Obama, not because I am a victim, but because, Mr. Romney, you have no idea who I am. I am invisible to you. I am somehow worth less to you. I will cast my vote for Obama because I believe in a country where we care about everyone. Where food, shelter and health care are rights available to everyone. I will cast my vote for Obama because I believe in a society where we are judged, not by how much wealth we can accrue in a lifetime, but by how we take care of those who are unable to care for themselves. I will cast my vote for a true leader.
You are not that man, Mr. Romney. You have deeply insulted me. You have done more than make comments off the cuff or spoken unartfully. You have dismissed me. Big mistake.

So, in other words:
Rmoney was exactly right.

Where food, shelter and health care are rights available to everyone.
The person must have a different copy of the Constitution than I have, because I can not find this anywhere.

Which means that at an income of $90,000 + dollars this person still mooched off the government somehow.

Mitt... You just got me out of hibernation...
by Allenfire
It has been four years since I first discovered and contributed to Daily Kos...
blah-blah-blah
Come on pundits, trivialize what Mitt said. I dare you. I dare any of you to characterize Mitt as anything but a callous and soulless bastard. Prove to the country and the world how out of touch you are or how much you've sold out to the Republican Party of obstructionists and predators.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021367765
So, some guy who started posting on a leftist crowd-blog is upset Rmoney called his species out as useless. The writer says he's been posting on DKos for 4 years but now he's suddenly out of hibernation (BTW - great way to shed the sleep-til-noon welfare queen image there buddy) because, you know, the politically somnambulant write for DKos.
And this is applauded by people who demand their president see them, feel them and touch them because--gosh darn it!--they need special attention! And if you don't agree then you're just not giving enough with what you've earned.
Again...
...this just proves the point.

The person must have a different copy of the Constitution than I have, because I can not find this anywhere.
All the freebies are found under "general welfare".....or at least that's the way DUmmies read it.

So, she thinks two physiological needs and one socialist abstraction are rights?
Loco.
-
Wow! When you are over the target, you get the flack.
Just a reminder, for every borrowed dollar that Obama has spent...er ahhh... invested, resulted in 30 cents of GDP growth. Looks like old Nanzi "Stretch" Pelosi was wrong on that whole unemployment benefits were the best way to grow the economy.
"Am I telling you that you have to borrow and spend to save you from bankruptcy? Yes I am."

I am on SSI. I am constantly hounded by RW assholes because of it.
I've been called a leach, a parasite. I've had people tell my that "Asperger's Syndrome does not exist and is an excuse to give welfare to lazy nerds". This is why I fear that the video may not hurt Romney as much as we would think. These assholes are everywhere and they vote.

**** 'em. Thery're losers, not "has beens", but never were. IIRC, you'r not a NASCAR fan - but in motorsports, Asperger's might better be known as "Engine Builders Brain".
Like in the movie classic "Freaks" - motorsports gave me a hug and a warm donut, sometime before 1st grade, and whispered in my ear "One of us!"
For the losin' players taht diss you, here's a comeback - "Folks like me do a lot for the world, and we are such poor liars that grubbing up money is problematic at best. My "Good Citizen Subsidy" is an investment for society. How much a month are you payin' to be an asshole?

If he becomes President them most of you that are a waste of skin will either get jobs or starve is that it?
One can hope.
But even if Barack Milhous manages to get enough votes manufactured out of thin air from the blue cities and blue states, and is "re-elected," the money's going to run out.....and probably faster than if Romney wins.
If Romney wins, the Odin2005 primitive, for example, probably wouldn't have to look for a job for six or eight years, because Romney, like both Bushs and Reagan before him, will have to compromise with the other side, keeping the breaking-down gravy train from crashing right away.
But if Barack Milhous "wins," the Odin2005 primitive will be out pounding the pavements seeking a job within three years, because there simply won't be any money, period.
At times, I've had evil thoughts of hurrying the process along, helping to deplete the disability funds faster, by taking a ride on the gravy train myself. Every dollar I'd grab would be one less for the primitives to get.
Too bad for the lazy parasitical leech the Odin2005 primitive.

I would like to know just whose vote the dummies think President Romney lost by telling the truth?
So true, its not as if anything he could say or do would sway the dumbasses from voting for Zero. The libtards will always vote the Dem ticket, hell Zero could murder a guy on national TV and the DUmpmonkeys would still vote for him.

My facebook post today-was it a mistake?
I never, ever post on facebook (I troll) but today I posted Romney's 47% comment and was so furious I posted the following: Ok- I don't usually do this but here goes-I am one of that 47% and tired of feeling shamed for it! Life has thrown me more than one curveball- but NO ONE is going to tell me I do not take personal responsibility for my life! I did not pay any federal income tax last year. I paid 7000+ in property taxes, 10%+sales taxes, and live below the poverty level. My focus has been on raising aware, healthy children who I hope will have safety nets available for them if they fall in bad times. I have opened my home and wallet to those less fortunate than I (I am still blessed) and have accepted help from my caring neighbors when I needed it. I work multiple part time jobs, but I need healthcare and Pell grants to raise my children out of poverty.I am not a victim and I believe the government has a responsibility to take some care of those who struggle. If you think that is wrong BRING IT ON!
I'm feeling vulnerable since I don't share how difficult day to day life is for me. Even here I feel ashamed saying I didn't pay (owe) any federal income tax last year I would love to make enough to pay, but I do pay plenty of tax... Just looking for feedback. Peace

It is people like Romney would should be ashamed and I hope the good people of America stand up to him and elect Obama by a landslide.

6. You did a good, and brave thing today.
Hate survives when people can keep it at arms length, away from themselves. You made this news personal, because it is. You showed people who the REAL 47% is. You did the right thing.
Brave?

