3. Why isn't the Pentagon stopping the distribution of this book?
They have to power to stop printing, just as they have the power to censor personal mail being from and to members of the military. If it is a danger to this country, why hasn't a Presidential Order been signed to stop publication immediately?

Organizing for Bradley Manning, in anti-war movement’s wake
This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Rhiannon12866 (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).
Source: Waging Nonviolence
Supporters of Bradley Manning, the soldier accused of releasing hundreds of thousands of documents to WikiLeaks, are about to do something that many progressives may find counterproductive, if not downright distasteful, in the midst of a close election. This week, beginning on Thursday, September 6, they plan to stage a wave of nonviolent direct actions across the nation as President Obama gives his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention.

4. Good for them
It does no harm to criticize and put a spotlight on an issue towards Obama at this time, if its an issue that Republicans want silenced as well.

Manning suffers from the stress of gender identity disorder so that makes him more important than any silly ol' SEAL.</du>

It's OK for some New York Liberal waste of paper to post secret documents or for some idiot that got butt hurt to leak documents to an online source but let some SEAL write a book and its treason. Yep the hypocrisy bus is never late at DU.

I joke about people believing that the most simple arithmetic equation is a root vegetable but there are at least 40% of the populations that thinks that way. We have attained the future of Orwell's MiniTru, up is down, weakness is strength,...

It seems to me that all three cases are close to treason.
Two of the three were members of the military who violated oaths, one of whom was looking for huge personal gain.
The fact that one perp was previously an honorable hero and the other two were useless weenies doesn't change the illegality of the action.
