No News Is Good News
In all of the speeches that I heard in Charlotte last week, I didn’t hear anyone praise President Obama for what might be his greatest accomplishment – getting us through almost four years, without some terrible national tragedy.
Consider some of the things that happened during the previous Administration:
(1) The 9/11 attacks.
(2) The destruction of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.
(3) The global financial crisis.
(4) Instigation of the war in Iraq.
(5) The bailouts.
(6) $4-a-gallon gasoline.
(7) The collapse of the real estate market.
(8) The collapse of Enron.
(9) The collapse of Arthur Andersen.
(10) The first mass-missile attack by a non-governmental organization (Hezbollah against Israel).
(11) The London and Mumbai terrorist attacks.
(12) North Korea developing a nuclear weapon.
(13) The SARS epidemic.
(14) The August 14, 2003 blackout, with 60 million people losing power.
(15) Anthrax-tainted letters in the mail.
Now, tell me what similar disasters occurred during the Obama Administration:
(0) None.
The Democratic Convention lauded President Obama for his achievements. The Republican Convention flailed President Obama for not achieving enough – or, in the case of universal healthcare, achieving too much. But maybe both perspectives are wrong. Maybe President Obama’s greatest triumph is giving us respite, some small measure of peace, from the steady drumbeat of utter disaster, trauma and carnage that preceded his Administration. President Obama has successfully avoided all the bad things that could have happened, but didn’t.
Naomi Klein’s 2007 book, The Shock Doctrine, explained what a corrosive effect that one crisis after another was having on people and society. And now, under President Obama, the shocks – even the aftershocks -- are subsiding. That is a quite a feat, no?
Let us give credit where credit is due. Here is my suggestion for a winning slogan for President Obama in 2012, just as it was a winning slogan for President Harding in 1920: “A Return to Normalcy.†Or Normality. Whatever -- you get the point.
Courage,
Alan Grayson

He is lying as always.
(1) The 9/11 attacks. Thanks to the war on terror there was no follow up attack
(2) The destruction of New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. The democrats in LA dropped the ball then blamed Bush
(3) The global financial crisis. They are still in crisis
(4) Instigation of the war in Iraq. And 0bama continued that war
(5) The bailouts. What about 0bama's bailouts?
(6) $4-a-gallon gasoline. We have that now
(7) The collapse of the real estate market. It still isn't doing so hot
(8) The collapse of Enron. How many solar plants have folded up now?
(9) The collapse of Arthur Andersen. Did 0bama revive them?
(10) The first mass-missile attack by a non-governmental organization (Hezbollah against Israel).
(11) The London and Mumbai terrorist attacks. Sure blame overseas attacks on other countries on Bush
(12) North Korea developing a nuclear weapon. They still are and so is Iran, but they are tiny countrie
(13) The SARS epidemic. Yeah Bush's fault. :whatever:
(14) The August 14, 2003 blackout, with 60 million people losing power. Coming soon even more blackouts when the coal plants shut down
(15) Anthrax-tainted letters in the mail. Once again not bush's fault
I wonder if they really are dumb enough to buy this.

3. Not to diminish your point..
..but the Gulf oil spill was pretty disastrous and should probably not be overlooked.
Shhhh can't tell the truth now.
if we start telling the truth then it makes that list worthless.

He's a certified Dummy therefore he's a liar. Sorry, check is going to the Col. in FL.

Alan doesn't answer questions. He doesn't participate at all. He just makes a post and asks for money at the end of it.
I wonder if DU will ever figure out they are being used.
-
Fast and Furious was a program that went nowhere, and killed hundreds, perhaps thousands of Mexican civilians.
direct result of the Obama admin.
But when democrats kill brown people no one cares.

Have you ever heard the word "kickback"?

Stop squawking, Grayson.
"BWWWWARK ! Polly wanna greenback ! BWWWWWARK !"

Does Grayson really believe he will be elected again?
-
To be fair, the Gulf oil spill and the Japanese tsunami were both Bush's fault.
-
sounds like Clinton set most of that into action in the late 90s.

...and the democrats when they had control of the house and senate during W's last two years.

To be fair, the Gulf oil spill and the Japanese tsunami were both Bush's fault.
Hurricane Issac was also Bush's fault, but Bush was having an off day so it didn't do as much damage as it was supposed to.

Probably not... they are dummies after all. Fools and their money and all that. It just amazes me sometimes that the bestest, smartest, most intelligent people on the face of the planet can't see what should be obvious to any idiot with an IQ above 50.
And they call us stupid. :thatsright:

What happened to his accident where he ran his mercedes into a bus full of public transport bus riders ?

Ah, but don't kid yourself.
The disgraced former congressman probably has a flunkie writing these things under his name, and then posting them on several Democrat message boards all over the internet.

I'm on his email list. This is a copy of what he emails out.

I wonder if maybe these Grayson solicitations are a scam from someone else.
Grayson is a hugely wealthy man - nearly in Romney's league.
He's a crazy, wild-eyed moonbat, but a very rich one.
Surely a few grubby DUmpbucks would mean nothing to such a man.
-
I can't believe he (or his flunkie) actually typed out $4/gal gasoline. Out of touch much? I think when he was a congresscreep, he was listed as one of the top 3 richest.
He's only got 6 replies, and no real pledges. One pathetic DUmmie said "wish I could donate." Well that's too bad. I actually can donate, and did, to Allen West.

I wish i could wish that I could donate, just to see how it feels. My FIL used to say, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride".

Day of Remembrance.
Ah, it's that time of year again. There's a hint of autumn in the air, the sky is a beautiful clear blue, and the media is telling us that it's time to never forget what happened on 9/11/01. So here, things we should never forget.
Let's never forget:
1. the day that putting a yellow ribbon magnet on your car became the sole determinant of your patriotism.
2. the day infantile jingoism trumped free speech.
3. the day it was okay to send kids into a misbegotten war, and to forget about them when they got back.
4. the day telling the Geneva Convention to go **** itself went mainstream.
5. the day civil liberties in this country died.
6. the day the American flag became exponentially more important than the ideas it was supposed to represent.
7. the day the government discovered that fearful people were much easier to govern than brave people.
8. the day this country lost its ****ing mind.
Feel free to add your remembrances in comments.