Damn right. It shouldn't be "overheard" from him in casual conversation, it should be part of a speech to the nation. Go back to some Reaganesque plain-talking and people will appreciate it rather than having smoke blown up our collective asses about how everyone has to be catered to.

Mitt speaks the truth, captured by some putz who is pals with Carter's grandson. The media goes absolutely ballistic.
Meanwhile, Obama misses intel briefings to meet with celebrities. Boozes it up at fundraisers while an ambassador is killed. Has absolutely no plan. No direction. Nothing but apologies and weakness, and the media does nothing.
You couldn't make this stuff up if you wanted to.

I am part of the 53%, we have NEVER (since getting married at 20) paid NO income taxes at all. When Bill Clinton was president we had a son, later a daughter and finally in 1999 our last daughter, my husband was making $25k a year just out of college and I was making a little more than minimum wage, during those years we owed (on top of what was taken out of our checks every paycheck) between $1000 and $1500 a year more every year.
If we were in the same situation now after Bush's evil tax cuts we wouldn't owe anything at the end of the year and most likely get every cent we paid in taxes through out the year back. I'm sure you want to keep his tax cuts for youself but the very people who pay the majority of taxes you want to increase theirs.
Seriously DUmmies, how long do you think this country can survive with half of the country paying no income taxes? How long do you think this country can survive until we become Greece? What will you serial victims do when austerity is forced on you? You will have no marketable skills, no money from the government to eat or have a place to live. Your "free" government healthcare will have to ration care and your anti-depressants will slowly dry up. You people act like you are proud to not pay taxes, yet scream "pay your fair share" to the very people who are keeping this country afloat.
I hear Mitt Romney compared to the 1950's frequently by the left. He is so "square" etc. Yet in the 1950's work, any type of work, was respectable. Being a garbage man, milk man or drug store clerk was a respectable thing. You people feel it is beneath you to do any job that doesn't have a fancy title and a comfortable salary (with outrageous vacations, sick days and bonuses). You would rather sit out your 99 weeks of unemployment then opt for disability rather than take a job that is beneath you.
My husband has worked three jobs at once to make ends meet, I watched kids after I had a stroke to pay medical bills. I highly doubt any of you have done anything even close. You would have ran to the government in situations such as ours. My husband lost his job last year in June (down sizing), an employer he worked for for 17 years. He started out as an industrial designer and worked his way up to VP of product development. He could have taken unemployment, and would have been perfectly fine for him to do so. But he didn't, the day after he was informed about it (they gave him several weeks notice) he started looking for contract work and looking for a permanent job. I know that not everyone can afford to move or can't sell their house but we immediately moved back to Texas because we knew our quality of life, the cost of living and job prospects were better. We made it a priority and made it happen. We lost $100k on our house in CA, the company made us move from Texas two years prior. We moved to CA because we either had to or my husband would have lost his job. We moved but he ended up losing his job anyway.
My husband would have been what you people would consider the 1%, he paid more in taxes the last year we lived in CA (fed, state and property taxes combied) than he is currently making at his new job. We have our kids college to pay for (one kid just left for college and another one just moved back home after graduating and not being able to fine a job in his field). We paid for my husbands degree, took us 10 years to pay it off. I had a stroke in 1995 with no insurance, that is why I watched kids after my stroke, to pay for MY medical bills. It took years but we paid them off. We weren't destitute in any of the above situations because we did what we had to to make it.
Most of you are barely surviving on government assistance, you live for your next crumb from the government. What a sad pathetic way to live.
Edited to add: Cry me a ****ing river DUmmie, "life has thrown you more than a few curve balls". Try being diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease after suffering a stroke at the age of 28, getting pregnant while on methotrexate and never considering abortion, having other chronic auto immune diseases, including one that may cause me to go blind if it doesn't get under control and having your brother die of a drug overdose (his own wife's methadone).
Or how about my husband, he passed out and had seizure like activity for a few seconds in July. After an MRI and an EEG they couldn't find anything wrong with him yet he can't dive for 6 months. He rides his bike to and from work (15 miles total, not including the train he takes). Does he whine and claim disability and take a leave of absence from work? No, he gets up everyday and gets his ass to work.
Everyone here have personally been thrown "curve balls", everyone has their proverbial cross to bear. You see yourselves as victims, we see ourselves as living life. You are pathetic.

Huh? How does someone living below the poverty level owe that much in property taxes?

I checked out this "Assburger's Syndrome" on Wikipedia.
Every symptom of this "disease" describes the DUmmies to a "T"!
(Back in my day, we called this "disease" as "being anal retentive".)

I figure the primitives will proclaim that the 'leak' of this tape was a Rovian plot in maybe two weeks or so.

^^can't say too much about this. Great comment, great observation!

*BEG quote*
I was thinking about this on the way home from work (dirty word to the DUmmies). BEG is quite right. We are too busy with living life. I have some time to come here, make a few comments, etc. The rest of the time I'm just going about my day. Not worried about what someone else is doing that might, *gasp*, effect someone, some where in a positive or negative way.
The DUmmies, on the other hand, are listless, bored to tears, do-nothings who NEED chaos in their lives so they can think they've actually accomplished something, when, in fact, they've done nothing productive.
-
<. . . My husband has worked three jobs at once to make ends meet, I watched kids after I had a stroke to pay medical bills. . . .>
The DUmmies speak about heroes quite frequently. Heroes, to me, are people who do what has to be done rather than throwing their hands up in despair and crying "Why me?"
That whole response was a great description of people doing what has to be done. H5

I mean seriously, just like Romney felt like the car industry should go broke all these freeloading moochers who have paid state and local taxes and Social Security and Medicare taxes like I've paid for the last thirty years should just be written off. Eat? Why should they eat? I'm sure Queen Ann would be happy to tell them to eat cake.
