My conservative friend from Los Angeles just called me
Last edited Wed Sep 5, 2012, 10:52 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
to ask me if I had heard Michelle's speech last night. I told her I did and she told me how she was impressed she was and she was looking forward to hearing Bill Clinton. Then she said she supposed she was going to have to vote for the Democrats this time because the Republicans have really disappointed her.
*jaw drops* I'm speechless for a moment. So I told her to hang up because Clinton was coming up and she couldn't listen to him talking to me.
WOOT!!! I hope this is catching in conservative circles.

No they didn't.

My liberal friend just called me from California to ask me if I saw Michelle 0bama's speech last night. I said no but I heard about it on the Rush show.
She said she was going to have to vote for Republicans this year because there is no way she could believe that Barak 0bama's prized possession was a coffee table he found at the side of the road unless he believed it had been the personal property of Ernesto Guevara or some other leftist mass murderer.
"Maybe he thought it belonged to John Wayne Gacy?" I offered.
She laughed, "It feels like I've been on acid for the last 20 years! I'm definitely voting for Romney and Ryan. You must feel so lucky living in the heart of history!"
"Yeah," I said, "lucky. Or simply sick of the freak show."
"Are you going to watch the Clinton speech tonight?" she asked.
"Not unless Monica is waiting in the wings to confront The Big Creep."
She laughed and hung up.
I hope this is catching on with Democrats everywhere.

Somehow I knew this would be a DUmp conversion fantasy when I saw the title.

So, how many liberals have you called and claimed to have been converted? :-)

None, but I have noticed my ultra-liberal cousin has taken his page off of Facebook.
It's either because he's finally embarrassed enough by the Dims to actually see reality and have a brief moment of mental clarity, or
His bosses where he works told him to remove it, or join the 8.2%. (I'm actually leaning towards the second :lmao:)
I know, a liberal with a job. Imagine that. He also has a college degree in business, and did some substitute teaching on the side. Personally, I wouldn't let him teach a dog how to take a nap.

Hey DUmbass, as a conservative, I know that California is already going to Obama no matter who I vote for. The same applies to your "friend".
-
Man, they're working OVERTIME to get their hopes up. November is gonna be SWEET!

There were a few here and there until they all escaped behind the Orange Curtain, and even then we're leaving in droves.
BTW--six years and counting.

Someone on another political board got a call from her Grandmother who voted for Obama, and she was screaming at her in Yiddish when she saw the reaction of God and Jerusalem being booed and she refuses to vote for anyone. So there!

While I would take Billy-Jeff over the messiah ANY day of the week, to claim that a Republican was looking forward to hearing him speak is too much of a stretch for me.
Epic fail bouncy.

To be fair, some of the economical boom in the 90's came from the dot com bubble, that eventually collapsed and caused a recession. Not saying that was anyone's fault. Just too much hype.

Bill Clinton had absolutely zero to do with it. It was entirely driven by the private sector... he just happened to be in office at the time.

Yup, which is the point I was making.

Actually, and I haven't been able to find this again for a few years, there was a Harvard study done that said he actually hindered the growth during the I.T. revolution. It was just too big of a Juggernaut for him to seriously hurt.

There was his DOJ's lawsuit against Microsoft.

There was his DOJ's lawsuit against Microsoft.
There was also his threat against companies in the Y2K runup which threatened 10X civil penalites for damage caused by Y2K issues, which were nonexistent.

Reagan had a lot to do with it too as he delivered the "peace dividend".

Al Gore is the one who is really responsible for the dot com bubble. After all, it was him to invented he internet.

Phones are ringing off the hook everywhere after Bill Clinton's speech! :stoner:
