And, it apparently was a cat rescued from a shelter.
Cat saves owner's life
Wife says 'Buddy' sensed her husband needed help

ORLANDO, Fla. -
They say cats have nine lives, but in the case of Buddy, he gave his owner a second chance at life.
Buddy is more than just a stray cat given shelter in a home. According to the Chap family, he's a hero.
"He was meowing, scratching, and jumping, and just trying to get my attention," said Jennifer Chap, who was working in her home office when Buddy started misbehaving.
Chap picked up her cat and walked to the kitchen, where her husband was kneeling over the counter and going into a sudden cardiac arrest.
Chap pulled her husband onto the kitchen floor and gave him CPR until paramedics arrived. She said he wasn't breathing.

Good cat! Tuna and chicken every day for life!

What really happened was the cat was demanding food, it just was coincidence that her husband was having a heart attack at the time. Cats are evil!

I've got a friend who is a senior captain with the Houston fire department. He's a paramedic supervisor and has been for 30+ years.
He told me he's gone to a lot of houses where the owner lived alone and had died. He said if they had cats in the house ... well, he said the cats weren't hungry when he got there. He said if the owner had a dog that the dog would be sitting next to the body starving.
He won't own a cat.

Would Chris' cat save him? :lmao:

Only if the liter box was full or the food dish was empty.

I heard that before, but forgot about it. That is so gross! (I only have a dog.)

The dog will help keep the litter box empty.

The dog will use the cat for dinner if he catches him. Then nobody will have to worry about the litter box.

That's where our chocolate lab was found - sitting next to his former master who had died about 2 days prior to that.

I never doubted his word. He wasn't kidding when he told me that.

Dogs are faithful, cats are fickle.

Dogs have masters, cats have staff.

Dogs have masters, cats have staff.
'Tis true. Though, this "chief of staff" is a little strict with his charge. (No feeding before the appointed hour, for example.)
