In response to an article about Ryan's speech at the Values Summit, a user on Buzzfeed (screen name OoO) posted a great reply! Good explanation that anyone--even a conservative--can understand. Might come in handy. Thanks OoO, wherever you are!
When you're promoted to captain of a plane that is already in a straight-down , and through your efforts you are able to right it and land it to make repairs instead of crashing, then yes, it could be said that the passengers are not better off than they were before the plane went fubar under the prior captain and are not where they want to be.
They're also not scattered in smoking chunks across a field. So that's nice. Thanks, Captain #2. We're starting to gain altitude once more and will get back to where we were. It will happen with enough thrust and the right attitude if we can just agree to implement those things and stick with them.
To say that we should dump Captain and crew #2 for salvaging the disaster handed off from Captain and crew #1 is not logical, especially when crew #1 wants back in the cockpit and has been sabotaging efforts to regain altitude since back when we were still in freefall.

That's a ridiculous analogy. We're still in free fall and getting worse. The whole damn world is in chaos. That's what happens when you have a weak American president. Gas prices are going up, so is food and everything else. QE3 right before an election is going to be a nightmare for the country and it's damage will be felt before the election.

I don't know any "mess Bush left us in," because no Democrat, liberal, or primitive has ever told us what the mess was, that Bush left us in.

As I recall, all through Bush's term, the DUmmies were complaining about the lousy economy. Now that they're liberal godhead actually slammed our economy into the ground and proceeded to stomp on it (as witnessed by the latest downgrade), the DUmmies think we're recovering. I guess that's what you have to expect from a group that takes more legal and illegal pharmaceuticals than 90% of the population.
Or maybe it's due to the moonbattiness. When you're hanging upside down most of the time, up looks like down...and you have difficulty telling the difference between a window and a mirror. :-) :-)

0bama was president for about 5 months when the recession was declared over. Looks like Bush did most of the lifting to get us out of that recession. Since the recession has been over and the country under the Obama wRecovery, we lost more median income than in the Bush recession, twice the loss.
Since the Obama wRecovery, we have had a record amount of net wealth loss. Twice the loss under Bush's recession.
Since the Obama wRecovery, Obama has spent 5 trillion dollars we don't have, $4 billion every single day.
Since the Obama wRecovery, we have had a record 44 months of 8+% unemployment.
Since the Obama wRecovery, we have had a record amount of foreclosures.
Since the Obama wRecovery, we have had a record number of people GIVE UP looking for work.
I could go on and on but purely from the hard cold facts, we would be much better off in a Bush recession than an Obama wRecovery.
