Title: Hobby Lobby, the new Chick-Fil-A
Post by: Skul on September 14, 2012, 08:02:23 AM
In their never ending search for manufactured outrage, the DUmp finds another reason.
I read about this a couple days ago, and wondered if the primitives would start the poo-fling.
They are afterall, consistant, and did.

Hobby Lobby sues government over healthcare mandate
Source: (Reuters)

(Reuters) - Hobby Lobby, an arts and crafts retailer founded by evangelical Christians, sued the Obama administration on Wednesday to stop a mandate under the federal healthcare reform law to provide drugs such as the morning-after pill to employees through their health insurance.

The lawsuit, filed in District Court in the Western District of Oklahoma, seeks a permanent injunction against the government on behalf of Hobby Lobby and other companies that have religious convictions against abortion.

"These abortion-causing drugs go against our faith," said David Green, founder and chief executive officer of Hobby Lobby Stores Inc, in a call with reporters. "We simply cannot abandon our religious beliefs to comply with this mandate."

The U.S. Justice Department did not respond to a request for comment on the lawsuit on Wednesday.

Hobby Lobby is facing a January 1 deadline to comply with the mandate. Should it refuse, it would face a penalty of $1.3 million per year, under the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a lawyer representing the company said.

1. Hobby Lobby Blows

They took out a full page ad in our paper (Telegraph Herald) sometime within the past 6 months (Easter?). It read: "One Nation UNDER GOD." There was some other bullshit to it too (something about praying for judges or something). I knew then they sucked (and blew).
So what? That's their choice. Are you or aren't you "pro choice"?

Quote

2. First of all, they suck. Second, they don't even sell hobby stuff.
So they double suck.
I went to one a month ago, big bog store filled with craft shit, hardly any hobby stuff (in the old school hobby sense).
Just what, exactly is, your "hobby"?  Sex toys, perhaps.  :loser:

31. Ha!
That's what my kids said when I took them to a Hobby Lobby a couple months ago. "where's the Hobby stuff? This is like JoAnn Fabrics..." funny!
Next time, try actually going inside, m'kay?

Isn't Sunday when people might pursue...I don't know, HOBBIES?
Shop on saturday, mess with hobby on Sunday, DUmbass.

17. if only
there were some system where employers did not have to provide insurance, and individuals could purchase their own.
hmmmm. That might solve the problem of imposing your religious beliefs on some one else's private life.
There is.  It's called a pay check.
OK, who's mole?

38. company towns used to require employees to spend money at company
town stores. This reeks of the same mentality.
Think about what you typed, wiggy.
The government is the one making the demand, not Hobby Lobby.
Hobby Lobby doesn't want to spend its money at the government store.

On and on they went.
Faux outrage over religon and the store in general.
As with WalMart of course, none of them really shop there. :whatever:
Case in point.

49. Never bought anything from Hobby Lobby that I can recall........
And definitely won't, now that I've read this.
These losers need to stop ****ing whining so much. If they disagree with birth control, that's their choice.....what ISN'T, is forcing their belief system on those working there.
Next thing you know, they'll be boycotting chicken sandwiches. :lmao:

Perhaps the people who work there do so *because* they share that belief system.

Or because it is a pleasant, peaceful work environment.

Or maybe because they know DUmmies such as DUaveragejoe won't be in there to bother them (now, there's a win).

Hey Joe, Pay attention.  This is not about whether someone believes in a certain choice, that's a discussion for another day.  It's the fact that people don't want to have to pay for other peoples birth control.  If you want birth control go pay for it yourself.  By the way if you want to discuss this further come on over, register and we can have this conversation without someone getting tombstoned.

I'm sure the TwilightGardener primitive, who's a registered nurse down in southeastern Nebraska (but originally from Pennsylvania), appreciates having a day off now-and-then, free from stress.

But being a primitive, she's not willing to give the same to others; they're after all meant to serve her, seven days a week at her own whim and wish.

I wish she'd move back to Pennsylvania, getting the Hell out of my state.

