Quote
Michael Clarke Duncan -- best known for his Oscar-nominated role as a death row inmate who possessed magical healing powers in the 1999 film "The Green Mile" -- died on Monday at the age of 54, according to his fiancee Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth.

Duncan had been in a Los Angeles hospital since July 13 following a heart attack and died on Monday morning after close to two months of treatment.

At 6-feet, 5-inches tall and approximately 300 pounds, Duncan was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as gentle giant prisoner John Coffey in "The Green Mile," also starring Tom Hanks. Duncan won the role, in part, due to a recommendation by Bruce Willis, who he worked with on 1998's "Armageddon." Duncan went on to appear with Willis in three more films -- "Breakfast of Champions," "The Whole Nine Yards" and "Sin City."

Duncan's career spanned three decades and included roles in other television and film titles including "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," "Married with Children," "The Jamie Foxx Show," "Living Single," "Bulworth," "Arli$$," "A Night at the Roxbury," "Sister, Sister," "Cats & Dogs," "Planet of the Apes," "King of the Hill," "CSI: NY," "Kung Fu Panda," "Two and a Half Men," "Bones," and most recently "The Challenger," which is yet to be released. The African American actor also played The Kingpin in 2003's "Daredevil," starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner -- a notable achievement seeing as the character in the comics, on which the film is based, was always depicted as being white.

"The Green Mile" was nominated for four Oscars in 2000 and won 15 other awards including best supporting actor trophies for Duncan from the Black Reel Awards and the Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards. ---MORE--- (http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/actor-michael-clarke-duncan-green-mile-fame-dies-230656149.html)

Another good person and incredible talent taken from us far too soon.  RIP, John Coffey.

But engaged to Omarosa?

Wow, that is a stunner.  On both counts.

I didn't know of him at all, so it seems I missed out on something special.

RIP, Mr. Duncan.  I pray for your loved ones to find peace through their grief.

An eccentric movie - spoiled by a politically correct "eco-message" at the end - has Michael Clarke Duncan in an interesting role: FBI agent investigating paranormal activity.

The Last Mimzy

This clip at the beginning has his first scene: he reappears toward the middle for another scene:

She was a runner-up on American Idol a couple years ago.

I hate having an eidetic memory.  I'd like to trade a few brain cells for something useful.

Maybe that's why. I'd prefer bamboo shoots under my fingernails to watching a stupid reality show or bs like AI.

All I knew about her was that people considered her an ugly bitch.

She was on The Apprentice.  Eidetic memory or selective memory?  :)

Hmm, I might have arrived at a similar conclusion had I not read post #20, this thread.

When the SO wants to watch those or Dancing with the 'Tards, I go to the BR TV and pop in World at War or Victory at Sea. :-)

She applied.  It wasn't "Celebrity Apprentice".

His role as Bear in Armageddon was priceless, particularly when they were landing the space shuttle a second time on the Evel Kneivel jump when He kept saying
Thank you Jesus!

She did "The Apprentice" first, and came back on "Celebrity Apprentice". She was a real bitch the few times I saw her on the either show. I was surprised to find out she was MCD's girlfriend, let alone his fiance. He had a very good reputation for being a really nice guy.

I remember seeing him years ago, on Jay Leno, before The Green Mile, as he was in a Bruce Willis movie. He was his bodyguard and Willis put him in the movie. When I saw him on the Leno show, he was like a little kid who suddenly found himself unexpectedly at DisneyWorld. He dug ditches for the electric company in Chicago, and decided to quit and go see what Hollywood was like. He was like a "gentle giant".

So sad this happened to him.  :(

I will miss him, along with a lot of guys out there.  His best lines were in Armageddon when they were starting training for directional thrusters.

I would say the Green Mile, but I can't watch that film more than ten times.  Armageddon I can watch with friends and have a good bunch of laughs.
