We just saw something really strange
Last week we saw the RNC have zero message discipline. Beyond the "we built that" there was none... and the usual RNC themes, foreign policy, wars, even 9-11 as a noun, were mostly gone.
This week we saw a DNC that had message discipline, amazing framing... and talked about policy as policy.
Kids, we just watched the kind of historic two weeks we have not seen in a while.
I am serious, I do not remember the the DNC this disciplined. I mean demorats do not belong to an organized party, but this week, you saw an organized party.
I am in shock.
And it was not just the President.
Where there groups ignored? Yup, Labor, organized labor... where there groups included that have not ever before, who wants to start the list? I will, LGBT was there big time.
The lesson for labor is that it needs to get it's mojo back... that's the truth.
But my lord, we just saw a convention that actually had some hell of a framing effort and it worked.
Will the election be closed? Yup, it has to do with voting dynamics in the United States.
Will there be a bump? I expect it.
And one thing I do these days is that I really do not watch it, too distracting. Yes, there is physically a wall between me and the tv... so I listen to it, mostly. It helps to concentrate on framing far better.
Who do you thank? Wasserman Shultz, she was responsible for this one...
What a coincidence - I just read something really strange - here - http://demu.gr/10021291418 - I can only assume Nadin was watching BizarroDNC, because the one I saw was a ClusterBiden of epic proportion - where Delegates voice votes get overruled, DNC mouthpieces lie and claim there is no discord, speakers are moved/removed/reassigned seemingly at random, and the President's speech was relocated because of an abundance of sunshine.
Got to hand it to her, she is faithfully committed. Perhaps to the point where she should be physically committed as well.
Nads, your side is endlessly talking about "framing" things.
Facts don`t need to be framed, they speak for themselves and their truth does not waiver.

Why they put up with it, I'll never understand.

28. Gary Johnson
and the media forgot to tell you that he is courting Paulists hard.
I expect him to syphon at least some (that will be noticeable in the results)

30. Well, talking to a few hundred Paul supporters here in San diego, they will vote for him.
You have not heard of him partly due to the media... to be fair, he should be in the debates, since the libertarian party actually polls enough.
But he is also the reason Ron Paul is NOT running on the Libertarian ticket. That was settled even before the RNC.
Oh by the way, thank small media, indie media, for pointing to you he exists. More on him, he USED to be a republican, and actually ran early on in the R primary.
He pulled out early on and instead ran in the Libertarian party primary.
<------ Just doing my job.

10. One reason for that lack of discipline is the internal civil war...
It is very obvious now, even to the casual observer. which we are not.

12. They were doing policy right and left
every speaker was, almost.
Top policy speeches, Michelle, Bill Clinton. John Kerry and Barack Obama...
Off prime time... we also had a few good ones from people like Grahnholm, the head of NARAl, it just kept on coming. Policy wonks were in heaven and there was real world arithmetic.
And dopey me, forgot Elizabeth warren... the game is rigged, elizabeth warren.

18. I am talking in the final speech
I know they were there in other speeches.
It was the, it's my beat, local labor...
They have slowly edged out Occupy.

17. She is the chairwoman of the Democratic Party... it is one of her jobs.
She did well, the last chairman to put one of these well was Doctor Dean four years ago, also in his capacity as Chairman. I would not be surprised if she asked for pointers. Usually when one does well, the next one asks for them. So whoever succeeds her, will ask her, and hopefully we will see some institutional memory develop.

21. They are as disjouinted and disunited as at least the '68 Dems
I suspect it is actually deeper... but I would not count them off... that is the common mistake.
(That does not mean that if they go away I will cry, ok I will ask them to cry me a river)... But their choice is simple and could take anywhere from four to eight years... it's faster these days. They need to figure out how to kick out the crazee uncle again... which they did after '64, when they were this divided.

23. That has always been a worry... a good vibrant speaker.
why dems need to work hard to get rid of citizens united... as to fox news, well... there is a generation right now that is not watching tv that much... and in the intertubes NEITHER side has figured how to dominate.
Yup, I can even watch shows in that new fangled android phone. That is becoming more of a factor.
Granted, there were a few of those who did not watch either convention... to be fair.
Things are right now in flux when it comes to media and how to harness it.

32. That is a good question
If they lose, we will find the answer pretty quick I suspect.