You douchebags are forcing your belief system down the throats of Hobby Lobby head bosses.  The employees are free to do as they desire with their own paychecks, but you want to force Hobby Lobby bosses to go against their beliefs and pay for birth control.  It is you forcing your beliefs, not anyone else.

Leftism is a mental disease. A leftist must hold two completely contrary concepts in one small mind. It has to make a leftist insane.

In this case we have people that because of their religious beliefs of not killing other human beings refuse to pay for their murder. This is terrible. In the other case we have muslims killing people because of cartoons or a stupid trailer to a movie on YouTube about islam. This is acceptable.

The case for leftism being a mental disease is proven time and time again. The only question is, does one become mentally ill because having to hold two completely contrary concepts in one small mind or does one have to be initially mentally diseased to hold two completely contrary concepts in one small mind?

This is a good example of how stupid DUmmies are.

If you tell em "If you want full insurance coverage for birth control, go find another job with someone who provides it."
Their response is something along the lines of that they shouldn't have to be denied coverage because of where they work.

Now using their own logic, try telling a DUmmy that you feel that you shouldn't have to belong to a union to work for a unionized shop and they will say, "If you don't want to belong to a union, go find  job at a non union shop."

52. Hobby Lobby & Walmart are the only two local stores that sell
fabric & notions.

I never shop Walmart & finding out HL thinks they have a say in what I do with my body? Well, I won't be shopping there anymore either. And I will certainly let them know why!
Ya ya, sure, sure. Same old BS.

Every Hobby Lobby that we have here has all kinds of stuff for anyone to get into from Model Planes to Arts and Crafts to picture art and more. I also happen to know that Hobby Lobby all over the country pretty much has the same stock in their stores no matter where it is. They are one of many places to go to but they are hardly a store that doesn't have "Hobbies".

Best reason I can think of.  Imagine, no tatooed, body pierced, hollow-eyed, sunken chested, retarded floor staff to avoid.

Wait,....I mean step over.

I can see an upcoming scenario where a dummie buys an x-acto knife and nicks his finger in a drug induced attempt to cut a piece off of a lump of (insert drug of choice) then sueing Hobby Lobby for selling such a dangerous device. Heck even the mental picture of a loon attempting to use any sharp object leaves me in metaphorical stitches ...

I went to Hobby Lobby 2 days ago.  I heard no Christian music in the store, saw NO moonbats   :yahoo:

bought a big cross to put above my door to keep the moonbats away  :-) bought color pencils, drawing tablet, whole bunch of metal art for my walls. I love that stuff.

Sent an email to the company thanking them for having a wonderful store and how pleasant my shopping experience was.

They thanked me for shopping their store.

It's nice to shop at a place that liberals hate.  On the way back, we bought Chick-Fil-A.  My husband was laughing. He loves sticking it to DUmmies.  :rotf:

I enjoy shopping at Hobby Lobby.  I've mostly just bought yarn there, but I thought their prices were reasonable and the staff were friendly.  Please, DU, stage a boycott so I have an excuse to go shopping

Hobby Lobby should be hoping for a publicly-announced moonbat boycott.

Seems the best way for a business to increase sales nowadays.

I love HL....especially when I find stuff on sale. Their sale aisles are treasure shelves of wonderful finds.

They have aisles full of hobby stuff...at least the 3 here that I have been in all do. If they are that way here, I would think all of them are the same.

I didn't go to chick-fil-a until the DUmmies put them on my radar, now I go at least once a week. I discovered they have a great carrot and raisin salad that I haven't seen since Parris Island.  :yahoo:

Thanks, DUmmies.  :lmao:

Exactly right.  That is what the internal memo David Green sent out to all the stores says, in a nutshell.  You can have it, but you'll be buying it on your own, since it violates the company owner's freely practiced religious beliefs.  That's pretty cut and dry, for normal civilized people to understand.

My spousal unit thanks you all for shopping at her employer, too.   :cheersmate:

the coupon...

If you're into bar- or tiki-style decoration and domestic cars, the store here has plenty of stuff.  I have enough wall hangings and don't need another faux road sign.  It was the only place I went to that still had enamel paint in a jar though.
