39. It's none of your business what I buy with my food stamps

as it happens I'm buying a lot of Frozen prepared food right now because getting down the stairs to the kitchen is too painful. I have a microwave and little fridge/freezer upstairs. I'm in too much pain right now to deal with cooking- which I love.

I don't drink soda or eat candy but they aren't luxuries, they are really cheap. A lot of people buy soda because it is so ****ing cheap. And no you can't ****ing buy a great quantity of ground chuck cheaply.

I paid taxes for 30 years, now due to the slings of fortune I'm using food stamps. It's an eye opening experience.

Whoa.

Dear cali's resorted to using food stamps?

Of course, her mother might still be alive--although she'd be pretty old by now--with a tight grip on the purse-strings.

And by the way, why is dear cali living on the second floor of her house in the woods?

What if it were to start on fire?

I think given her leg and her immobility, dear cali'd be safer living on first floor, sleeping on the couch.

It's none of your business what I buy with my food stamps, but I'm going to tell you anyway, enhancing my tale with scenes of woe and sorrow, while giving you a lecture.  So don't ask me because it's not something you need to know.

Dear Food Stamp Recipients,

It's none of your business how I spend my money. I worked for it.

Signed,

Sgt SB

PS - that's my money

Exclusive girl's finishing school out in California during the 1950s.

Mother a major contributor to Democrat candidates.

Old Money, and Much Money, Connecticut.

Maybe dear cali just hasn't inherited it yet.

She wasn't well off.

She came from a comfortable family, and was given an expensive education (all of which may have been lies), but her hateful demeanor prevented her from marrying wealth, or having any kind of career.

She was working a subsistence job as a seasonal waitress at a tourist trap when for some reason she totally wallduded herself.

All the wallduding got her was unemployment, abject poverty, and a Top Ten finish in the 2011 Top DUmmy competition.

Now she's trying to peddle a disability scam like half the DUmp.

I've read that stuff from her also, but she's gotta be in her late 60s by now, and penniless.

Do the math...finishing school means a teenager, in the Fifties.

I think most of her stories of familial wealth are the usual DUmp tripe.

It doesn't count for the food stamp application, you know, since it isn't wages or anything else than shows up on any kind of W2 or 1099.  She's probably getting as much dough from her family as ever, AND getting food stamps.

Wait! I thought we could control what people put in their bodies because fatsos are crashing the economy with their health costs but we can't restrict what people existing on the kindness of tax payers put in their bodies?

This is confusing!

What an illiterate, garbled run-on mess the opening salvo was!

Like EC, I'm confused by this.  Can anybody translate?

Just a tiny correction, GOBUCKS.  She wasn't a waitress, that requires a friendly and gracious face to present to the public.  She was the pastry cook, stuck out back in the kitchen.

"You take the king's coin, you do the king's bidding."

Keep that in mind when you take those food stamps and EBT cards, DUmmies.  Someday "Big Gub'mint" WILL be telling you, because you abused the PRIVILEGE beyond all reasonable measure.

Then again, some of us have damn near never taken either EBT or unemployment.  I'm proud to say that I only took unemployment for TWO WEEKS since I entered the adult workforce at the age of 17.  Suck it.

Here is the post that Cali jumped on.  Note how ever so gently, ever so gingerly, the person suggests a slightly different take on things:

25. should there be any expectation that FS recipients make the most of their FS dollar?

I don't begrudge a little kid cake & ice cream for their birthday, but I don't think it's outrageous to expect FS recipients to make the best use of a taxpayer-funded resource (don't we expect our government agencies to use tax dollars wisely?). One can purchase much greater quantities of ground chuck, chicken or tuna for the same amount of money spent on steak. Fresh produce and staples like rice & beans are less expensive than prepared foods and more nutritious as well. Candy and soda are luxuries that many using their own dollars would take off of their shopping list if money is tight.

And of course the DUmmies would have none of it.

On to something here? How about a Government store, you DUmmies love Government crap, where it's the ONLY place you can use FS's? I'm sure that it would be WONDERFUL.

Most of the people in my area are on foodstamps because...well...they're just damn lazy. Therefore prepared foods are at the top of the grocery list....right behind beer, cigarettes, drugs, lottery tickets and steaks in just about that order.

If I ran things food stamps would be eliminated and people would go to a central ware house to get 10 pound bags of flour, rice, and beans, with 5 pound chubs of hamburger and cheese.  Want to eat other varieties of food, get a job or have somebody FREELY give you their charity.

When I was a kid, through my teenage years, my parents qualified for food stamps.  They refused to even entertain the notion of getting a handout.  We ate alot of pb&j sandwiches, cold cereal, rice, beans, cheaper cuts of meat (not at all palatable unless slow cooked), and we never went out for fast food or to a sit down restaurant.  Instead of sodas we drank Koolaid and water.

By golly, we survived just fine AND we didn't get fat, or malnourished.  Amazing what a teensy little bit of ingenuity will do for stretching the budget.  It never ceases to amaze me what people think they need, or they are poor.  TVs, computers, cell phones. :mental:

A few weeks ago I stood behind two very overweight women with a shopping cart piled with cases of soda, chips, pastries, cookies, etc.  Didn't see any good, economical food in it.  One pulled out her trusty taxpayer funded EBT card. ::)

It seems to me that what's truly lacking in many of the welfare recipients in this country is a sense of self worth and pride.  The government sure as heck doesn't encourage those feelings, not with a scumbag like Obama in the White House and all the Dems running around whipping up false grievances against anyone who isn't in the bottom of the bucket with the rest of the crabs/Dem pity party members.  In fact, the Dem party SHOULD rename itself the Pity Party.

The WIC program is heavily regulated as to what foodstuff qualifies under the program.  Most recipients under the program get way more than they can use, to the point they give some away.  I see no reason why FS couldn't be the same ?

Sure you did but just think of how many gold necklaces, $300 Nikes, Smart phones, computers, big screens , 20 inch rims and other luxury shiat you did without. To expect lazy sacks of shit to do without that is just plan racist.

Then at the end of the month they wonder why they don't have any money left on the card for food.

True, we were white, so it's okay to refer to the likes of us as white trash, trailer park trash, honkies and so on (I heard it all growing up).  But, that wasn't racism cuz we were the dominant group in American society.  I'm not all that much older than the Obamas.  Guarantee their childhoods were ALOT more replete with the materiel things in life than was mine.  But, poor underpriveleged blacks that they were, they were victims of the "system", and if anyone ever figures out what that means, let me know.

I truly don't mind welfare as a leg up, but it's not meant to be a lifelong handout any more than social security was meant to finance 100% of a  person's retirement.

Food stamps I really don't have a problem with,to a point.

In Texas if you are unemployed and under age 50, to receive food stamps you need to provide documented proof of 20 hrs/wk of employment searches.

Food stamps as a safety net to keep people from starving I don't have a major problem with.

The problem is you can't have any type of safety net without people taking advantage of it and trying to make a career out of it.

I know of "no questions asked" food banks that were taken over by well off senior citizens pulling up in brand new vehicles stating they had a family of four. They also had handicap plates, so they did not have to stand in line, the food was carried to them.

So others that had to get their children off to school before they could show up to wait in line (in the Nevada sun) that really did have families in need, often were still standing in line when they ran out of food.... :censored:
