The End of Men, for Real: Hooters Is Desperate for Female Customers
By Jordan Weissmann
There are lots of statistics you could break out to illustrate the growing power of women in the economy. But if numbers don't do it for you, then just look at what's going on at Hooters.
After five years of falling sales, the restaurant chain is trying to revamp its fortunes by easing up on its unreconstructed frat-boy image and appealing more to female customers, all without ditching the waitresses parading around in skimpy t-shirts and shorts. Sound like a tough sell? I think so.
But according to Bloomberg Businessweek, CEO Terry Marks believes that by tweaking the menu with more salads and fresher ingredients, lightening up the beach shack decor, and adding space for a bit of nightlife, the company can at least make its franchises an acceptable destination for more wives and girlfriends. As of now, about two-thirds of their patrons are guys.
Things are sagging at Hooters (http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2012/09/the-end-of-men-for-real-hooters-is-desperate-for-female-customers/262407/)

I like how they think lack of women are the reason for hooters troubles. The problem is society has gone more and more extreme. Its not the 80's anymore, you can see more skin in a "family" movie. The risque element of hooters is long gone. Their niche is gone and their TVs and wings cant compete with their competitors like buffalo wild wings.

Thanks to feminists. :argh:
Even "Family Feud" went to sex categories.
I always thought Hooters menu was lacking, although a little more "skin" would help. :whistling:

I'm not particularly thrilled with either chain, frankly. Hooter's wings (of what I remember from another lifetime) are overbreaded and soggy, and BWW's are just plain scrawny. Neither chain can compete with the local places when they do their weekly wing nights (usually 50 cents, good-sized, and variety of sauces.)
The BWW near me has God-awful customer service. Let's hope the one they're opening here has better service or it'll end up as dead as the other one after the first month.

For a sit down all day and watch sports place the wings at BWW arent bad, I only get the boneless there though and those are never scrawny. If I just want wings, wing stop is the best place Ive been too.

I always have a good time when I stay at the Hooters Hotel and Casino in Vegas.
The price is right. They also have a great restaurant called the Mad Onion. They also have a Hooters restaurant.
Top notch hospitality, clean smaller casino that is well ventilated and I usually never pay for my room.
The pool never closes, which is rare in Vegas. Most casinos close the swimming pools early to get the adults into the casino.
Right across the street is the MGM and the room are much more pricey.
e at a any casino)

The colossal ignorance of one who has never been to Vegas and is unlikely to go any time soon:
--How do you not pay for a room?
--Also, some of those places look very nice just to visit. Is it possible to go there and not gamble? (I mean physically, not psychologically.)

You can get comps from gambling to pay for your room, last time I went I got enough to pay for all my meals and my room
and yes you can go to all the places and not gamble, the mall in caesars in nice

I can't speak for the other ladies on this board, but looking at another woman's boobiez is more likely to give me indigestion! ::)

You don't actually see their breasts, as Moose pointed out to me when he was 12.

We have a new chain that just opened a few miles from Hooters. Its called the Tilted Kilt, very pub feeling but the waitstaff are wearing much more revealing uniforms while still looking like they are better dressed then the hooters girls. They also do not have a prohibition against ink so the girls flaunt not only their teats but also their tats. And the food is WAY better then Hooters.

A few years ago, my coworker moonlighted at Hooters in the evenings. I used to go hang out there after work with my buddies, because I got good drink specials. Their crab legs are pretty good, and I love their fried pickles.
We just got a Tilted Kilt here a while back. Haven't been yet, for no other reason than it is way far from where I live, and I like to drink close.

You started him early eh?........... :panic:

They had one in Cedar Rapids the first time I went there. 18 months later, nuh-uh. No Tilted Kilt.
Although I did like the food.

I live a few miles outside of local, I get special offeres to try and get me into the big city to spend money. Once I have been there a time or two they usually just "comp" my rooms. I do gamble.
Yes you can go to Vegas and not gamble. There is so much to do and see in Las Vegas. I've been there several times and not spent a penny gambling. Other times I have spent lots of pennies. :lmao:

How much do you have to gamble before you start getting free stuff?
Is it cost-effective? If you're on a losing streak, would it be cheaper to pay for the room etc and stay in the pool?
-
Wing Stop. Best wings. Great fries.

I think there is one of those in my old neighborhood. I never did get around to eating there.

I've never been in a HOOTERS but a week or two ago they were discussing this on a talk radio show. A lesbian called in and said she loved going there with her two gay neighbors. The gay fellows watched the guys watching the girls and she watched the girls....I guess the waitresses need to show more skin.

Find a casino that that has a pool open past 7 pm and that is a great idea.
If you are losing. Stop. Well at least that is what I tell myself, I don't always listen. :lmao:

This was just on my facebook page. I really don't care what team she likes unless it's a
"double team."
Hello Everyone! My name is Katrice from Atlanta, Georgia. Even though I’m a southern girl at heart I love Vegas. I’m a dealer here at Hooters Casino. One thing I love about working here is that during football season I can still catch my Steelers playing on almost any TV in the casino. Here are some fun facts about me; my favorite color is red, favorite holiday is Christmas, if I were an animal I would be a Lion. If I could have any super power, it would be to know what people are thinking! –How cool would that be, right?!
