Title: Horrible News Out of Tulane

There is, unfortunately, some terrible news from the college football world today. Tulane safety Devon Walker has been taken from the field at Tulsa’s H.A. Chapman Stadium in an ambulance.

Walker was involved in a hard hit at the end of the half with the Green Wave down 35-3 to Tulsa (which would go on to win 45-10). Walker went down upon impact, and according to Bill Haisten of the Tulsa World, has been receiving what appears to be CPR by medical personnel.

Absolutely devastating. My thoughts, and prayers go out to the young man, and his family. He had just become a walk on, too. :(

According to what was reported while watching the Badger game, they had to give him CPR on the field since he stopped breathing for a little bit. He apparently has a broken neck, and a collapsed lung. Damn...

I saw that...horrifying for the family, as well as the teams involved.

Prayers go out to him and his family.

News this morning said he's scheduled for surgery to stabilize his broken back.

Good news that they are going to do surgery....even better that they think he's stable enough to do the surgery.

A clip was shown of the hit he took. Dear God!

I saw the hit and from the angle it didn't appear to be a hit you would think someone would get hurt, but anything is possible on any play.  Hard to tell if it was helmet-to-helmet, but he definately hit helmet-to-shoulder pads.  It just happen to hit him just right, which is most unfortunate.  Hope he recovers.
